Dear Spectrum Customer Service, I have been a Spectrum customer for many years, using mobile, internet, and now TV service. Unfortunately, I have never experienced so many problems with customer service as I have recently with my TV service. The main issues are: * Lack of transparency and continuity: Each time I call in, there's no proper documentation or review of previous notes. I have to re-explain the entire situation, and nothing is followed through. * Misleading information: I was told by a technician on Sunday that the problem was a node issue. However, since then, no one has reached out, and I've received no updates or confirmation that the problem is being addressed. When I call back, I'm simply told to open another ticket instead of seeing actual progress. * Poor accountability: The service issues remain unresolved, yet Spectrum continues to collect payment without delivering the reliability or integrity expected. This is not how customer service should work. I would strongly caution others to think twice before choosing Spectrum, as customers deserve honesty, consistency, and solutions--not empty promises and repeated runarounds. This company had spotty service the whole three years that I used them. When I called to disconnect, I was not told that they would not pro so I would need to disconnect on the last day of my even if I was still there. I was not told that until I called to dispute my final bill which includes four weeks that I will not be living Where that service was. I do not recommend them as a service provider. ESPN and Red Zone sound goes in and out. Hubby pays extra to watch those specific sports channels. ESPN sound has been going in and out for years and now Red Zone has started doing the same thing. Hubby is finally fed up because he only wanted cable for sports. That'll save us over $200 a month. read more

I live outside Asheville. I received notification two days ago that my Spectrum internt service had been restored at my home, post-flood, the day before. It hadn't. I've since checked online (god bless the local library and its free WiFi) and there it says that there is in fact no service for my address. And, without internet service for more than two weeks now, I see that that my monthly bill for them, which they auto-billed me for yesterday, has INCREASED. read more

Awful customer service! Street-level line was down at my vacation home in Asheville and because I don't live there year-round, I was not aware the internet was out. One tech came and did not fix the problem. Another one came and verified that the service had been out for a whole month and fixed the problem. I have called multiple times to get a credit for the month-long outage. I spoke to billing on multiple occasions and also to tech dept who confirmed the service was out for a month, but no credit has been issued. During the last phone call I was told they would issue a piecemeal credit totaling one month's service, but it did not happen. If you have a different option, I recommend you exercise that option and not use Spectrum!! read more

Annual price increases seem to have averaged about $10. We started at $116 and we are at $238 for the same service. If you want to cancel a service they make it very, very difficult. I would avoid them. read more

Do Not Use Spectrun Today I called Spectrum to find out about cable service for my new home. I only asked questions about service that was available and costs for those services. I specifically told them that I was not ready to order. Later I received via email and order confirmation which appeared to be a bill for more than $100. When I called customer service, although they were able to remove this order confirmation, they told me that it was impossible to take my information out of their computers. The supervisor with whom I spoke was curt and although she was not overtly rude, she was certainly working at being unhelpful. Based on my experiences today, Spectrum's business practices are unscrupulous and their customer service is anything but helpful. I would NOT recommend using this company for any services. read more

Cable line burnt to pole from house. 1st tech wouldn't fix it cause of rain. 2nd tech fixed it but stayed on the phone bitching about it, and he removed my line amplifier. Internet would hardly stream paying for 300 Mbps. Takes 2 hours to upload a 3 minute MP4. 3rd tech, nice guy came out 1 hour late, no line amp. I have had enough of paying for 300 and getting 3 and they blame something else. read more

They lost $1000 a year in services from me bc they wouldn't credit me back for incorrectly billed Latino services when I'm scotch/Irish. Talked to a manager she would credit me $20 max. So I cut off my phone/all my Dvr services and went back to basic cable until the Super Bowl. Then Netflix it is! read more

