We mostly watch recordings, and too often we can't access them - system is down. On top of that, they recently made a change that makes it even more cumbersome to switch from one recording to another, as they are forcing us to listen to their own channel while doing so. They called me 5 times within an hour while I was working to tell me that they will be charging the entire balance in less than a week to get the internet cut back on. Two days before I get paid. Cool. I guess I won't have internet for a total of 6 weeks. I've been with them for over two years and they're happy to let this happen. Can't use a credit card and can't do a payment arrangement. T-mobile has been flexible in the last couple of months that I've been struggling. The payment arrangements have been keeping me on top of my phone bill. I was harassed by Spectrum's billing manager named Mark...I signed up with spectrum under a business account and have never had so many issues. I have been lied to by multiple agents about the set up process just to find out weeks later that things were never completed or done incorrectly. I finally got everything figured out with ring central and they told me to call spectrum because after a whole month, they never assigned an agent to my account. I have spent over 5 hours on the phone in 2 days trying to explain my issues and have been met with complete unprofessionalism and have been berated by your agents. Since I have not been able to use your services due to YOUR agents issues, I asked for a reasonable request of a refund for my phone service. Your manager said they would only give me $20. I was explaining the experience I have had and requested the full $40 since we are new and have had countless issues. Your manager named Mark in the billing department treated me with more disrespect than I have ever been treated with by a customer service rep. He called me rude and started yelling at me even thought I kept my calm the entire time. He took his bad day out on me and it left me in tears after the amount of stress he put me under. This phone call happened around 3pm on 5/28 and really needs to be assessed by your quality control. I am beyond upset with the harassment from this agent and will be reporting this experience further and looking for another service who respects their customers. read more

Wanted to give spectrum a second chance... they just reminded me why I cancelled them in the first place. Paid for the gig they sent me older equipment that the tech said didn't even support that amount. So the first month I was paying for internet but not getting it. I called customer service they offered a $15 credit and then only gave me a $3 credit. Then on top of it all I cancelled the internet and phone but got told I'd have to wait til the end of my billing cycle because they don't prorate. Also got told that because I wanted to keep my cable that I had to purchase a dvr. What kind of crap is that? I stream everything. What's the point of the app if I'm required to pay for an extra device. No contract except a month to month one and whatever else they want to add to the bill. If I could give no stars I would. I tried to go to the bundle of internet, mobile phone and TV for what seemed like a good price, November 23, 2023. The streaming TV service, even with upgraded internet, buffered often after being on for anything over 2 hours (watching a movie). Every phone call or chat was a sales pitch to upgrade internet or defending the service quality. Tried to go from streaming to traditional cable service, so requested a cable box which was delivered, but the technician had disconnected all the wiring in my service box, so was informed it would require a service call and charge to reconnect. I suffered through 3 hours of chat and phone calls on January 23, plus an hour trip to return the tv/streaming equipment which included being told the Spectrum stores are just sales sites and I couldn't return equipment. Today the billing email confirmed that the service still hasn't been disconnected, so being billed for services I can't access. Today, 30 minutes of chat time and another 25 minutes of on hold and 3 representatives to get the service turned off. The representatives are polite, but focused on upselling services and don't seem to follow through on requests. I hopefully have the tv service gone now. The savings aren't worth the frustration and aggravation of services that were just installed. I always thought Cox in Louisiana was bad with constantly increasing bills, but this was much worse. After receiving a new Apple phone from spectrum mobile, it would not pair with me existing phone. After multiple conversations with representatives, I sent my phone back for a refund in its existing packaging. No physical damage on the phone since I was never able to use it. Today I receive an email saying that the phone was damaged upon delivery and that I would not get my refund. Please be vigilant when dealing with this service. Totally garbage customer service team, unless you escalate the issue. Spectrum put a different customers check into my account and when I tried to use their support line, I couldn't get answers from their chat bot. Then, I continued to try to get in touch with someone and they stated I had a "credit" to the account, because no one could figure it out. Months later the customer who wrote the check wanted their money back (which makes sense) and now Spectrum is charging me for their mistake! Their customer service admitted to making mistake but refused to fix them, they talk over you in a sassy and degrading tone, clearly trying to piss you off enough to hang up or swear at them. I had to get escalated to the cancellation team and Emily on the team was wonderful, realized that the customer service team, Barbara and two other people, had zero intention of helping me resolve this issue that the caused and fixed it immediately. Emily was kind and more than helpful, it did take over an hour of wait time, but eventually the issue was resolved. So, if you run into an issue with Spectrum, just threaten to cancel and that team will help you out more than the "customer service" team ever could. read more

