I had previously gone to this office for dental work, and it has always been incredibly pleasant, and I really think that's something considering a root canal was involved. But most recently I tried their new opus machine which they had told me about previously. I wanted something to smooth out some finer lines and thought I'd give it a try. If I could give this office a -0 I would. My son had seen Dr Lomboy once. It went ok so we decided to return. My son is now 18 and he chose to go alone. He came home saying he was told he had 3 cavities and needed his wisdom teeth out. They didn't give him a work up or dental plan. So I called and btw no one ever answers the phone. Finally spoke to someone and she was very rude to me. She quoted us an amount. But seemed unsure. So she said she would call me back. No call. I called twice and left messages. No call back. Finally I reached someone and asked for a final quote. She then quotes us a much higher amount. I said are you sure bc we have a very very good insurance policy. Again she got extremely rude the more I probed for an explanation. I then asked to speak to a mgr. she said she was the mgr. yikes. Okay I said maybe I should speak to Dr Lomboy regarding the findings and what should be done first etc. he never called me. So I called again and left a voicemail. Still no call back. I finally decided to just take my son to my dentist. One I've had for 10 years. They told me to request the quote and X-rays. As a courtesy my dentist would look it over. He saw no cavities. My son went in to my dentist and he retook X-rays and found no cavities and said his wisdom teeth were not ready to come out. Bottom line I would avoid Dr Lomboy office. Fraudulent information and doing work that didn't need to be done. No thank you. I found this office no to be dishonest and very unprofessional, especially when Dr Lomboy wouldn't return my calls. read more

My son graduated from basic training and needed a new retainer. Yup, broke the old one. My dentist couldn't promise me that it would be back before he left. My son was to be here on 25 days. Dr Lomboys office not only got him in quickly for the initial appointment, ordered the retainer and still left us with almost a week to spare. My son was unable to keep his appointment for a fitting, so I got them. Needed a slight adjustment on his valplasty, so here we are at 8 PM when they are closed. I've been going to the same dentist out in La Puente since I was a little kid so seeing Dr. Lomboy was the first time I decided to change it up- considering La Puente was just too far of a commute from my new place in Irvine. I was so impressed when I first entered the dental office- everything inside is super modern and clean. Each dental chair has a flat screen attached (with cable!). The TV can also be used to display the camera images inside your mouth - which I'll admit can be a little too close and scary sometimes. All the equipment they use is technologically advanced - from the X-Ray machine, to the cameras they use, and all the computer images they use to diagram the work needed to be done on your teeth. Seeing Dr. Lomboy was definitely a major step up from the dentistry I was used to out in the old barrio - where the nicest things were the crappy motivational posters on the wall and the swap meet style frames of mickey and minnie mouse. All of the work I've had done so far has cost a lot more than I'm used to but it is definitely worth it. Dr. Lomboy is a perfectionist and he really does take the time to do quality work on your teeth. Everyone there is really friendly and helpful. Danielle (who works with billing) is super helpful in finding out the best options and working with you and your insurance to work out the best payment plans. If you're new to the area or just looking for a new dentist I would definitely recommend trying this place out. read more

Dr. Lomboy was highly recommend by two ex coworkers of mine. I've been going to him for about 10 yrs. I had lots of work done, from root canals to crowns and even gum lengthening surgery. I grew up in Brazil and the dental technology back then was not the greatest so when I started going to Dr. Lomboy he suggested that I change out all my silver fillings to porcelain. It wasn't just for aesthetics purposes but since the old amalgam was starting to shrink, it was forming cavities around the old fillings. I did get them all replaced and haven't had any issues so far. I have a problematic #4 tooth which I was told (12 yrs ago) by a previous dentist that I would need to have it removed and have an implant done ASAP. Dr. Lomboy believes that keeping your natural tooth (as long as you can) is the way to go. He suggested a gum lengthening surgery so the crown would have more surface to "grab on". Over a decade ago, implants were not as popular as they are today , the technology wasn't there and I was scared to do it so I decided to do the gum lengthening surgery instead. It was painless and quite fast, I went back to work straight from the dental office. He has a great team working with him as well! His entire staff is super friendly and professional as well. His office open office design works really great, patients don't feel claustrophobic and you get to watch your own TV while getting your work done! Dr. Lomboy has always been very comforting and gentle with all his procedures which makes me feel less anxious. He was able to fix my smile without making me traumatized! I can honestly say "I don't hate going to the dentist". I highly recommend Dr. Lomboy! read more

I have been going to Dr. Lomboy for over 5 years now, and still love him and his staff! I have never liked a dentist as much as I like him, and am kind of sad I may have to switch because our new dental plan does not have him as an in-network dentist. He is such a perfectionist, really kind, and works hard to make sure everything is exactly as it should be. I have never experienced some of these claims other reviewers are saying about upselling, and recommending unnecessary work. If anything, I find Dr. Lomboy to be really conservative in his recommendations. He usually says, "I want to try this first because I don't want you to get a root canal if you don't have to", and he's never given me x-rays above and beyond what I need. Usually he'll just take an x-ray of the area around the tooth that might be bothering me to see exactly where the cavity is, and that's it! I can't remember the last time I got a full mouth x-ray done - except maybe my very first visit? Every time I need to get work done, they show you the breakdown of costs, so you know exactly what your insurance will cover and what you'll have to pay out of pocket. For example, I recently came in because I had a bad cavity, and that tooth was completely cracked and weakened because of the decay... so I had to get a crown. Dr. Lomboy walked me through exactly what that tooth looked like, why it was a problem, and what his recommendation would be. Then someone came over, pulled up a screen and showed me the price breakdown for the crown work. Dr. Lomboy even recommended that I do not get the nicest crown (the really white porcelein one) because nobody is going to see it since it's a tooth in the very back of my mouth. That sounds like the opposite of up-selling. Anyway, I trust Dr. Lomboy and his staff completely. I've also never had to wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room for an appointment either. That is an excellent streak considering I've been at this practice for over 5 years now! read more

I'm terrified of the dentist. I hadn't been for many years as a result, despite having insurance, and I'd rather have jury duty than go for a check up. That being said, I would highly recommend this place. It came heavily recommended to me, and I resisted for over a year before I just absolutely had to go. The place is clean and nice, staff are all friendly, and I swear there's no normal scary dentist smell at all to trigger the onset of your fears. They make sure you're comfortable and numb before they get into it via a rinse, topical ointment, or a shot. They use a bit of the ointment before they give you the shot, so even the needle doesn't hurt. I had a check up, deep cleaning, and two fillings done so far. I'll put it this way--I could've fallen asleep during the fillings (I can sleep through loud noises). Not because it was comfortable, but because it was so painless. I'm loyal for life to this place now. I'm also a firm believer that a good and painless dentist that you're comfortable with is worth every penny. However, being realistic, I have my own financial obligations and Dr. Lomboy worked with me on a payment plan option. I'd gladly drive from my home in LA to this place anytime. read more
