Be prepared for incredibly poor customer service if contracting for phone and/or TV service. We asked for a DVR that could work with an external hard drive. They made us go to their store and pick up a box with USB connections. The installer told us that the USB could not communicate with any computer or hard drive; it could only charge a cellphone. It took over two months to find out that they could not provide the promised service items. When the installer finally came and confirmed that they could not do what was promised, they refused to refund any money paid for the TV services that were never connected. They were also unable to port a land-line phone number leaving us with horrible task of calling all of our contacts to notify them of the new number assigned. One the plus side, most of their customer service people are very polite as they screw you over. read more

I changed my mobile service to spectrum, I was told it was free for one year if I paid one month upfront. The next month I received a bill and was told I needed to pay 2 months and then the year was free. This month, another bill. Customer service couldn't help..Ronny in retention was shotty saying he was helping, but I still needed to pay the bill, he would credit it going forward. I said that didn't work for me,.so I was transferred to Dolly in billing who said she understands but I need to pay the bill. Also, my internet bill, I'm being charged more than quoted. I got lied to by a sales rep of this company. I didn't want to sign up because I knew I just upgraded my frontier service and it has a new contract. They said there was a contract buy out and I wouldn't have to pay any termination fees, so I figured alright. They ported my phone number over which instantly canceled my frontier service (which I wasn't aware of). Then I found out that there buyout only actually covers 500$ and my termination feel was 900$. Very few new shows are available on the On Demand section. When I bought my package (silver) they cancelled cinemax a few months later. Spectrum Cable TV box/DVR is the WORST! The DVR is constantly causing problems and I have to re-boot in the middle of programs because it freezes or gives me errors that suggest I do not have access to the channel (which I was in the process of watching just a minute ago). I would NOT recommend to anyone and it looks like I will have to go back to DirecTV. It is truly a pity that none of the companies offering TV programming have any regard for customers and would give new customers access to discounts and promotions not offered to current customers. I don't use these people because I chose to. I use them because I have to. They'll definitely do these things: Harass you if a payment is anything over a day late. Call you 6 times a day if your bill is past due by $40. They'll cancel your service if you can't make a payment on a specific day. For instance, I wanted to schedule a payment for the 9th, and they would only make an extension for the 8th. Arbitrary awfulness. This company is ridiculous. A lot of dumb people work here -- if you want to find out for yourself, just call in. It's surprising to think that a few rich white guys lined their pockets with such a horrible company. We decided to change our cell service from Verizon to Spectrum. Living in Saluda we didn't know of any local stores But we did find a new one in Arden. We were there for over an hour because of having to unlock our phones, etc. we had the perfect customer service guy,Tyler Williamson, and he was able to navigate his way through every situation that came up. If he didn't have extensive experience with Apple (certified), Verizon, and Spectrum we would have been there much longer and I don't know if we would have been able to complete the transfer that day. As far as customer service experience, we could not have asked for better. It was great. read more

Spectrum's customer service and technical support sucks. Daniel the technician is FIVE STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My lap top became useless after a windows upgrade the first week in June. I believe the Spectrum system had problems cause of excessive heat, and that my internet speed was at a snails pace so that the windows upgrade never loaded properly and my system became corrupted. After much effort I finally got the windows 10 20H2 and 21 H1 loaded back onto my laptop computer. I invested 16 hours to nurse my lap top computer back to health and had to suffer through the Spectrum Customer Service and Technical Support try to explain to me what needed to be done. Basically the Spectrum Customer Support and Technical Support Teams are very poorly trained and would rather talk over a customer rather than listen and try to solve their internet problems. They suck. However, Daniel a technician can to my house and solved the problem of internet speed and actually listened to me as I told him my internet problems. Daniel is FIVE STARS!!!!!!!! Literally thieves.... I noticed a few months ago that I was being charged for a cable box I never had. So I let them know and they removed it. When I asked them to refund my money for an item I never had........ they said "you only have 60 days to dispute charges on your bill". Note that they had charged me for this box for 2 1/2 years @ $8.00 a month. Essentially they are admitting they made an error, but blaming the customer for not recognizing a little line item on their bill. Now that they are fully aware of their error, they are going to keep my money (aka steal it)......... why? cause they can. Internet constantly stops working. The service they provide is very poor. Just read all of the negative reviews & you notice the same complaints. Everyone isn't lying, it's true that they are horrible & give people in Long Beach unreliable Internet that persistently fails. Why do I pay for internet that never works properly? Other than dropped computer connectivity, television cable going out (or needing renewing multiple times), the customer service seems something nonexistant to us. We don't believe there is any customer service training, or certainly not putting customers first. Almost seems like the service people think we're there for them, and not the other way around. Ask a question and get a quip or very short answer, but certainly not what one might expect. We only have Spectrum because it's part of the apartment complex, for we would prefer far more what we had pior. If you can, find another service, but also read reviews and talk with those of experience. **One more interesting tidbit. With basic cable and wi-fi, it's part of the rent so to speak, so we're not supposed to pay. They kept sending bills. When we stopped that, they said they could only return a couple previous or so payments. From time to time, we get bills, so we ignore. The worst internet provider ever. I'm constantly dropped from my Zoom calls and my kids can't take Zoom classes due to internet issues. I've called their service line and the person who came out to help said that the reason for the slow internet is due to congestion of too many people in my area using the internet. The service technician said that there isn't a solution for the near future. If this is true, why are they advertising so much on numerous platforms for people to sign up with them? More people signing up will only create more congestion that they can't handle and make what is already terrible worse. I have an updated modem and router so that isn't an issue. All our devices are fairly new. Even the service tech person said that my equipment is all very good and can't get any better. The only reason I'm with Spectrum is that that is the only option I have for my neighborhood. I live in Orange County and I heard issues weren't just local. I have colleagues all over the greater Los Angeles area who have similar issues with Spectrum. Spectrum needs to seriously work on current problems for their existing customers before advertising to get more customers. It is evident that the leadership of Spectrum needs to be changed for this problem to get any resolution. read more

I started with time warner/spectrum over 10+ years ago with just internet at $35/month. I like to be loyal and did receive quality internet, but the price went up every year or two. Once the price reached $60/month, I bought my own cable modem to cut out modem rental fees. I got into the habit of calling them every year to extend my "promotional price" for another year. This slowed down, but did not completely stop the price raises, which is at the very least somewhat understandable. This past year they raised the price of my internet from $60 to $80/month. I called them as I routinely did every year and explained to them in a kind and professional tone that I can't pay that amount and that I will be forced to take my business elsewhere if my monthly is not adjusted. I told them it was strictly a business decision and that I enjoy the service they provide and have been a loyal customer for over a decade. The representative helping me had a cold, indifferent tone and would not budge. I called back and got a different rep with the same response. So, as I wasn't bluffing and I had other options, I decided to switch. TBH if they want to raise their price, sure go ahead and see if people are willing to pay, but then I start getting spam letters from them biweekly for new customer specials. It has been 4 months now and I just received a letter today that they will offer me TV + internet for $70/month (for 12 months of course). Just 4 months ago they were charging me $80/month for JUST INTERNET. I'm sorry, but business tactics like these are the reason why I will never use them again. Hopefully other consumers will become more informed and stop letting these companies get away with murder, because they are making a KILLING! read more
