First time customer stopped by while in the area. I didn't know their hours until I walked up. It was 4:50, they close at 5. Was "greeted" by a not so friendly associate telling me they closed in 5 minutes. It's not a very big showroom, I just wanted to take a quick look around. I did not have a good experience here. It was not easy getting someone to answer my question. When I did have a minute with a designer (?), she first corrected my pronunciation of the tile name and then she criticized the tile I had chosen. She at least tried to be subtle by asking questions like, "Why did you choose THIS tile?" and "What made you decide not to just use your countertop marble for the backsplash?" and "Did you think about how THIS tile would look in THAT room?" I definitely felt that she was talking down to me. I was not wearing heels and pearls, nor did I have my private designer in tow...I guess I just wasn't up to their standard. read more

If you're looking for something a little unusual for a renovation project, or simply want to see a wide assortment of tiles to get ideas for your own place, I would highly recommend a trip to Specialty Tile. The tile showroom has tons of designer and art tiles to look at. The staff is very friendly and can answer any questions about tiling or decor questions. The tiles they offer are definitely more expensive than what you would find at say either Home Depot or Lowe's, but that's why they are a specialty store. They stock the more interesting and hard to find selection. Next time I have a tiling project at home, I'll be heading back there to brainstorm ideas in their showroom. read more

A good showroom and good selection of tile across price points, but the awful customer service warrants one star. And I am not writing this review after one visit. I've been in the store three times and each time was ignored. Not even hello. They look up from their desks and look back down. The first time I chalked it up to everyone being busy. The second time I thought it strange that I would have to wrangle a salesperson to buy thousands of dollars worth of tile, but I really liked the product so I did. But three strikes and you are out. I went to the store, prepared to buy as I have a remodel taking place in the near future, but was turned off after walking around the store several times and not even getting a welcome from any of the several associates in store. So. They have almost any kind of tile you can imagine. Customer service is pretty terrible. If you have an hour to wait for someone to talk to you, then this is your place. To me this is like a sign that says "I don't care if I sell anything". Very disappointed. read more

Very disappointed with the service at the store. 1. Went in once and got a quote. That sales person did not inform us that there would be a substantial shipping charge added 2. Went in again to purchase. Was told of shipping charge and to the stores credit I did get a discount. Was told delivery would take 5 business days 3. After 7 business days, no delivery. Called and leaned that order hadn't even been packed/left California yet. And no phone call, anything to let us know. Cancelled order and will now have to figure out how to keep project on schedule after this. Unhappy read more

I am a designer and in the middle of a kitchen project and was looking for some high end unique tile. I was intending to spend some good money on tile for my project. I have never worked with this company before and now I know why. From the moment I walked up to the front door (which was locked at 3pm and then opened begrudgingly by an associate who couldn't even greet me with a smile) I knew I should have just walked out. There were at least 6 associates in the store and maybe 2 customers. I walked around for 20 minutes looking at the selections and could not get a single person to answer my questions. I am very disappointed and disturbed by the looks I got from the young woman sitting at the front cubicle desk. The two associates in the side room were even more snobby as they flirted with each other and purposely turned the opposite way from my direction. I understand that people are busy and everyone has bad days but I will not except feeling belittled and shunned out of a shop. I will NEVER go back there again. I made an appointment with a sales representative at the Miami Circle show room and took time off work to work on a bathroom project. I had seen a beautiful Italian tile in the show room but she was very reluctant to even check on availability and delivery for me. Instead, she led me to another choice which I was only half happy about. It turns out she never called me back or email me to let me know if either of the choices were available. I ordered from Kyle Hamilton. She was great. All was fine until there was a problem. My tile for the second bathroom is very low quality and has many flaws. It doesn't look like the sample provided at all. The manager agreed with me and thought that it looked like it has dirt on it. It is not dirt. It is in the stone. Anyway, the solution was to send me an email with several disclaimers attached. The manager said that she and the stone provider agreed that it was just variation in natural stone. My floor looks it has bird droppings all over it. I am very upset and Specialty Tile doesn't care. I would NEVER recommend them. read more

He is sending me the samples free of charge and has been a tremendous help. Everyone at the store were very knowledgeable and helpful. I recently purchased tile to update my kitchen backsplash from Specialty Tile. Even though my project wasn't large, I was given great customer service and the tiles that they helped me pick out look great. People think someone from HGTV came and redid my kitchen. Selection at Lowe's would not have yielded the same results but I actually had someone with design experience help me make my selections. Highly recommend. I have bought Specialty Tile for 6 bathrooms and 2 kitchens. Their tile is the same as what I found in other tile stores, only costs more. But I used them because my builder was in the habit. The problem is the staff. They ignore you when you go in acting like you are a bother, especially the older heavyset woman. They say they will return calls but don't. I've never seen a smile or descent greeting from them. It's a really unpleasant place to go. Specialty Tile in Doraville may be better. No wonder they only get three stars- not sure how they rate that good. Notice the better ratings are older. read more
