I'm disappointed to be writing this given my history with Carzwerk, but my recent experience warrants it. I contacted Carzwerk in Fremont roughly nine months in advance to schedule paint correction, PPF, and ceramic coating for an incoming Porsche. Services I've used for all of my previous cars. Throughout that time, I proactively kept Jason (the owner) updated on production delays, shipping status, and even when the car left Germany. At no point did he reach out to request updates or confirm scheduling. This was surprising given our history. Over the past several years, I've had four Porsches done through Carzwerk and have spent over $20,000 on services, not including additional tips. I've also consistently referred others to Carzwerk on Rennlist and other forums. The only prior issue I can recall was with my GT3, where the shop accidentally installed 991-sized rear quarter panel PPF instead of the larger 992-sized, which later resulted in pitting around the edges. Once discovered, I offered to bring the car back so the shop could correct it or, alternatively, have it fixed at my dealer during the one-year service. While it appeared to be an honest mistake, Jason was reluctant to address it. He ultimately chose to reimburse me, which I later paid back in full in good faith, despite the error originating with the shop. Fast forward to my current car: despite nine months of notice, I did not receive an estimate until the day before delivery, at which point I was told Carzwerk could not take the car for another four weeks. In contrast, several other reputable Bay Area shops... OCDetailing, Protective Film Solutions, Dynamic Detailing, and Elite... All periodically checked in with me and held an opening based on my estimated delivery day. Carzwerk made no effort to do the same. The lack of communication, follow-through, and consideration for a long-standing customer was disappointing. While I'm sure they have no shortage of business, dismissing a loyal customer and years of referrals reflects poorly on how repeat clients are valued. In short: I gave Carzwerk my loyalty and business over many years. When a mistake occurred, it was not fully owned, and somehow I became the problem. Carzwerk is the best! I have brought multiple cars to Jason for a few years now. Had a wide variety of services done over the years and was happy each time. Always kept me up to date with pictures during the process. He would always answer all the questions I have and would always suggest multiple options. I had taken my all original 1987 Supra for a basic detail and it came back looking great! After purchasing my used 997.2 Carrera had years of neglect by the previous owner. I got introduced to Jason through my brother who raves about his detailed work. I was a bit skeptical before I met him as I've had a few of my other cars clearbra'd at other so-called great places. During our initial meeting, I was pleasantly surprised as he answered all my questions patiently and was very thorough in asking additional follow-ups. I approached Jason @ Carzwerk and had my car paint corrected, wrapped and coated despite it being a further drive for me in Fremont. Short Version: Jason is an absolute professional at his craft. After my experience, I'll have no hesitation bringing future cars to him. Long Version: Paint Correction - is singularly the most important step in the entire process, because all your wraps and coatings won't matter if the car paint wasn't prepped correctly. This was Jason's excelling point, in that he has a critically sharp eye and uber high standards for proper paint correction, and the experience (see his portfolio of very different cars, with very different starting conditions) on what and where a car needs correction most. Jason educates you patiently, on different levels of what constitutes as good condition that you'll also start seeing flaws in factory new car paint. (Hello dealer swirls) Wrap - Carzwerk carries and can install wraps from different vendors (XPEL/Suntek/3M) - this is usually a big plus, reason being them not being affiliated with any company. They basically will choose the most updated, suitable wrap based on car color (yes it matters) and what each vendor had to offer at given time. Coating - Similarly they also carry coatings from different vendors (Ceramic Pro, Opticoat, Kamikaze). So again, not affiliated with any company, and I believe Ceramic Pro has stricter control (compared to OptiCoat) on who they authorize to install their products. Personalization - There is a high level of subjectivity in paint correction/protection, and Jason meets each customer in person, and tries to understand what the customer needs (and does not need). After going over my car with me, he laid out options and gave honest recommendations based on my answers, and did so even when if it meant less billings for him. Personally, I think his always-full schedule translates to him having no interest in upselling anything anyway. End Product/Reflection - On pickup day, Jason showed me the condition of the car under his studio's special lights, which highlights prominently any paint defects/swirls. Just bought a "brand new" car, but it doesn't shine like a new car? No problem, Jason @ Carzwerk to the rescue! Jason is a car enthusiast x professional detailer x perfectionist who are passionate about making you, and your car happy. He has a Chemistry background therefore he really knows the stuff that he's using, and he only uses the quality product. He is also very personable, thorough in explaining his offerings and make sure the