Had a great experience at the Spectrum (Orange City) store! I'm not tech savvy & had agreed to a Spectrum mobile phone plan over phone. After I mentioned "deal" I rec'd to a friend they were certain it wasn't what I thought I was getting. Went to Spectrum Mobile's office & lucked out in getting help from Khadeidre!!! She was super patient & knowledgeable & was able to answer all my questions & decipher what I really needed & then untangle all that had been done on phone. She was amazing!! Spot on everyone their customer service is atrocious. They don't give a fuck because they're too powerful. My installer told me I should have the Wi-Fi eight mesh router with my level of service or I don't know these things the company does why didn't they give me the router and modem to begin with So I called customer service. They said no you have the right router I said well why did your technician tell me otherwise I think he would know so I asked for a supervisor they said oh somebody will call you back. I missed a call. They didn't even number where I could reach them back so I called Customer Service two or three more times and no supervisor was available. I eventually asked them to email me rather than call me. I emailed them. They never emailed me back. There is one blessing or one good customer service person in the store. I have her name somewhere she went above and beyond and took something off my price of my service voluntarily. Although I think that was to generate me to upgrade my services but nonetheless. When going into the store, their check-in is not ADA compliant. I had asked somebody for help. I saw another elderly gentleman who was trying to check in for 30 minutes, so I volunteered myself since staff was incompetent and capable and indifferent. That was discriminatory in violation of the ADA. I told Customer Service that their check-in is not ADA compliant. They didn't know what I meant so this is now notice to Spectrum. This is a grievance of noncompliance of discrimination and violation of the Americans with disabilities act. You need to fix this and fix this immediately as required under federal law. read more

We upgraded out internet and they asked us to return the old router to their office, which we did. no one is there to greet or direct customers when they come in. We signed in at the automated kiosk, we had to wait a FULL hour to give them their own equipment back! They are all very rude and speak to the customers as if they work there and work for them. I saw them treating people like garbage, they talked to a Veteran like he was a three year old. They are company that doesn't understand what customer service is. I waited about 45 mins and when my name was called the lady (0033) told me I had to only go to a UPS store and that I could not return the WiFi router to the Spectrum store. I told her I was told that I could and maybe she could call someone and she said no. She said that if she did anything with my account that she would be committing fraud. This review is going to be mainly focused on an employee that I had a negative interaction with at this Spectrum location. This employee goes by the name of MATT. I had requested for an additional receiver at my home over the phone, long story short I decided I didn't want the receiver and looked into returning in via the instruction provided to me on the box. The instructions on the Spectrum box gave me two options "OPTION 1: Return to the UPS Store" and "OPTION 2: Drop off at ANY Spectrum store. I work late and my UPS Stores close at 6pm. I went with "OPTION 2" and decided on dropping off the receiver at my local Spectrum store. I arrived at the store and signed in. The store was not busy and Matt came to assist. Matt rudely stated "Spectrum receivers don't get dropped off here" and "The people over the phone give misinformation and tell customers to drop them off here" I showed him the box were it says "OPTION 2" in which he then stated "Did you follow OPTION 1". Matt kept saying UPS was across the street. I decided on going to UPS seeing if by any chance it was still open since it was just after 6pm. I left and went to UPS... well... you guessed it UPS was closed. I called Spectrum customer service and spoke to a representative over the phone and got the representative to confirm that I can drop receivers off at any Spectrum store and the employee Matt was incorrect. I went back to the store and spoke to Matt. Now mind you the store was not busy and Matt was lounging with another employee at the table. I explained to Matt UPS was closed and I need to go with my second option. Matt then stated UPS doesn't close until 7pm per Google. After going back and forth over when UPS closes and Matt's terrible customer service skills, in which I asked to speak to a manager and Matt stated there wasn't one there. Matt finally agreed to take the receiver back and told me that if it gets shipped from the store it could possibly be lost in transit and I could be responsible for the cost of a new one. I said I would take pictures to show Spectrum in case it does. Matt was doing everything he could to possibly make my life difficult and for no reason the label itself clearly states that I can drop receivers off at a Spectrum store. After Matt's condescending and rude behavior I called Spectrum corporate and his manager and explained the situation. Clearly Matt shouldn't be working in an environment that involves helping people and customer service. Unfortunately he didn't give me good service and avoided performing his job at all costs. Upon going to write this review on Yelp and Google I've noticed that Matt has had issues with other customers that are similar to what I've went through. Hopefully this bad apple doesn't ruin Spectrums reputation. At the end of the day, Spectrum still gives me reliable service at a low rate and you can't beat that. I had Spectrum internet for 7 years. in the last couple months there have been dozens of outages. When I canceled the service I was given instructions to return the equipment to the Orange City store. I was given the address over the phone. The first time I attempted to return the gear the wait looked like it was too long and I left. After I left I received texts stating that my turn was coming up and to return to the store and then that my turn was up. 2 things - I would have waited 38 minutes and they were tracking my phone. When I returned to the store today WITH AN APOINTMENT I was told that I had to return the gear through the UPS Store. BTW - when I called to cancel, I was offered 1 Gig service at a lower price. I told them that the service couldn't possibly be that fast if they averaged in the down time. Another BTW - as I arrived for my appointment I received a text stating that the service I don't get anymore was back after being down for almost 2 hours in my neighborhood. read more