The most unprofessionally run business I've ever experienced with the most miserable employees who are obviously making a statement about not liking their jobs and letting people wait and wait and wait while they intentionall y avoid eye contact with the frustrated customer and take their sweet time with every customer they finally assist. Then when done with that customer they immediately disappear to a back room as the waiting line gets bigger and bigger! They make certain to not verbally communicate with any of the many frustrated customers. I went twice this week just to return a cable tv box I no longer need and ultimately had to leave after waiting an hour each time without being helped. So I continue to have to pay $10 a month for a box I haven't needed to have because I have no means to return it and get it removed from my account. Disgraceful! read more

Worse cable provider of all time! Did think any cable provider was worse than COX Cable but I was wrong, spectrum is much worse!! They are slow and have mental issues on processing payments! Service is so expensive if you only need internet service. They are always trying to sell you TV bundles you don't need on pertinence of saving you money! Never mail your check the old fashion way, cause it takes them two weeks to process it but in the mean time they bug the hell out of you to pay online even when trying to pay on line doesn't recognize my account information to make payment! I have had Spectrum TV streaming service for over 2 years now. What a mistake. I just didn't know I had any options. I finally changed to YouTube TV and wish I had done it months ago. Not only do I get 100+ channels on YouTube ( compared to 25 on Spectrum TV Choice) but it only costs about $10 more. Plus I was amazed at the quality of the YouTube high-definition TV picture - so much clearer and cleaning and sharper than Spectrum. And Spectrum streaming TV used to turn itself off spontaneously at the worst times, like Final Jeopardy. WARNING: Spectrum buried a disclaimer on the last page of its paper statement (which I never saw because I pay online) that says they will not credit you for any unused monthly service. So they are billing me for $50 I will not use on their TV streaming service ($44) and broadcast charges ($22). What a rip off! Please, please do not buy Spectrum's streaming TV service. read more

One of their telemarketers called me to get me to sign up for their television streaming service. Seemed like a good deal and I agreed. The fellow said all I had to do was download the app and I would be good. I use an Amazon Firestick for television and he neglected to tell me that it would not work with a Firestick. I called immediately to cancel the service and request a refund. The service was cancelled but, after three months and three phone calls the refund has not been issued. It's only $14.99 but it's the principle of the thing. It took 30 seconds to sign up and three months and waiting to clear this mess up. read more

Your product is very poor.. your service techs need to learn a little about what they are doing and your customer service pretty much sucks. Can't even watch a movie without it stopping. Your internet service is so bad even free would be to much. Have to reset modem at least twice a day to use internet and wireless devices.. hopefully you will be bought out and replaced with another company. I've been a Charter customer for many years. It was always reliable until late December 2019. We now have so many outages it is impossible to watch a show on Netflix. Must resort to using my phone which is kind of missing the point of supplying Internet service. If this is not fixed soon I will be an ex customer. Update: issue resolved by Charter customer support. Asheville, NC Spectrum Service Disconnect - #1 you cannot disconnect service online... you have to call in to disconnect. #2 phone hold wait times are absurd... when first put on hold, the auto-respond system said "current wait times are more than 45 minutes". It took 1hr 50 min. before an agent was available to speak with. #3 Spectrum will not prorate your bill. If you disconnect service after the last day of your billing cycle, you'll be paying for an entire month of service even though you no longer have service. read more

Absolutely horrible product and customer service is practically non-existent. My cable froze up constantly and when I would try to call them for service, well I was arm wrestling with a computer phone and could rarely get through to speak with a CSR. I cancelled and mailed in 2 boxes via UPS and it took them 5 months to confirm they even received them. This was after providing tracking from UPS on 3 different occasions. They are way overpriced and their opinion of themselves is funny. The suck and i will never do business with them again. Don't waste your time or money with Charter, Run! read more