customer completely understands the expected result before committing to getting the work done. He also pointed out a few imperfections with my headlight assembly therefore I can get it fixed immediately under warranty, otherwise I might end up spending much more later on. Spot on. My experience: Bought a new Mazda CX-3 in deep blue (very dark) three weeks ago, I've noticed that the car doesn't shine like other new cars do and it gets dirty much easier then my old car (in white). Therefore I've started my search online about paint coatings that could make the paint shine, as well as making easier to clean. I've gone through numerous forums, reviews and stuff and I've looked for detailers as far as in San Diego, and then I stumbled upon Carzwerk. Looking at their website I was really impressed about their work therefore I've decided to get a quote from them. Jason replied my email in light speed, offered me a demo in the shop and to show me around the shop. I happened to be in the area, therefore I figured - Why not? Replied via email to schedule an appointment for one hour later, and I was in the shop in no time. Jason throughly explained their products, without boring me. (I am easily bored) I already knew what I want therefore I asked Jason for a straight estimate and the price he gave was definitely very reasonable, and I was half-sold. A week later, I returned to Carzwerk to get the Ceramic Pro Silver package done, as well as XPEL Protection Film on my headlights. They even offer free shuttle after dropping off your car if you "Really" need one. When I picked up my car, Jason took his time to share how to correctly clean my car's surface without scratching it. He also told me where to take my car for auto carwash. With the coating, having a carwash at **no-touch** type auto carwash at least once a month would be suffice to keep my car clean! (YMMV) There is also no need to wax the car every 3 months! That said, Jason does recommend bring your car back once a year to perform maintenance on the coating for a minimal cost. And the other thing that I like about Jason is that he kept me posted during the entire process. It was amazing to see the transformation of my car bit by bit. Recently, i purchased a set of Red StopTech Big Brake Kit for my car and i was advised by Jason that StopTech Red calipers tend to lose its color easily due to the factory's cheap coating. I asked around from many people who had the Big Brake Kit about the issue and they all said what Jason told me! As a result, Jason did a ceramic coating on my calipers and the rotor hat for me. I was very pleased by the result as it made the red color more brighter and vibrant. In addition, i went tracking and tested out the coating with the high heat generated from hard braking. Two years ago (in 2016) I contacted Carzwerk via their website. I had really obvious swirl marks all over my '13 Subaru Impreza which appeared after I brought it to a car wash where they manually dry your car...apparently with the wrong type of towel. The damage to the clear coat was so severe, it could be seen on an overcast day. Within minutes of my leaving my contact info, Jason (owner) called me to inquire about my situation and offer his opinion on how to proceed. I brought my car into the shop the next day where he greeted me with a genuine smile and automatically went to inspect the damage before confidently saying that he would be able to remove the damage completely. Jason proceeded to describe and detail his product(s), method, and customer service ideology before presenting me with a discounted quote and asking for a day and a half of work time. Fast forward a day and a half. I arrive to pick up my car and to my surprise, my paint was completely corrected. Two coats of Ceramic Pro Light were applied and cured and it looked amazing. The gloss and hydrophobicity of the ceramic coating were exactly as advertised. Suffice it to say, my car was practically brand new again appearance-wise. Jason's services didn't end there. He pointed out some chemical damage on the plastics of my roof racks. I had known about it but didn't ask for it to be addressed. He asked if I had some extra time and spent an extra hour trying to restore the rack using a few different compounds he thought could work. In the end, I can't speak enough about Jason's willingness to go above and beyond to satisfy not only the customer's expectations, but also his own. His honesty and workmanship really made this an A+ experience. Fast forward two plus years. The gloss after washing my car is still visible. Granted, I do garage-park my car, but it's obvious the ceramic definitely protects the clear coat well. Update: I was at Costco today and when I returned to my car, there was a huge scuff on my driver side rear door panel and a ton of fingerprints from the person trying to rub it off. Unfortunately, the person chose to leave without leaving a note. Ridiculous. I swear, Karma will be a bitch. Anyways, I remembered Carzwerk was in the same area so I texted Jason. As always, he replied very promptly and asked what he could do for me. I just wanted his opinion on whether the scuff could be removed easily. He was at lunch nearby with another former client, but asked me to drop by the restaurant for him to check out the damage. That blew me away, but then again I wasn't really surprised considering how accommodating he was a couple years ago. When he saw the car, he was genuinely happy to see that his hard work two years ago was still showing. In fact, the double coating of ceramic helped to thicken my native