I've been going to Spectrum Dentistry for 4 years. Their offices are beautiful and each exam room has a TV you can watch during your service. They provide excellent care, always x-ray my teeth during my check ups. I'm not very fond of dental work, but they take care in their work and always prepare me for the work they are about to do. Dr. Shafiei is a wonderful dentist. I first started going to Spectrum Dentistry just for regular cleanings 2 years ago. Moji, Brenda, and Kimia have all worked on my teeth and they are all thorough and gentle. I then decided I wanted to correct movement that has happened since I never wore my retainer as a teenager. I am finishing my Invisalign treatment and having the crown for an old implant replaced. I am looking forward to when I finally get my crown replaced, because she's made sure to always get my approval on the shade and shape of the new crown and overall look of my teeth. She has sent back the crown 3 times now just to get everything just right. What's funny is that Dr. Shafiei was actually happy when I made the choice to not settle. She is a perfectionist and I couldn't be happier with how my teeth have turned out. read more

I've been going to Spectrum Dentistry for 5 years and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Everyone is friendly and the office is very clean. It also doesn't have that typical "dentist" smell, which can be so off-putting. It's easy to make appointments or re-schedule. They send a text and email reminder a few days before, which is very helpful. I really like Kimia & Amanda as hygienist; they are gentle while still giving your teeth the cleaning they need. My dentist is Dr. Sharifi; she's very thorough and goes over any areas of concern, teeth to clean better and addresses any on-going issues. A few years ago, I had to get a filling. After the filling, my tooth was extremely sensitive to cold. I called them up and they had me come back in and re-did the filling for no charge. Unfortunately, the decay had been close to the nerve so it was almost inevitable for the tooth to be sensitive, but after they re-did the filling, the tooth is no longer as sensitive as before. Bottom line: helpful, friendly, clean, and excellent dental service. Very happy and highly recommend. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Shafiei's for a long time, even before she decided to open Spectrum Dentistry. When I learned that she left the old establishment, and I had one of the other dentist worked on me it wasn't the same. I will say that she made such an impression (no pun intended) on me, that I knew I had found a dentist I could trust and was comfortable with. So if you do not want a Dentist that is personable and is skilled at her craft I wouldn't recommend going to her. Her Dental Practice and Staff are direct reflection of her, and the office is very comfortable. Unfortunately I have had my fair share much needed mouth work done, probably too much candy, but the results I have always been happy with. When I had issue with anything, whether it was discomfort from a temporary effecting my bite, or if something was out of my price range it was fixed/I was given options that helped me. The key was, I communicated like an adult and didn't sit quiet thinking anyone is a mind reader so I could b*tch about it later. They really want to hear your questions and concerns, so that you can make the best decision for you and not sell you on what you do not need. I highly recommend Spectrum Dentistry to anyone, and I do! Many of my friends and family are patience there too. Disconnect between doc and other staff. No transparency on how long appointment will be ahead of time so that you could plan the visit and block appropriate time. Came in for a clean up, sat for two hours, and had to walk out because they could get there treatment plan together and coordinate all of the staff. Would not recommend it!!! read more