I have had spectrum for the past few years I have not been impressed with their service until tonight. We have moved recently and Have had a few problems transferring service. For the past few days I have been battling with some issues with my service and have talked to countless customer service representatives who were clueless. Finally, Joe from NY answered the phone. He was a very pleasant enthusiastic, energetic person. Here assured me that he was going to take care of everything and was passionate about his job. He did not let me down. I felt like I had someone finally on my side. He was more than accommodating he got the channels that I had been missing back, and scheduled an appointment to take care of the rest of my needs tomorrow. Where do you find that these days? I work for a large corporation myself. Finding employees that take pride in what they do is very important. I am very pleased that I met Joe today because I was on my way to cancel my membership and just get DIRECTV like all of my other neighbors. The day before Thanksgiving this past year, I signed-up for Spectrum Mobile, purchasing a phone through them, which they required, the LG K30. The rep on the phone was extremely informative and told me that I would easily be able to swap the K30, the lowest grade budget phone they had, for the Stylo 4, the one right above it, w/in 30 days, no damage to the phone. He did such a good job of selling it that I pretty much decided on that call that I'd probably swap, so I didn't buy a case for the K30--though I know better to buy smart phones w/o cases. I'm so frugal that I thought I'd try the lowest one first. The following Monday, it arrived, I activated it, but by the end of the week, the phone was still in pristine condition, I decided I wanted the upgrade. So, I called Spectrum, but by the time I got to a rep--after holding longer than expected--and discussing everything with her, Maria, and getting her to agree--after she cleared it w/ her supervisor--that I could have them credit me back $25 of the $35 re-stocking fee, knowing the mobile division was new and I was trying it out and b/c I'd been a customer a little while by then. By that time, though, I had no time to wait to arrange the swap as I was about to be late for work. However, Maria PROMISED that I would still get the credit, putting notes on the account, AND that she would call me back that following Wed. (this was a Sat.) a little after 1 p.m. when she arrived to work to proceed w/ the exchange. She never called. So later that day or the next day, I called Spectrum, spoke w/ a rep who sounded like he didn't know what he was doing, I think his name was Charlie, who said, in a very confused manner, that he didn't see any notes on the account, he put me on hold and couldn't get a supervisor on the phone to approve the $25 credit, etc., etc., so, he told me a supervisor would call me back. I told him that was fine--and I'd try to call back as well, b/c he obviously had no idea what to do--to which he happily said "no problem" and quickly got off the phone. No supervisor ever called back. And, I was really frustrated, so I decided I'd just keep the phone. By this time, it was half-way through Dec., so I was going to wait until an after Christmas sale to buy the case. On December 26, I was searching online, and my computer went down w/ a hacking error. The next day, the 27th, my phone slipped out of my hand when I pulled it out to show the police a pic of someone who had done a hit and run at my job. The phone is atypically slippery. The screen cracked all over terribly. And, I'm one who takes VERY GOOD care of her phones. Which only added to my ire that Spectrum had never called me back, twice, as promised, nor did the first rep notate the account w/ the appropriate credit, or the second rep REALLY had no idea how to navigate the system. In fact, the first rep who sold me the K30 was so informative, I asked if I could give a compliment. He said a supervisor would call me back after I got the new phone to get the compliment--and they never did for that, either!! I called on a Sunday in early Jan. to see if Spectrum would do anything about the cracked screen, which, of course, they wouldn't, when they're negligence in returning my calls and not doing what they said was the reason that I didn't have a case--and a better phone--They didn't even call me back to sell a better phone! That rep was very nice but in tech support, and she said she would escalate it and--you guessed it--have a supervisor call me back w/in 72 hours. I told her, really, I don't believe that'll happen and have no reason to, to which she answered that they were better about getting back w/ customers in tech support than in other depts, even sales. So, I said, ok. That I'd probably end-up having to call back myself, but go ahead and escalate it, which she did--I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK, for the 4th time. I really have no reason to believe that Spectrum gives a damn about their customers at this point. AFTER ALL THAT, they owe me a phone and a new case--for the Stylo 4. That's the only way to appropriately make it up to a loyal customer, who still subscribes to their internet service, for SO MANY errors regarding the same issue--When I was just trying to upgrade my phone and give them MORE money, and they told me, in effect, they couldn't care less about my business. read more
