We brought a camera in because we weren't sure if it was functioning properly. Crystal Camera provided a thorough and honest inspection. They were incredibly knowledgeable, took the time to explain what they found, and didn't try to upsell us. It's rare to find a business with this level of integrity and customer care. It was truly an unexpected pleasure to deal with Crystal Camera. Give them a try! read more

GREAT shop! I bought a used camera that wasn't doing things like I thought it should. I took it to Crystal Camera Repair because of the great reviews they have. I asked them to check it out for me. They tested it and then spent about an hour teaching me how it really works. When we were done, after using more than an hour of their time, they wouldn't charge me a dime! I drove 3 hours to get there based on their reviews. I'm very glad I did. Based on my experience, I will make that drive again very time I need any camera work done. I think you should too. You won't regret it. read more

Had the absolute best experience! I brought in two cameras -- one of which I thought might need a replacement part and the other I thought might be beyond repair. They fixed them both in under 10 minutes and charged me nothing! I couldn't believe it. I asked if I could pay them multiple times, and they told me no. And on top of that, they were incredibly sweet and wonderful to be around. These folks are the real deal. Other spots will charge just for diagnostic. I feel extremely lucky to have Crystal Camera Repair as my local spot, and will take all my camera repair needs there moving forward. Take your cameras here! You won't find a more pleasant spot. read more

The best in the business. I've used their services to repair my Sony A7R mkII. I was sure my repair would cost a small fortune, and was surprised at how reasonable it actually was. Ive taken every one of my cameras since to them for sensor cleanings. I've never felt better about service in my life. They're great. Do not hesitate to stop in if you need a camera serviced! read more

They looked at all my cameras, declared them not fixable and didn't charge me. That is a business worth going to and getting things fixed. Next time. read more

It is such good news to find a good place to repair film equipment these days. This shop offers great service and at reasonable prices! They fixed and lubed my aging Rolleiflex as well as a huge LF shutter - both suffered from not having been used for years and slow/stuck shutters. They came back in very reasonable time, packed well, communicated well, and both work as well as new! The cost was very reasonable. Highly recommended! read more

What a pleasure! The focusing screen for the view finder dislodged inside my Canon 6D. I assumed this would be simple, but with cameras, one never knows. The woman at the counter, whom I assume is the repairman's wife (but I could be wrong), greeted me, chatted briefly, and immediately took my camera to the back. Within 5 minutes, she was back with the part in place. As she handed it to me, she smiled and said there was no charge. It doesn't get much better than this! read more

The lady behind the counter could not have been nicer! Or more fun to talk to! The guys in the back did two, easy (for them. Impossible for me!) fixes to my camera. While I waited . And for no charge . Best camera repair store around read more

I brought my two camera's in and the lady behind the counter was so kind and helpful I felt relax and that I was in the right place. She took my camera's to the back and some genius fixed them in no time at no cost to me. What a wonderful experience. Michaeline W. read more

I would imagine that most people walking through the doors of Crystal Camera Repair are not inherently in a good mood. Photographers, we like to be anywhere with our camera, except for a repair shop. That said, the folks at Crystal were so utterly pleasant that it'll give you a cavity. True Southern kindness. On this lucky day, I was blessed to have dropped my DSLR on its face, completely wrecking a lens (don't worry, it was a Nifty Fifty 1.8, valued at $100). The glass was a lost cause, BUT the lens had gotten stuck at the release ring. I feared that there may be damage to the body... She says they'll take a look at it and to wait right there in the lobby. 10, 15 minutes later, the lens is extracted. Another piece of plastic was blocking the removal. She tells me there was no damage to the ring, they tested it with another couple of lenses. I breathe a deep sigh of relief. And then she tells me "no charge." Flabbergasted. So this review is my payment to Crystal Camera... Thank you for your kindness and attentiveness! Awesome service. read more

Did you smash your lens diving to get that perfect action shot? Perhaps you had your subject collide with you while barreling down a mountain on a bicycle, maybe your focus ring gave out from years of normal use, or if you're like me someone walked into your studio and knocked over your tripod because they were completely oblivious to their surroundings shouldn't have been there in the first place without my permission and then I had to postpone the shoot and it made me look like an idiot even though it was their fault and I'm totally not bitter or holding a grudge and I'm definitely 100% over it. Whatever the case, if your camera needs fixing this is the place to take it. I was thinking I would have to pay thousands of dollars to replace a bunch of glass, but was able to get three lens repaired for minimal cost. The best part was, they told me it would take a week to fix because they were slammed (a week that's completely outrageous! Just kidding, that's super reasonable), but they had the repairs done in 48 hours. All three lens are working great since then. Highly recommend you go here, you might enter in a foul mood, but you certainly won't leave in one. read more

Very professional. Make you feel at home. They care. Reasonably priced for what you get. Family owned & operated. We HIGHLY recommend.

Came in and they fixed a serious dent on my lens/UV filter immediately for only 5 dollars.

My son was cleaning his camera and had gotten the shutter /mirror off track and was unable to get it back together properly. He takes photography for the sports programs at UNC Chapel Hill and was so disheartened at having to send it off for repair and the time lapse involved. He had checked with another local camera shop in Asheville and was told to expect weeks before it could be addressed and repaired. He texted me and said he found Crystal Camera Repair online and that there was good reviews. I went by there last Monday, explained the problem, and the technician onsite was able to make the repair while I waited. The hospitality and customer service was simply perfect. I never write reviews, but felt compelled to do so this time after such a pleasant experience with this business. read more

Barbara and the technician helped me out of a jam. Very nice folks here, you can't go wrong!
