Apparently returning Spectrum equipment is a scavenger hunt now. I walked in carrying a pile of heavy equipment and did what generations of humans have been trained to do: I got in line. Crazy, I know. So there I am, standing behind several other people who had also made the radical decision to form a line, when I start noticing employees calling random names from around the store. People are wandering up from chairs, corners, and various mysterious locations like they've just won a raffle. After about 15 minutes, another customer finally informs us that you have to sign in when you arrive. Now here's the part that really impressed me: every employee in the store watched a group of us standing there holding heavy equipment for fifteen minutes and not a single person thought to mention this tiny little detail. Not one. It honestly felt like a social experiment. "Let's see how long these people stand here before they figure it out." The sign-in system itself isn't the problem. Plenty of places use one. The problem is watching customers clearly waiting for service and saying absolutely nothing. The good news is I eventually returned my equipment. The bad news is I now know more about human indifference than I did when I walked in. read more

So, I went in on a Sunday around 6:15 pm and there were only 2 customers being helped by a Spectrum employee. Three others were just standing behind their computers. As soon as we walked in, one employee, Bladimir, came up to us. He didn't greet us or smile, just looked totally fed up and bored. My husband had questions about his three phone lines and a tablet. The employee was super short with his answers and really rude. We decided not to bother with our upgrade questions because we just felt unwelcome there. The TV lineup is TERRIBLE. Every day as I scan through the available TV shows so many choices are on over and over again! There are more repeats than new shows. The information about each available show does not have the date or any other relevant information. I end up watching the live news more than anything else. Spectrum brags about the TV lineup but charges lots of money to upgrade for things like Net flicks. Comcast - Xfinity is much better but I can't get it where I live. read more

I showed up at this Spectrum location to return my equipment and found about 20 people waiting to be seen. I sat there for 30 minutes with my equipment before someone finally came out to tell me that if I'm just returning equipment, they scan it without needing to wait in line, and I'd get a confirmation email. Really? That should've been made clear from the start. Honestly, between the frequent outages and the gradual bait-and-switch with monthly charges increasing over time, I'm done with Spectrum. BEWARE DISHONEST REPS WHO ADD UNWANTED SERVICES TO YOUR ACCOUNT!! First time Spectrum customer. I went into the store to pick up equipment to self-install internet service. The rep I dealt with --Ademin (or something like that) --- kept hard selling me on Spectrum mobile service, which I verbally told him I was not interested in at this time, no matter the deal offered. After minutes of way too much typing, asking me for my phone, and more typing, I said to him, "This is just for internet, right?" to which he mumbled a muted affirmative response. Minutes later (after even more typing) I get my internet equipment and return home. Just to verify that my account had been setup correctly, I logged into the Spectrum app. And what did I find? Spectrum Mobile service had been added to my account, against my express wishes and despite assurance from the rep that I only was signing up for internet service. Had I not checked, come a year from now, when the free year of mobile service was up, my bill would have increased, and I wouldn't have remembered why. THESE ARE THE DECEPTIVE PRACTICES THAT SPECTRUM IS LEGENDARY FOR (and which I never believed, until it happened to me). Stay away from this location, and if you must go, check your account afterwards. To finish the story, I called Spectrum customer service after finding the un-asked-for mobile service added to my account and had the service disconnected. I also reported the rep, but I doubt any action will be taken. I suspect this behavior is encouraged at the management level. Or maybe Ademin, the rep, mistook me for being clueless. read more

10:40am on a Saturday. In order to pick up equipment that is paid for, you have to wait in a 7+ person line of people seeking help across all their services. There are two people working. It's wildly inefficient and slow. Everyone seems nice and polite but we're all gonna be here for at least an hour. Update: not a full hour but almost and I left and had to cancel my service since I was getting error messages and was not able to log into brand new account. I was told I could take the equipment and leave and try and home and contact support if I had issues. A sparkling example of Spectrum's amazing quality. The agent who helped me was kind and didn't seem like there was anything they could do unless I was willing to leave and *hope* for my account to work. I'll be trying the one other home internet option in my area and hoping that works. read more

I left... I made a reservation earlier in the day to come in. When I got to the store, the associate told me, I had to sign in so I did. I got a text saying go to the front and I went and the associate said no one called you (it felt like he was trying to give attitude), and I explained that I got a text to come to the front. I think overall it was the sales associate attitude and the slow service that made me just decide to leave. After a long day at work, I don't need that. I went to Verizon instead to get home internet service for $35/mo (a special deal for existing customers), and I believe they have other reasonable deals as well. In my experience, Spectrum has been very shady anyway so this experience gave me even more reason to not use their services. In the past, I was charged a bill after I ended service and had to dispute it after it went to collections. Make sure to document everything just in case. read more

They have no empathy. I resolved my problem inside the store by calling Spectrum's customer service number because they couldn't give me an answer and were very rude, as if I were the bad guy just because I got desperate and they wouldn't help me. I came in to get a new modem, told them I was happy with my cell service and not interested in changing, left and looked at my recipt and they had signed me up for spectrum mobile. I confirmed multiple time because the guy was being sketchy that I was not being given cell service. Pulled my reciept out of the bag at home and there was a SIM card stapled to it. Hello, Ive had Spectrum internet for over a year now and its still mostly reliable & I received a 'free' upgrade (I didn't request) to 400/mbs data. I also reviewed my phone bill ,since recently retired, on a true fixed income now : Social Security benefits. I was paying $50/mo. I have been getting billed the same amount for a year. Suddenly my bill increased 35%! My promotions ran out and I never received an email, only an increase. Every month I get an email confirming my payment and the amount has been the same. I was told I have to open the billing statement to then look at promotions expiration dates. Why would I look at a bill that is the same every month? Spectrum secretly tries to "get you" with these promotions that expire with NO notification. It's an unfair way to treat a client. I had my local channels for free where i live for 4-5 months, now they claim that they were in the wrong package that we get for free. I called them to see if I can get them back and they want me to get an extra 15 channels which includes the local channels i had before its 65$ i can't pay that. LIES, LIES, LIES! DON'T BELIEVE THE COMMERCIALS. For us, Spectrum cable/internet services have been the ABSOLUTE WORST. We've had them for some time now hoping the service would improve. However, for the last couple of months the service has become increasingly and completely UNRELIABLE. Today is September 17th, 2025 and the service has gone out almost EVERYDAY for the last week ... constant interruptions throughout the day - hours long interruptions even on some days over the past month. And then take more money from you after swearing the account is finished and fully paid. They also say the auto pay will turn off after the last billing cycle. Now they say you have to wait 90 days??