FYI - If you're trying to get this deal with Spectrum Mobile or already signed up for it, apparently they charge for both lines for 2 cycles, and after THAT, the second line is free for 12 months. -_- Nowhere in the advertisement or the offer details did it say that, and no one told us that when we were signing up, but it does say "subject to change," so I guess they can do whatever they want. The man I spoke to on the phone said that he doesn't know why they're doing it that way, and it makes him mad that they weren't telling people when they signed up, but he think that it was something with how the system works and that it wouldn't do it without charging them the first 2 cycles first. We have been a Spectrum customer for three years since we moved to the Austin area. We have had TIVO DVR recorders for about 20 years and they were always supported by our cable providers including Spectrum, although apparently very reluctantly. They told us they supported TIVOs until we signed with them, then they told us they knew nothing about TIVOs and we would have to use their DVRs, which we did rent. One day, when returning one of their DVRs to a Spectrum store, I mentioned how much I wished Spectrum would support TIVOs, and the young man behind the counter said they did, opened a drawer in the counter and offered me a Cable Card for use in TIVOs. TIVOs require the Cable Card and a Tuner Adapter, which is also provided by the cable provider. The Tuner Adapter is made by Cisco, and has been generally recognised as "junk technology" since we first encountered them about 20 years ago. They have to be rebooted often and sometimes are replaced but apparently never improved. This weekend one of our two Tuner Adapters failed. The Spectrum tech who came to our home did his best to make it work. It didn't, and it turns out Spectrum not to support them any more, although he told us a Spectrum store might still have them. They don't but some suggested trying to buy one on Amazon. This renders our DVR basically useless. Most channels can still be recorded, but at significant loss of quality. Of course we can rent a Spectrum DVR, but we tried that when we first moved to this area and Spectrum told us they didn't support TIVIOs. Not true, and their DVR was terrible. When I returned it, and commented that I wished they supported the TIVO, he said they did and promptly set us up. I guess we should be thankful Spectrum didn't charge us more for no longer supporting the TIVO. read more

The statement said there would be a $1 increase, but they did not send out a separate notice of this or any increase, but actually doubled my rate. Who looks at their statement each month for routine billing? I only found out of the significant increase when my autopay notice said I was charged double what I normally pay. I acquired your email from a sister location( 5th street). I initially bought an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I utilized the phone for the length of the 14 day return policy. I returned the 13 Pro Max Only to have the system go down at your store(Hancock) and at customer support. I was then told by customer support and the Manager on duty(Christopher Carver) that I would not be held responsible for the system going down. That the next step would be to put in a ticket that needed your approval,stating I still was eligible for the correct return policy. Not realizing what the process was to entail, I went along with process. Maria,the manager at the 5th street location,informed me that I was to get a receipt and or transaction number to basically document what occurred with the returned iPhone 13 Pro Max. Like I said, I just assumed this was the process. The manager stepped in to help and not once made anyone give me any documentation on the proceedings. A series of things went wrong trying to port the number back to my original phone(Samsung galaxy note 10). That phone was also entered in the system wrongfully. I bought the phone originally through spectrum when I had internet service at my (1913 willowcreek drive #207 Austin,Texas 78741)address. I was told by Maria(Mgr)that complicated things as well. Time passed. Thanks to the staff and the manager nothing had been done. The staff and manager kept stating that the cherwell ticket,I'm told or something similar,had been put in because the Manager handled it himself. Time passed in which I kept communicating with spectrum support. Who then gave me the wrong initial advice to switch sims from the 13 pro max back to my galaxy note 10. Which I learned also messed things up. Support told me to go back to Mr. Carver which at this point I was just upset. I told him I was going to get the police involved. In order to get it documented since the phone was being reported missing and I thought stolen. Also,so that the police could pull the camera footage. Mr. Carver insisted that he still had taken care of the whole situation personally.. I sure as