Thanks for the quick diagnosis ! They didn't charge me because they didn't fix anything; they gave me an honest opinion and diagnosis.

This is a great place to have your phone or tablet repaired. The owner, Ryan, is an entrepreneur…read morewho decided to create his own shop at a young age. That made me want to support them even more because this is a local homegrown business. Their prices and speed are extremely competitive too. I had my iPhone X screen and battery repaired/replaced for $150. My daughter's iPhone 6 got a new screen for $55 and her iPad 6 screen was replaced for $100. I know the parts are aftermarket and probably not the same quality as true OEM. But, if you are replacing parts on a phone, why pay top dollar? At that point, it makes sense to just get a new one. I certainly don't like paying for repairs to my devices. But, if you need it, this is the place. Since the staff seem to be vested in the business, they really care. Definitely better than the mall kiosks and other repair shops. Only unusual thing is their storefront is in an office complex down a long interior hallway. I assume it's because the rent is low and they got a lot of space cheaply. But, just know that it's not your usual "retail" location storefront. Overall -- Highly recommended.

He offered a glass and lcd repair for my galaxy note 8 for easily $40-$80 less than any other shops in the area. He had to order the parts, but he got them in just two days! My screen was shattered so badly that glass was falling off and the lcd had a black spot and lines across the screen, but now it looks like it's brand new! I was worried that a screen replacement on a note might make the stylus less responsive, but it works like I just bought it! Great, friendly service that I would recommend to anyone who needs their phone fixed.

DixieAudio Video Electronics Service - Wonderfully restored Kenwood 8300, my baby, with one of the two AR4x vintage speakers, also repaired a few years back.

I call Dave "The Wizard". Knoxville is lucky to have him. He clearly has a tremendous amount of…read moreexperience with repairing audio and video equipment. This is evident by how effortless he makes the work involved seem, despite the intricacies and labor required to perform the repairs. I have thus far had two 50+ year old speakers restored, and a mid 70's Kenwood integrated amp. The prices charged for the work seem fair. Dave is also easy to deal with. It takes him a few weeks to get to working on the repairs, but this is because he has a healthy backlog of repairs to complete. His workshop is filled with equipment he is working on. Demand is high, for good reason: this man is reliable and fair. If you need something repaired, I recommend taking it here.

I dropped off an old console record player 3 weeks ago because I wasn't getting any sound out of my…read moreright speakers. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks before he could look at it. 3 weeks later I called and was told he hadn't looked at it yet but he would today. A couple hours later he called back and confirmed what I already knew, that I had no sound from the right channel. He also said that there were problems with the record player that had been working perfectly before I dropped it off. I asked for a price to fix it, and he said at least $125 plus parts. I told him that the record player had been working fine when I dropped it and just needed sound from the right speakers. He told me again that it would be at least $125 to fix the right speakers. I pressed him to explain how much of the $125 was parts and how much was labor and his request was "most of it is labor". I asked again, how much he would be charging me for labor and how much was for parts, to which he replied "it doesn't matter, that's what I'm charging you to fix it." I then asked to come pick it up. When I went back to pick up my console, he surprisingly did help me load it in my car, at which point I said "your price is reasonable if that's what it would take to fix it, but I need to know what I'm paying for." I might as well have said nothing because he literally ignored my statement and walked in. I recommend avoiding this business. I am confident I would have been overcharged for repairs rendered, and most likely charged to fix parts that weren't broken again. If I could give zero stars for this experience. Update 9/26/18: I took my console literally across the street to Ammons Electrical Repair and they had it fixed and working the very next day for half the price. If you have the choice, choose them. Dixie was 3 weeks, no repairs, and a quote of "about $125". Ammons was one day, $85. They also confirmed that Dixie was full of it trying to fix my turntable which has no issues at all.

I had a TERRIBLE experience here and suggest that this shop be avoided for repairs at all costs…read more I received awful communication and customer service. Experience: My playstation 5 initially started giving me an over heating message. I took it in to be assessed. I was advised they would give it a cleaning to see if this fixed the issue and call me back. I received a call that they thought it might be the liquid metal but they were out of it and that they would order it and could not give me a definitive date of when it would be there. I was not called with updates. I was only told "they would call me". I had to call the next day and was told the liquid metal didn't arrive next day and that "they would call me" when it arrived. I finally received a call from them and they advised that the liquid metal was not doing the job. That SOME of the games were working per Jacob ( Store Owner) but not all. He advised that he thought this might be a motherboard issue, and said he could order a new power supply and try that. I finally got word that they had the unit ready for pick up with a new power supply, but that it would only partially run some games. He advised I had a few options. Replace the motherboard, run as it ( partially running) or just buy a new unit. I decided to leave is and play my playstation only partially working. As it turns out, the playstation wasn't even assembled when I got there. The technician hastily assembled it and brought it out to me. When I got home, there were pieces janging in the unit, and it was Completely dead and non usable. I called them and came back to ask what was going on. They advised that "the motherboard must have given out between the time they gave it to me and when I got home". Anytime I would talk to these guys, they acted annoyed and bothered. They were not friendly to deal with on the phone. Their communication as far as updates go was abysmal. I went in to ask for my cleaning fee refunded due to all of this poor service and advised by the front desk that he didn't have authorization and that he would have the owner call me by noon. He never called me. I had to file a dispute with Visa to deal with this. 0/5.
