The Wi-Fi is God awful. It doesn't matter what the ad say. It doesn't matter what the deals are. Their service is awful. Their Internet connection is the worst out there. It's 50-50 chances you will ever have connection. If all you have is streaming you're never on. read more

Even after cancelling on 8/13, getting email confirmation of 8/13, having a spectrum supervisor tell me on the phone that I called that day (to cancel), they're still trying to tell me that I arbitrarily ended my service on 8/25, which makes no sense. If anything, the employee might've told me we had service until 8/15, not 8/25, because the cycle is to 8/15. After years of getting charged way too much for mediocre wifi, they can't even see how their "notes" don't make any sense and that the charge on me is invalid. They now put me as the consumer in a terrible spot essentially saying 1. Pay this now, even though it isn't really owed or 2. Don't pay it and take a hit to your credit. Good times. Last person I talked to was Nessa, a supervisor with Charter Spectrum out of the North Texas Call Center. I'd appreciate if this could be handled without hurting the consumer or dragging on, please and thank you. Respectfully, please drop this charge. read more

Extremely unhappy with Spectrum install of cable in ground to my house! 2 technicians plowed the cable in ground without a locate of what's in ground! Cut my existing AT&T U-verse line! They just put cable in ground from pedestal to house and left with no install. We have 4 kids in school with no internet and no way to access there classes. Called and talked to Meeka who was extremely nice and escalated this to be installed this evening. Meeka also helped me with account access info. Very knowledgeable. Shortly after that EVONY called about install ticket. I explained and she said it would not be till tomorrow before a install. I said that wasn't acceptable. I asked if installs are done at night and she said yes, but not at first when I asked. Very rude associate is EVONY! She was saying that I did not know what was done. I told her I did and Spectrum needed an installer to come out tonight. I have a open cable on the back of my house waiting to be installed. We argued. I got mad because she kept talking when I was trying to talk and totally disrespecting me. She finally hung up on me saying I could not talk to a supervisor who she had just talked to while putting me on hold earlier for 15min. But now I cannot talk to them and someone would call me back tomorrow. I said that is unacceptable. She said that that's all she could do. I wanted the supervisor. I guess she can only talk to them and nobody else. I told her I wanted to file a complaint, but she said she couldn't do anymore and finally hung up on me after I said I wasn't hanging up till I talked to a supervisor. EBONY is the worst experience I have ever had with any company on the phone! Most rudest person. I have a good reason to be upset about this. She said they cut AT&T lines all the time and they are not required to fix them. I said then get an installer out here to install my service! Because I asked her to fix the AT&T line then since no locate service came out before he plowed the Spectrum cable in and cut my U-Verse cable! Bottom line is I am paying for U-Verse with no service. I was just told that my speed is 15 mbps but if I down load something the speed will drop. I am downloading a single game, while directly connected to the modem and nothing else taking up bandwidth and my download speed is 1.2mbps not 15. That's like someone trying to sell you a car saying "This car goes 250 miles per hour!... as long as you don't drive it." How is this not fraud? read more

I was going to pick up cable boxes because I needed them right away. Talked on the phone and was told to go to Huntersville - with traffic 40 minute drive. Got there, waited 20 minutes, now one hour and was told I had to go to Lincolnton NC, the person on the phone told me the wrong location. Hour and 40 minuted driving so I called to complain to a manager. He told me they have a once a year $20 credit for having problems. Really, $20 credit and now I have to drive to Lincolnton, another 35-40 minute drive each way. A good company would have apologized and would have overnighted the boxes to me or have someone drive them to me. read more

Zero stars. Don't make the mistake of signing up with Charter! Look at Charter's terrible reviews everywhere. Consumerist magazine (not-for-profit subsidiary of Consumer Reports) calls Charter the "worst company in America." It's no wonder Charter went bankrupt a few years ago. This sleazy firm's business practices include: - cutting your satellite cable, then insisting that customer fight with Charter's 3rd party unlicensed contractor instead of honestly owning up to their mistake and correcting it. - moving your first bill due date ahead after first bill, without prior notification (told this is a "standard" Charter procedure on 2nd bill) - insisting that customers wait 45 days (unbelievable but true) for Charter's Autopay system to take effect, then warning that double payments may occur when customer attempts to make a one-time payment prior to the interim due date (as a safety measure) - moving from CSR agents in South Carolina to the Phillipines, where they lie to customers by claiming healthy account status with zero problems and confirming Autopay sign up weeks ago, then cutting off all services including (Emergency 911) shortly thereafter, without prior notice - migrating from helpful humans to speak with or chat online (about no-service issues) to worthless automated systems - poor no-service reliability I really wanted to love Charter. Our credit history is well above 700 and we always pay bills on time. But after several serious attempts to cooperate with Charter, acting as a good customer to straighten out their billing errors, all of our attempts have been futile. I recommend that prospective customers view the 800+ complaints about Charter on another website, plus other sites, before wasting your time. Horrible Service. Tech came for a remote control issue, and a minor phone issue-- when he left our lines were crossed with a Reno, NV phone number. We are in Denver, NC! We couldn't make outgoing calls, no incoming calls, had no internet, no modem - so no network extender-- this meant no business calls, texts or emails from Friday through Monday. They offered to credit us $4.27. Ha-ha! I called trying to resolve these issues 6 times. No one ever called me back. Told me once the issue was resolved to call Billing for a credit for our trouble. Kept me on the phone 50 minutes trying to get a credit for all of the hassle. Ridiculous. read more

Absolutely unreal - first time they put a line in was 2006 and never came back to bury it after several calls!!!! Ya so 12 Years later - now tv is scrambled and cant watch anything now. I called on 2/7/18 appt. made for 2/16/18 technician came out looked and said a new line needs to be installed and he could not lay a temporary as it would go across road and get cut up - i called back on 2/27/18, 3/7/18 and asked what the hell is going on no one has called left message nothing - they have no record...imagine that so they said they would ESCALATE this and I should have a call back at 9:30 am - well it is now 5:30pm and so I called AGAIN - person escalated it higher and said someone should call within an how...LOL ya right - we shall see. So it has been a month with no calls nothing. Complete BS and they will refund me for my paid services for receiving no service on my TV. I presently use charter at my mountain house. we have cable and internet. I thought time warner was bad but charter is horrible. you can't get someone out to service you when they say they will come. it took us a whole weekend to get a serviceman out one weekend, he finally showed up at 3pm on sunday we told charter we were leaving for home around 3:30. it took a while for him to fix the problem, so it was really late when we got home. they can't mail you boxes or devices to your mane address, even though they mail your payment there, it has to go to the service address which we don't have a mail box. figure that one out. this company is so messed up, even the customer service reps. don't use charter in their own homes. that should tell you something!!!! our internet is out about every other time we try to use it. we are getting ready to change everything before our season to use our cabin starts. hope this was helpfull read more
