I sent inquiries to PremierXpress and one other place, and Nick got back to me quickly with a bundled price that included both PPF and tint. I asked and got quick answers on what products they used (Stek Dynoshield and Llumar IRX) and we scheduled a day for the work. I ended up upgrading my package with additional coverage (windshield UV/IR film and PPF rocker coverage) - no upsell, I just inquired on the day of and decided it made more sense to do the additional work. They marked all the locations that had flaws and said they would do the touch ups before the PPF application, which I wasn't expecting and appreciated. Nick also saw some swirls on some of the areas where PPF wouldn't be applied and offered to do paint correction on the entire car, which was generous and again appreciated. It's busy here and while the initial work did take longer than originally estimated, things looked very good when I picked up the car. There were a few areas that needed to be addressed, but this is routine and there was a 2-3 week follow up already scheduled to address any areas that needed attention. PremierXpress really focuses on using as few seams as possible, so the work is quite time consuming and precise. Anything that shows up and you point out is taken care of with no push back - they really want you to be happy with the work and final outcome. That being said, as a customer, you have to be fair too. On a clear PPF film, not every square millimeter needs to be covered. There are a ton of bends, crevices, and areas where it would be incredibly unlikely for a rock to find that exact location. With clear film, any very tiny areas that may not be perfectly covered aren't really visible. So having fewer/no seams in areas that ARE visible in exchange for tiny areas in remote locations that aren't visible - it's a good tradeoff. So friendly service, fair pricing, being willing to go above and beyond doing things like paint correction on areas they didn't need to work on - all added to a great experience where the outcome is my car is protected, looks great, and the owner emphasizes that if anything comes up, just come in and he'll take care of it. Couldn't ask for more. They also have a nicely stocked drink refrigerator that's very nice too. Would definitely be happy to bring a future car here for tint or film - they do a great job and have such a customer and satisfaction focused attitude.

And that's just for the adults!! ;) After getting the keys to our new minivan, we headed straight to Eighty8 Auto Customs, which prides its business on over a decade of auto expertise and military-level attention to detail. The owner, T, is a marine and combat veteran. He's honest, knowledgeable, helpful in recommendations, and extremely skilled in his craft. He shared the options for tint and after hearing his non-salesy, low-pressure spiel, we decided on the Llumar IRX tint. This was the flagship tint and maintains maximum cool temperature of the interior. Although it is the priciest tint, we decided that it was like investing in a Yeti cooler vs. and off-brand. Buy once, cry once!! The workmanship of the tint was incredible. Everything was hand-cut (vs. machine) for a truly customized install. The interior does feel much cooler than before and even though we opted for the darkest tint (5%), we could still clearly see from the inside out just as easily as before. I highly recommend Eighty8 Auto Customs. The owner, T, takes a lot of pride in his work and avoids any shortcuts. We are now an extremely happy minivan family thanks to our very first (and most important) modification!!!

For my truck, Yosup recommended ceramic tint and walked me through several tint percentage options. He explained that adding 5% over the factory privacy glass would make the rear windows extremely dark and suggested that 15% would provide a better match to 5% on the front windows. I appreciated the honest advice and his willingness to share his expertise without any pressure. In the end, I decided to go with 5% all the way around because that was the look I wanted, and he was absolutely right. It is extremely dark, but exactly what I was looking for. The customer service was just as impressive as the quality of the work. Although my appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM, Yosup accommodated my request to drop the truck off early in the morning so I could pick it up after work. He even finished the job ahead of schedule. It is hard to find businesses that combine great craftsmanship, honest recommendations, and exceptional customer service, which is why I continue to trust and recommend YS Window Tint.

I changed it up to 25% front, 70% clear windshield with a 4 inch 5% black tint strip on the top of the windshield. Solid work.

M Car Window Tint, Santa Clara, CA An excellent recommendation came from a friend who was very happy about getting his car window tint from M Car (location South San Francisco) about a year ago. I am very glad to have my car window tint from M Car as well. I booked the appointment with a very professional and thoughtful staff member over the phone and a week later got to meet at 8:15am her first to talk about work to be done in the Santa Clara shop. First, she explained the options I have and showed samples of tint that were available. She gave also info that I could wait for my VW Tiguan work in their office since I had to wait for the car there and had no one to pick me up or drop me off back to the shop. She even suggested where the nearest Starbucks coffee shop I could go to walk to since it was early in the morning. Nice morning walk. A good area near business buildings and residences, I walked to get my coffee and had breakfast. I returned and waited for about a half hour and was told then the work was completed as promised earlier about a 3 hr job required. Excellent work of course and credit due to the car window tint specialist(s) who worked on my car. Clean and professional work for sure. Don't trust your new car with Silicon Valley Tinting. Read this first…read more I chose Silicon Valley Tinting because their website promises workmanship that's "done once, done right." I paid $1,836 for front-half PPF and front window tint on my brand new, off the lot Tesla my first brand new vehicle (and dropped it off on June 16 expecting exactly that). My original priority was PPF, since Tesla paint is known to chip easily and protecting it was my primary concern. While my vehicle was at the shop, Cesar offered to install the front window tint as well, and I decided to have both services completed at the same time. Here's what happened instead: The driver's window tint developed bubbles, and I was told at pickup to return for a one-month follow-up. I texted Cesar on July 17 to schedule that follow-up. I received no response until after my husband called him, and I wasn't able to bring the car back until July 29. On July 29, the Andrew confirmed the driver's tint needed to be completely replaced because of the bubbles. I upgraded from 20% to 15% during the redo and paid an additional $50. After picking up my vehicle, I noticed what looked like a piece of lint or debris trapped under the driver's window tint. Andrew told me it would go away on its own. It didn't. I also noticed damage to my driver-side window seal that I had not observed before the work was performed. Andrew photographed it and said he would look into it. The PPF I paid a premium for still had a bubble on the hood. I brought all of these issues back to the shop. Andrew told me they didn't use any tool that could have caused that type of patterned damage but said he was "trying to get to the bottom of it." I then had Tesla Service independently inspect the window seal, and they provided a repair estimate of $126.90. I requested a refund in writing. Cesar responded that he would resolve the matter if it was determined to be related to their work and asked me to bring the vehicle back a third time for another inspection. We also spoke by phone, during which he disputed that the shop caused the damage and again asked me to return the vehicle. I declined. After one failed tint installation, a redo that still came back with a defect, a remaining PPF bubble, and damage to my driver-side window seal that I had not observed before the work was performed, I no longer had confidence in returning my brand-new Tesla to the shop. My final message requesting a refund from Cesar went unanswered. Even with a warranty on paper, I was not offered a resolution. One failed tint installation. A redo that still didn't get it right. Three unresolved defects. A refund request met with silence. Mistakes happen. What defines a business is how it responds when those mistakes are brought to its attention. I gave Silicon Valley Tinting a second opportunity to make things right. Instead, I was left with unresolved defects, no resolution that restored my confidence, and a refund request that ended without a response. I hope my experience helps you make an informed decision before handing over your keys.