clear coat which minimized the damage caused by the Costco cart. Without hesitation he asked me if I had time later in the afternoon for him to work on it. He said it wouldn't take very long to buff it out. I was so appreciative of his flexibility. Later that afternoon, I show up with a boba in-hand as a show of my appreciation. He rinsed the damaged area before claybarring. The clay bar removed some of the scuff. Then he used two different pads and rotary tools to buff out the remaining marks. After 20 minutes, it was like the damage never existed. And after chatting for awhile after the work was done, I realized that he didn't even intend to charge me. Instead, he thanked me for remembering him and appreciating his efforts and services. I told him I owed him another boba. That debt will be paid. I will most certainly continue to support Jason and Carzwerk. Jason at CarzWerk is my go to detailer! I am extremely picky when it comes to letting people work on my cars, especially when it comes to the paint. In the past I have always done "details" myself as I thought I knew what I was doing. But then took note of Jason's work when my friend had his heavily abused track car detailed by Jason. I could not believe the transformation. It looked, not only clean (which was a 1st for this car) but it had a showroom finish! I had to know more so we sat down and he thoroughly explained his detailing and paint correction process. I never realized just how much work goes into a proper detail. He showed me all of the special tools that he uses, sometimes even developing his own and all of the unique chemicals and coatings that he specifically brings in that most other detailers haven't even heard of. I've had Jason work on my car twice now. Both times I had the same excellent experience. The second time I brought him my car he had two cars in the shop that were easily 10x the cost of mine, but he didn't treat me like I was 2nd class. The first time was soon after I bought my new car. I wanted to keep it pristine. I originally wanted a Ceramic Pro Gold package. But he recommended a different package after understanding what I wanted and how I planned on using the car. The car is a daily driver and would be seeing a lot of miles. I also wanted to keep the paint as clean and new looking as possible. He was very thorough in explaining what each product/service was for and made sure that I understood everything. In the end he recommended the Silver package with PPF (paint protection film). This way I'd have something to protect against rock chips since the coating alone won't do that. And the ceramic coating would keep the car shiny, keep it clean longer between washes, protect against UV. Basically keeping the paint as new as possible. The process involved a full wash, minor paint correction, then applying the PPF, and finally the ceramic coating. He also wanted me to come back after the coating fully cured so that he could explain how to do a proper car wash and prevent swirls from occurring during the wash. Unfortunately, my car was hit in a parking lot and the fender and PPF on the front bumper were damaged. After getting it repaired I brought the car back to Jason to reapply the PPF and coating. He worked with me to make sure my insurance covered as much of the cost as possible. Jason is passionate about his work and has gone the extra mile each time I came to him. Jason helped me put the ceramic pro coating on my brand new te37 couple months ago. Feels amazing after the coating applied when I got back from track. Simply water spray and most of the brake dust came out (project mu 777 race pad). Just need simply wheel cleaner and the wheel look like brand new! I recently had my Infiniti FX50 in for XPEL & ceramic coating. I worked with both Jason (ceramic coating) & Cyrus (XPEL). All I can say is they GET customer service. Both are passionate about cars & ultimate professionals. They are perfectionists about vehicles like I am, so the experience was extremely enjoyable. I travel quite a bit, so it worked out great for me to drop my vehicle off & let them do their magic while I was away. They typically don't handle more than 2 vehicles @ a time to ensure the quality level is properly maintained. I had been doing quite a bit of research on various clear bras & identified XPEL as seemingly the best product out there to protect my vehicle from rocks, etc. While there, I observed the ceramic coating that they use. All I can is that this stuff is magic, you have to see what it does for your vehicle. My car now has a deeper & more vibrant color & it repels water, dust & even bird droppings (I've not tested this one yet!). If you are looking for an operation that is trustworthy, crazy about vehicles & as conscientious as anyone I've come along, look no further. I had no doubt from the time I dropped off my vehicle it would come out great. By design, I returned about a month later for some minor "normal" corrections to the EXPEL "clear bra" & was quickly on my way. Check them out, their customer service is 2nd to none. Give this place 5 stars!! Came in to debadge my car and Jason did a perfect job. He quoted me a price on the phone and even though it took him some extra time/labor he stuck to the price. He had to cut and polish the paint multiple times to get rid of the ghosting and he did a perfect job. Jason is the man! My car has been tracked and abused. But after a few years the shine is not what it used to be. Jason had the car for 2 days and now the car shines brighter than when it was brand new. The paint feels smooth as glass also.
