Another installed incorrectly sized PPF, which later resulted in significant paint damage that would have otherwise been protected on a GT3. I swore off PPF on my last three cars... until now. I had to learn the hard way that the installer matters more than the product. I've lived it. Each car I've bought from new has been paint corrected & ceramic coated but I avoided PPF altogether due to PTSD. I'd pick up a few stone chips & live with it... I figured that's a much better alternative than risking another knife job. Looking back, it was more of a compromise than a solution. Fast forward & a few weeks back, I took delivery of my PTS 992.2 Carrera T & started to seriously consider giving PPF another chance. Especially since I also have a 991.2 GT3 Touring that has been fully wrapped from new, & the quality of that work has been flawless. 7+ years later. So, I really wanted the same protection & quality on my PTS T. Try to lock in as much of the factory fresh paint as possible for long term ownership. I researched & visited dozens of shops around the Bay Area. Along the way, I discovered that the shop I ultimately chose was the same company that wrapped my GT3 at their Orange County location... Protective Film Solutions NorCal Lorenzo (manager) & his team; Rafael, who handled the paint correction, & Jeff, who installed the Xpel ultimate plus PPF & applied the Xpel fusion plus premium ceramic coating, delivered exactly what I was hoping for. They guaranteed their installs would never cut into the paint & the results would be perfect! I was able to visit the facility a few times to see their finished work & was invited back during the PPF process. The install was completely seamless, & Jeff walked me through his install process. The attention to detail & level of craftsmanship is genuinely impressive. It's an artform! That transparency went a long way in rebuilding my confidence. Lorenzo has stayed in touch throughout the entire process, coordinated timing while the car was in transit, & even held an opening over the holidays so I could drop the car off the same day I took delivery. First class service from start to finish. They've documented the entire process, from factory paint issues at drop-off (etching, scratches, etc.), to the PPF install & ceramic coating application. For a PTS car I plan to hold onto like my GT3, having the documentation & knowing the paint was properly corrected & protected from day one means a lot. Huge thanks to Lorenzo & the team at PFS NorCal. I'm back to believing in PPF again & there's no other shop I trust more with my Porsches at this point. The work is by no means cheap, but ultimately, peace of mind is everything. Choosing the right shop to do it right the first time is all that matters.

You don't need a hose hook up or an outlet as they have all of that in their van. The detailer showed up early which I appreciated and patiently waited while I cleared all of the crap out of my car. He was quick, but very thorough! We will be using them again for our regular washes at the house as you cannot get this kind of attention to detail at the local busy car wash.

I had to book 2 weeks in advance due to limited time slot availability, so plan ahead accordingly. Although Jeff and I agreed on a set time, I was able to drop the car off a little earlier due to a last minute errand. I came to tint my 2023 Model Y, and Jeff made sure what I chose was the best fit for what I was looking for. I wanted my tints to match in color especially when the back windows are already darkened, and Jeff was able to confirm that with a tool. I ended up going with 20% fronts and 50% rears, and the color match is pretty close to what I was looking for. My car was ready in 3 hours, and the entire process was quick and smooth. There are things to do a short drive as well if you're not from the area. He even puts tape to remind you to not open windows for at least 2-3 days! I made sure to wait a week before reviewing, and the tints turned out really good after the "cooldown" period. I have no complaints, but just wished they would tint the front windshield haha. I contacted Carzwerk in Fremont roughly nine months in advance to schedule paint correction, PPF, and ceramic coating for an incoming Porsche. Services I've used for all of my previous cars. Throughout that time, I proactively kept Jason (the owner) updated on production delays, shipping status, and even when the car left Germany. At no point did he reach out to request updates or confirm scheduling. This was surprising given our history. Over the past several years, I've had four Porsches done through Carzwerk and have spent over $20,000 on services, not including additional tips. I've also consistently referred others to Carzwerk on Rennlist and other forums. The only prior issue I can recall was with my GT3, where the shop accidentally installed 991-sized rear quarter panel PPF instead of the larger 992-sized, which later resulted in pitting around the edges. Once discovered, I offered to bring the car back so the shop could correct it or, alternatively, have it fixed at my dealer during the one-year service. While it appeared to be an honest mistake, Jason was reluctant to address it. He ultimately chose to reimburse me, which I later paid back in full in good faith, despite the error originating with the shop. Fast forward to my current car: despite nine months of notice, I did not receive an estimate until the day before delivery, at which point I was told Carzwerk could not take the car for another four weeks. In contrast, several other reputable Bay Area shops... OCDetailing, Protective Film Solutions, Dynamic Detailing, and Elite... All periodically checked in with me and held an opening based on my estimated delivery day. Carzwerk made no effort to do the same. The lack of communication, follow-through, and consideration for a long-standing customer was disappointing. While I'm sure they have no shortage of business, dismissing a loyal customer and years of referrals reflects poorly on how repeat clients are valued. In short: I gave Carzwerk my loyalty and business over many years. When a mistake occurred, it was not fully owned, and somehow I became the problem. That is not professional, and it's not how long-term customer relationships should be handled.