I was always nervous about getting anything done on my teeth. Other dentistry offices are always so prepared to not address peoples fears of the dentist, while the staff here are empathetic and understand that some people (like me) aren't comfortable with getting work done, and they do their best to inform and comfort us along the way. Dr. Shafiei is very professional and understanding of my needs, while the girls at the front desk (Jasmine, Brenda and Lili) are always very helpful and available. The Spectrum Dentistry is more than a place where your teeth get magically fixed (yes, the expertise of the doctors is truly magical). Instead it is a full package: masterful dentists, nice relaxing atmosphere, front desk ladies (Lily, Jasmin and Bahar) are very hospitable, attentive and always smiling. I am a full time student and therefore do not currently have dental insurance. So I am a patient at a dental school for routine cleanings/dental needs. Had an issue that needed to get checked out on the weekend (the dental school has no weekend hours). I called and was able to get an appointment same day within a few hours of my call on a Saturday. The staff that assisted me Jasmine, Mojgan, and Lili were so kind and considerate to my needs. Dr. Behnaz Sharifi attended to me and quickly diagnosed the issue at hand, and assisted me as to what I needed to have done to remedy the situation. I can't say enough nice things about this office. Dr Shafiei is amazing! I had been overdue for a clean/check up and feared bad news from the dentist. Even though I didn't have the best teeth ever, Dr Shafiei gave me a lot of good advise and preventive techniques that have helped my teeth tremendously! I also didn't feel like it was expensive, as they did a thorough job, and threw in some goodies for free! My husband and I have been coming here for the last three years, and we are so happy to have found not just a great dentist, but wonderful staff and dental assistants. That whole office runs like a well oiled machine. I truly appreciate how they work with your schedule. My husband and I find it so nice to never be pressured into doing unnecessary tag on procedures. I have had to have a few cavities filled recently and I am always made to feel at ease and never have had more than same day soreness. Dr. Shafiei is gentle and checks on our your comfort and pain level throughout the procedures. That is a wonderful bedside manner. Amanda seems to be the one who always gives me my teeth cleaning, and she is fantastic!! Amanda takes the time to go over all information and makes sure that you understand and answers any questions or concerns you may have. Brenda is warm,friendly and well informed as is all the staff. On the administrative side, they are so well informed about insurance that they helped me figure out a few different ways to get the most out of my coverage, while keeping money in my wallet...who doesn't love that. My husband and I moved to Irvine about 5 years ago and needed to find a new dentist. The reviews for Spectrum Dentistry were outstanding so they were the obvious choice - although I am always a little leery of choosing medical services based on internet reviews. BUT, I wish there was an option to give this staff higher than 5 stars! Dr. Padideh (and the whole staff!) are extremely knowledgable while practicing above average customer service. My husband and I only saw this staff every 6 months but they always remembered us and the personal conversations we had, and always asked for updates :) These ladies know more about me than my hairdresser! I never thought I would say a trip to the dentist could be enjoyable, but this staff certainly knows how to do that. I will leave you with one last example of the amazing above and beyond service Spectrum Dentistry provides. Back in September, I was in the middle of moving and the car carriers had already picked up my vehicles leaving me with no way to get around town. My retainers had just been delivered to their office and they wanted to make sure I had them before we made our long trek to Texas... and Brenda the front office receptionist/office manager hand delivered them herself to my door. This is the most inefficient dentistry that I have ever encountered. They lure patients with advertising and a nice office, but more often than not make your visit take over 2 hours. The owner of the practice still needs pay off her student loans and it is for this reason I believe they take in too many patients, overschedule their days, and are more focused on getting as many patients through than the personal experiences of each patient. They are not respectful of your time, and when the customer inevitably gets frustrated because of this the practice is incapable of addressing your frustrations in a respectful way and instead becomes blameful and accusatory towards the customer, calling themselves "a health care provider" and therefore higher/exempt from being polite to their customers like a worker in a grocery store would be. Finally, the minute a professional dentist is ignorant to the point of view of a customer, especially if this customer is a minor, it becomes difficult to regard this person as a true professional (this has happened multiple times at this dentistry). I would absolutely not recommend this dentist, there are plenty of other more efficient and especially more caring dentist offices. read more

Going to the Dentist has never been one of my favorite things to do. Let's face it, it's often costly and comes without guarantees or warranties, not to mention rarely comfortable. The staff at Spectrum Dentistry has changed that perspective for me. They are all about providing the type of care that is going to result in healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime. There is a culture of trust and caring at this office that is evident the moment you arrive. I noticed a map in the lobby with pins in cities and countries all over the world. Dr. Shafiei explained that it represents the cities that people have traveled from to receive their dental care from her. Knowing that some of her clients have traveled from England and Jerusalem, China and Mexico to mention a few, gave me confidence that I made a good choice in Dentists. I moved here recently and was trying to find a new dentist that was gentle, honest, and reasonable. I can't speak in regards to Drs. Sharifi or Shafiei, but Dr. Goodarzi is the worst dentist I have ever gone to. I found a deal online to get a cleaning and X-rays for $49 at Spectrum Dentistry, and thought this sounded like such a great deal and a good way to try a new dentist. You get what you pay for, I believe. I'm not sure if they double booked my appointment or if this is normal practice in this office, but the hygienist was doing someone else's teeth, so Dr. Goodarzi did my cleaning. At first, I thought I was so fortunate, having the dentist do my teeth. But it became clear so fast that it was going to be a miserable experience. Dr. Goodarzi tore apart my mouth with her tools, and was done with the cleaning in 10 minutes. I've had cleanings regularly throughout my life--every 6 months--and I've never had such a painful cleaning, that left my gums aching and bleeding. I'm kicking myself for not saying anything to her, to stop her from being so horribly rough, because it was a truly miserable experience. While I was happy the tearing up of my mouth only lasted 10 minutes, I can't believe she could have done a thorough job in that short amount of time. Furthermore, she did nothing to make me comfortable and was completely silent during the cleaning. She simply cut up my mouth as fast as she could, had the X-ray tech come in and polish my teeth, and sent me on my way. If you want a gentle dentist, avoid Dr. Goodarzi at all costs. read more
