So sorry but I can't review this place. Their website said they were open at 10 on weekdays; we got there about 11 o'clock. There was a sign on the doors that said "we open at 12" so we did some thing else and came back at 12 and waited until past 12:17 for someone to show up. we even tried calling. No one showed up and no one answered the phone. Maybe they have a great business -maybe not - we don't know. They need to keep current with their information for their public a bit more. A little sign on the door does not really help. We're frustrated so pretty probably will not go back. Sorry. We hope everyone's OK. read more

Giving one star so I can leave a review. Took my galaxy s20+ in for water damage. They contacted me and said they fixed the port and the phone was charging. Would contact me back to let me know if the screen was ok or not. Called me at 3pm on a weekday to pick the phone up by 4... said they were going mobile after that and I would have to contact them to pick it up... since then dozens of calls and voice-mail and no return... guess they needed my phone for parts... terrible terrible way to do business... ​ read more

Eddie was my hero over the weekend. I was in town, visiting from Texas, when my first night there, discovered that my iPhone's charger would not plug in all the way. I. Could. Not. Charge. My. iPhone. Overnight, I turned the phone off as I didn't have any other option--and the battery was already down to 33% so I was panicked to say the least. A quick look on the Apple Support app showed there was no Apple store in Asheville, so to Yelp I went. iSmashed NC popped up with some pretty good reviews, and my BFF (local) remembered seeing them at the Outlet stores. She took me there on Saturday, and Eddie was able to see me immediately. I told him what happened, and he quickly saw that something was stuck down in the charger port. Using a skinny tool, within seconds he'd fished something out of the port. I'd brought my lightning cable with me, and we tried it--bingo! It plugged in!! Less than a minute in the store, my iPhone was back in business--and Eddie wouldn't take any $$ from me. What a positive experience -- I wish all business owners were like him. By the way, my BFF even brought her 12 year-old's majorly-smashed iPad screen to ask about. Eddie talked her through her options, given the age of the iPad...he didn't try to talk her into anything, but gave her options. The battery in my wife's phone has had some wild swings the past few months and we're not looking to shell out hundreds of dollars unnecessarily for a new one so I looked into getting the battery replaced. iSmashedNC responded in a timely manner via Yelp and quoted $50 for a replacement, which is entirely reasonable. I dropped the phone off around noon on a Wednesday afternoon, provided my name and phone number, and was told I'd get a call when it was ready to pick up as I wasn't able to sit around for the (impressively short) 30 minute turnaround time. The only reason I had to knock a star off of my review is because I never received a call, and had to fight awful traffic to make it there by the time they closed to pick it up. The worksmanship is perfect, which is to say there's no indication anything was done to the phone and while the sample size is small, so far the new battery is holding up very well. I'd come back to them without hesitation if I need another phone repaired. They also offer a free tempered glass screen protector if you check in, which is a nice perk. Update: Eddie personally called to let me know that he did in fact reach out when the phone was ready, which I ignored as most calls from numbers I don't recognize are spam and there was no voicemail left from what I could tell. Either way, the fact he cares that much about his business and his clientele is easily enough to kick up my review to the full 5 stars and more than enough to ensure my repeat business the next time I need a device fixed. read more

Absolutely believe Michael and Eddie are the only true tech gurus in Asheville. They worked diligently to sync two un-syncable phones, and the phones are perfect. Why pay thousands when for less than $50,get a new battery for your cell phone! Very professional and performed the work while we waited!

A few weeks ago I had my wife's iphone screen replaced at a spot that was not iSmashedNC. Big mistake. Over the course of a month or so, just past the point for their workmanship warranty it began malfunctioning... the screen would be unresponsive at times, and the haptic feedback was making a noticeable buzzing sound. I was looking into purchasing a new phone for my wife when a friend suggested I stop by iSmashedNC first. I was hesitant, a screen replacing company had gotten me into this situation in the first place! After my wife nearly through her phone out the window in frustration, I decided to take her phone in. I explained the issues she was having, and that I was at my wit's end... do we need another new screen? Time to buy a new phone? He quickly disassembled the phone, diagnosed the problem, fixed the issues, and told me there'd be no need for a new screen, or a new phone. I asked him how much I owed him for the diagnosis and work, and he told me that it was free, should I need work in the future, come to him first. Which I most whole heartily will. I've had them replace phone screen protector twice. I thought my screen itself was damaged, but it was just the protector. It's a pain to do it yourself, and they do it expertly for just $10. Then two days ago I decided to replace the battery in my MacBook Air. Mac repair places in town wanted $150! I called ISmashed to see if they could do the job and how much it would be. Spoke with Adam W. who is their on-site Mac expert...he had a battery in stock for my particular MacBook Air and quoted me $70 plus tax. That is half what the Mac gougers in town want. I did not have to leave my computer; Adam fixed it immediately in less than 20 minutes, and it's good as new. I've had my iPhone's screen replaced 3 times and one time there was something wrong with the speakers, which I think something was "twicked " after changing the screen but they fixed it at no cost! Could not be more pleased with this business! Dropped my phone a few days ago and broke the screen. Called iSmashed NC and made an appointment for today. They came out to the parking lot (wearing mask and gloves) to get my phone. They returned it repaired in less than an hour and they were even able to replace the camera that had been acting up. This is definitely my go-to place for any type of mobile phone repair! Eddie is extremely helpful and, even better, is an ethical businessman! A couple of months ago my daughter took him her phone to replace a crack in the glass cover. She was expecting a bill of well over a hundred dollars, but Eddie examined the phone and told her the crack was in the screen protector only, not the glass in the phone itself. Needless to say, she was very happy when he asked if she would like to have him fix the problem with a new screen protector for $10.00!!! It would have been so easy to walk the phone over to his work area and then return telling us it was indeed cracked and we would have to buy a new--and very expensive glass screen. But he didn't want to cheat us, and was just happy for her that he could solve her problem that inexpensively. I am really impressed with his ethics as well as his abilities to fix all sorts of phone issues! If you have a problem, Eddie is the man to see at I Smashed!
