The best! A local hot spot for over 70 years! The chicken is flavorful, moist and never disappoints. Don't sleep on the corn nuggets with syrup. The fries are crinkle cut, the coleslaw is creamy and the portions are perfect! The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The establishment holds the retro vibe strong, and I love that!

I absolutely love this place. Don't get around Collegeville often, but when I do I make time for Speck's. Let's talk food first - awesome menu of inexpensive and tasty fried chicken. The chicken is always perfect and I especially appreciate that I can order specific pieces (I prefer thighs over breast). The fired chicken is not super greasy and it really hits the spot. The offer the standard sides - French fries, fired pickles, etc - all are great. These people know how to run a fryer! The service is manly self-serve but the staff behind the counter are always friendly and quick with a smile. Last but not least, it's a pleasant step back in time. You'll know it and love it when you see it, but everything from the dining tables to the order microphone is a wonderful reminder when fast food was still a quality dining experience. Keep up the great work, see you next time I'm in Collegeville!

Speck's chicken is immaculate. I don't know how else to say it. This is the perfect fried chicken. I've had fried chicken everywhere. I've been to 38 states and eaten fried chicken at least once in most of them. Speck's is the best. Speck's does broasted chicken, which leaves the meat perfectly cooked and impossibly juicy. It's salty, but not too salty. It's crunchy but not too greasy. It's perfect. Their sides are exactly the kind of blue collar sides you'd expect from a chicken place. Their mac & cheese is thick and creamy, not thin, crunchy, and gentrified. Their crinkle cut fries are divine. They have an excellent selection of local, craft soda bottles. What more could you possibly want? I will say this: You should dine in. You want that chicken in your mouth the nanosecond that it's possible. It's still good as takeout or delivery, but it is best when it's as fresh as possible. The dining area is super casual ticket-and-table style, laid out like a diner. They'll make your food super quick, don't worry. What are you waiting for? Why did you read this far? I said the chicken is perfect, didn't I? Go! Eat! Keep this local staple in business so I can keep getting their chicken!

first time trying. Write a review about this chicken a long time ago and happened to be in the area. We got a four piece, a drink, cheese, fries, and macaroni salad. All was great. Chicken was definitely fresh and hot and juicy. Fast service and very retro inside. A hole in the wall that has good food.

Why can't you put cheez wiz on a cheesesteak anymore? Other than that the broasted chicken is still great!

A nice little take out joint for your fried chicken desires. 4 pieces should be good for each adult in your party. The cole slaw was the diced up kind. It just doesn't feel as healthy to me. 10 onion rings for $5 was also a bit steep but they tasted great. Fun montco fact - they have Fanta birch beer on tap! I've never seen it anywhere else before so definitely tap into this hidden gem if you are a sodafile like myself. Food is about on par with kfc but the homey feel and old school vibe of the joint just makes the whole experience so lovable

Three and a half star chicken. Four and a half star corn nuggets. Three to three and a half star cole slaw. Overall, not sure if I rounded up or down with my final rating. Speak's appears from the outside to be like an independently run KFC. Don't get me wrong, the quality is much better. However, that was the easiest way I could describe the set-up. You walk in, order by number of pieces of chicken, and order sides al le carte by size. You wait a few minutes and your order is served. Then you enjoy! Other notables: The place was kept clean, which I suspect might be harder in a close to fast food type establishment. The staff I interacted with were very pleasant and patient. COVID seating is available with tabled blocked for social distancing. Really, get the corn nuggets.

Chicken time. Broasted . Big pieces. Fried corn. Yummy. Skip the pulled pork special, it's not their thing. Chicken is. Do chicken. Oh and the corn with a side of syrup. Sounds strange but it taste good!

    The best fried chicken anywhere!!