heck did not want him anywhere near my acct. His repeated dishonest has rubbed me the wrong way. The latest update is... I should only have 512******* as my only number and unlimited service. No extra line and no new service. I also feel like after almost two months of dealing with this, I deserve for my account to reflect more stability than what it is. The embarrassment of it all is unheard of. The fact that now Mr. Carver,obviously, thinks it's funny for doing this to a customer that you've had for a while. I'm sure he thought it was funny at the very beginning. The last we spoke,he smiled at me in a room fool of people and claimed it would be and was taken care of. I gave in and filed a police report since the phone was insured. Mr. Carver has done poor piss job at representing Spectrum. I don't know why now that I've told him about the police he keeps sending me emails saying the was received but past the 14 day return police. Know he's supposed to get you to sign off on it. Each email dated from a different day. Almost like he's trying to sent it to me and I have it which is BS!! He knows it.. To do this to me and not send me any emails and not to call me and not allow me to talk to you. It angers me so. At this point everyone in my office knows..(doctors and nurses and MAs) have followed me through this process. They all think I should put my whole experience on social media. I called to stop cable and keep internet. After 3 hours of internet pricing from $70 to $80, I was given a price of $39 with a special program. This idiot Romero Gonzales said I had to buy a phone for $39 and pay $3. a month. That was cheaper than paying $70 a month so I did it. When I signed up for the program I realized it was for medicaid and low income people. I don't need that, I just wanted a fair price. So I could not get the program because it was not for me and not once did I say that I needed financial help, just that I wanted to pay what they advertise for new customers. The agent was a bully and pushed the phone as I found out later, he gets a bonus if I sign up for a phone with them so I was on the phone off and on with him and others for 3 hours, to finally get a $41. a month fee which I could have got in 15 minutes on the first phone call, but the guy wanted a bonus. He was trained and did, ask me at least 8 times if I would sign up for Spectrum phone. They can't provide decent service of internet and TV so why would I want their phone. There is the trick of cutting your service on certain day of the billing or. you will find you cut service one day into new month and pay for the full month, no refund. They are terrible, cheats, con artists, rip off artist, I have nothing nice to say and sorry that I don't. read more

After years of their yo-yo billing I finally got google fiber on my street. Signed up and called Spectrum to cancel. Their retention dept literally would not let me hang up under threat of not allowing me to cancel service! I spoke to a supervisor after a 20 minute hold and it was no better. Returning the equipment in Austin was super smooth-unlike most other people trying to do the same thing at the Alterra location. Because they believe we live at the other unit EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE HAD MULTIPLE CONVERSATIONS WITH MULTIPLE TEAM MMBERS AND DEPARTMENTS CLAIMING THEY FIXED EVERYTHING!!! So now having to call these incompetent people again, they are telling us we have to reactivate it and call and set up another appointment and wait for the next available day someone can come out, even though THIS WAS THEIR MISTAKE!!!! GREEDY company!!! Found out I was being charged double what new customers are being charged. I asked for an account review to see if any discounts could be applied and was told no, I have the cheapest rate. When I told them the rate I'm seeing online he said "oh well if you want that you have to disconnect services for 30 days." What??? I shopped around and found MUCH cheaper internet providers for MUCH higher speeds with a locked in price (all fees included) that won't change. So I went to cancel my service and NOW they want to offer me discounts. When I told them no, I've already gotten new services they went through their spiel of "okay we offered you lower prices and you declined." I definitely had something to say about that. Telling me there are no discounts available and I have the lowest possible price until I'm trying to cancel and you want to keep my business? SHADY. Long story short, you can find much better prices and much better companies, stay away from Spectrum. After 19 years with Spectrum and before that 20 plus years when it was Time Warner we are leaving! The absolute worst customer "lack of care" service and too many lies from the "retention" department ( that we recorded) to count. We will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and writing to the Attorney General's office. Many other "victims" have written here and their complaints are valid. We've been lied to so often since March if I weren't so fed up and angry it would be laughable! The billing department blames the retention department and the retention department blames billing! I can deal with honest mistakes but stupidity and down right lying to us is where I draw the line. Your conversations with them to clear up matters will cost you at least an hour of your time only to have to call back again when you find that they still haven't corrected your bill!!! This one is dangling with caution tape from the wires and has been for months with zero resolution.