Hi, I don't usually post/email things like this as I am a firm believer in "caveat emptor" (buyer beware), and when I make a dumb purchase, I usually blame no one but myself. However, this was "done" to my 80+ year old mother-in-law (Mom), who is neither technical, nor rich. We begin.... My mother in law recently purchased an old color TV at a garage sale ("Coaxial cable connection built in" old) and put it in her guest room. As a faithful customer of Brighthouse (now rectum Spectrum, henceforth referred to as the "scammers"), she called to request an additional cable box for the new TV. Despite explaining to the "salesperson" ("scammer") that this was an old TV, the person on the other end insisted that what she "really" needed was a "new type of device that would enable her to get all sorts of additional media besides just the cable channels". This device didn't even need a cable drop and it would only cost her one dollar more than what they would charge her for a regular old cable box. Mom explained that she didn't need any additional channels and that the cable box would be just fine but the scammer insisted that the old cable boxes were being phased out in favor of this new device and that if she didn't get it, she would have to upgrade again in a few months at an additional cost. So much was the insistence that my Mom caved and went ahead with the purchase. The scammer dutifully rattled off all the legalese at top speed, glossing over many of the details so he could get her to the "dotted line" at top speed. So, $183.00 on her bill and several days later, the box arrived, and a couple of days after that I came over to install the device. The "new device" turned out to be an Apple TV.... the 4K Apple TV (did I mention she told them it was an old TV?) with the Siri controller. (BTW, this sells online for under 180 dollars so there's even a markup they throw in for free....) So now I had to go to the local tech store and buy a coax to HDMI adapter at additional cost (32$) so I could actually connect it to the TV. I hooked it up and spent the next 10 minutes trying to understand how to even get to her regular cable channels. I've been in the technical fields since I was 17 and, after 30 minutes, I still couldn't figure out how to go back to a previous menu. To say that this device was technologically WAY beyond my 80-year old Mom (as well as myself, apparently) would be a gross understatement. We quickly decided that this was not the device she needed and that we would return it for a "regular old cable box". The label on the cover of the shipping box spoke at length about where the device could be returned if needed, but there was no explanation of how to return it. When we called "the scammers" to ask how we should be returning the device for the cable box as was originally requested, they dropped the bomb that, "if the seal on the package was broken, the device could not be returned". "Not THEIR fault", they said. They assured us that they had disclosed this information on the call and followed that up with an email to my Mom's ancient Yahoo account that hasn't been active since 2004. No, they couldn't re-send the email and no, they couldn't play back the actual phone call for us to prove they had communicated this trap door to her as this was "Spectrum private material". When asked if they would consider just taking it back as a favor for a years-long customer, they said they "would, but APPLE, isn't letting them..." (boohoo) So now my Mom has a useless, unintuitive 4K Apple TV that she's paying for in 700 easy payments of $7.99 for the next 2 years AND, if she drops the service, she's still liable for the two years contract AND the cost of the Apple TV. Now before you go on to explain that she should have cut the cable, or that there's better remotes for the Apple TV than the Siri one, or that she should have called someone more technical (namely, me), the point of the story is to let you know that Brighthouse/Spectrum is in the practice of LOCKING CUSTOMERS INTO A TWO YEAR CONTRACT BY "UPGRADING YOU TO A NEW DEVICE TO REPLACE YOUR OLD CABLE BOX", and then making it impossible for you to back out of it. As far as I can tell, this is a close to "predatory practices" as you can get and not cross the line. and worse, they are doing this to senior citizens, knowing that they are a target for this type of scam as they are most likely not tech-savvy enough to see it for the scam it is.n I have already sworn NEVER to use Spectrum again as soon as I can find a new Internet provider and am actively looking for one. Warn your family members, especially the older ones, that the advertising line they use of "no contracts ever..." is just B.S. if they can somehow lasso you into this SCAM "deal". Please share this with anyone considering Spectrum as a provider of any service. read more

My box went out and a service tech came out with a new one and in 2 days it stopped working plus they charge a$50.00 dollar service fee to count to your house I will not use them after I pay this bill off They rip you off with prices and don't give good service read more

Beware of spectrums policies!! They used to be only provider in town but now there is ATT fiber and a few others so you may be tired of paying 90.00 a month just for internet!! They refuse to give you their advertised specials if you are a customer!! ATT fiber is only 45.00 and the service is way faster and reliable. I called to cancel service and spectrum said i was 3 days into the billing month and that if I returned their equipment within the next day I would not be charged the month. I returned it next day and am still being charged the full month. no pro rating, nothing, They lie and say they are a subscription service. They are not and that does not entitle them to a full month of service they are NOT providing!! Has anyone had any luck resolving this type of issue? Their should be some class action suit for all the services they have charged that they actually did not provide!! I can only hope enough people will tire of their bullying, threats to ruin your credit, etc and switch to other providers now that we have some new ones available. Just a heads up, if you are going to cancel check your billing date because they will take every penny they can even when you arent even using their service!! read more

I'd already seen the single star Yelp reviews of this place but thought I would chance it since there were no customers at the location. I'm sad to say that the bad reviews were true and I should have heeded them. Matt, an employee there, is incredibly rude and dismissive. Had such a bad experience that I choose to go with satellite instead. I know it isn't as fast as cable internet but I just can't justify going with Spectrum after what I endured with them. Worst customer service EVER!! Had to cancel service for one of our offices in another city that we are closing. Told to pick up all the equipment, they gave us all the serial numbers, brand and models. Drive 2 hours over and 2 hours back to get the equipment. Took to the Orange City Florida store on Enterprise Road. Place is packed with 14 customers waiting. I sign in. Indicating returning equipment. Others waiting have equipment to return. Finally after a 30 minute wait, young girl announces to all they don't take returns of equipment but we have to either call UPS or go to UPS store to return equipment. I and others are very upset. I tell the young lady we were told to bring it here to turn into the store. She said she knew they tell people that but they don't take returns. I told her I was leaving mine there and they could process the return and that I had better receive my return credit. I left the card board box with the equipment and left. Others did the same. I called the business office number on my invoice and they indicated that the young lady was incorrect. They took my information and said I should get my credit in a couple of weeks. Personal service is non-existent at this Spectrum Store. Spectrum needs to get all their employees on the same page. read more

I Brought my 83 year old mother into the Orange City , FL store today, so she could turn in some older spectrum equipment that was on her account. She also just wanted to ask if they had a large button remote, as she has difficulty with the smaller buttons on the new remote. In case the store was busy, I made an appointment on line so she wouldn't have to wait. This was the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. As a licensed medical professional who works in Broward county, I know what it is like to be busy. But this store was not busy at all, only one other customer in the store at the time. Matt the employee at the store treated my mother like she wasn't a person. He would not let her ask questions, and barely let her speak. He cut her off at every sentence. Gone are the days when young people respect their elders. Matt was never taught to do so apparently. He did not even make an effort to try to be respectful. He has absolutely no customer service skills , and I hope he finds what he is looking for in life, as working with the public, is not his forte. After I helped my mother back into the car, I went back inside to let him know that I didn't appreciate the way he treated my mother. His only childish response was "that's interesting" , and he mocked me. Maybe his parent or a relative own the store, and he just doesn't care, or maybe he had a bad situation happen to him recently. Matt you still have to pull yourself together and treat others with kindness and respect, if you want to get anywhere bigger in life. Whatever the case I will be in prayer for you. I generally do not write reviews, but I need to share my experience, and will not recommend this store. Please take the time to read. I do recommend Spectrum and feel that the best option for the customer can be obtained by making a phone call to customer service. I came in to inquire about adding TV to my account. I told the sales rep that I have a fixed income and need to purchase a basic package, with any discounts or promotionals that I may qualify for. Basically, the rep was non communicative, dis not ask me any questions, looking at his computer screen, looking at his phone, and around the room, and then went out to his car to grab what looked like a bag of food. This is not customer service! He looked at his screen again and told me that my package would be $194.00 (this may have included the internet which I already have). I left discouraged and disappointed by the lack of communication and no attempt to discuss the needs of the customer. Since I wanted to go with Spectrum, I called customer service and the rep spent an hour with me reviewing what is available, setting up a plan, and even an application for a program that assists people in need. The new price was considerable less than the one quoted in the store. I then spoke with a very helpful technician, who guided me through the hookup. Conclusion: Save gas and aggravation- call the Customer Service number. read more
