GoEBITS was able to see me that same day, conduct a quick diagnosis, and do the repair all in their own shop - no need to send out to an outside repair center. Because if you've got back ups or are absent minded, then they'll keep your stuff for a long time if you forget it's there. A little over a week ago, my cat decided to water test my laptop. Long story short, a glass of water spilled into (!) my laptop. The laptop sat immersed in this pool of water for nearly 20 hours. Everything was complete toast. Although most of my files are in the cloud, especially the most important ones, I decided there might be the occasional file or folder that I might not notice tomorrow or even a year from now. I decided it would be best to retrieve the contents of the drive on the laptop for peace of mind. I left the laptop with them to do an assessment first. That assessment was ~$80. After their assessment, they indicated that the contents of the drive were retrievable and gave me an estimate of $400 to retrieve the contents of the drive (the $80 would apply to that figure). I decided it was worth the cost, if for nothing more than that elusive peace of mind. I also needed a drive to put the contents on (or provide my own). Since I didn't have one, and didn't want to bother with purchasing a 3rd party drive, they charged me $140 for a Toshiba Portable Storage device. So, for about $600 (w/ tax) I got everything off the lost drive. Was it worth it? Without a doubt. Would I go back? Hell yeah.

I heartily recommend Daniel's work. He gave my ten-year-old Macbook Pro a new lease on life. Now I…read moredon't need to pay 2 arms and 2 legs for a new laptop in the middle of the 2026 rampocalypse. Daniel was able to replace a dead, swollen battery and a bad speaker, at a price which I considered reasonable, and with amazing speed (considering that those items are glued into the top case of the laptop). He told me which day he would be able to start the work, and arranged with me to bring it back in on that day. The work was completed exactly as promised, and I had it back in my hands before I even missed it. He also gave me some excellent advice. For example, this laptop has the famously flaky "butterfly" keyboard and it was typing double-letters. He was very clear, before starting the work, that the job to replace the keyboard was difficult and risky (again, because it's glued into the top case). It's hard to source a good keyboard, and might result in a keyboard that would just go flaky again. So he just stuck with the agreed-upon battery and speaker fixes. (Later, it turns out that I was able to replace the individual flaky key switches myself without having to remove the keyboard at all.) His most valuable advice was to teach me about the existence of a third-party tool ("OCLP") which would allow me to install OS 13 onto the laptop even though Apple only allows OS 12 on it. After getting the laptop back from the battery replacement, I tried it, and it's working great on OS 13 now. This was important and well-timed advice, because Chrome is going to stop releasing updates for OS 12 this month. And while I was in the shop talking to him, he was multitasking and helping other customers, too. He matter-of-factly fixed a bad audio driver on one lady's Windows laptop as they stood there at the counter. I'm very impressed and satisfied with the work. It's like having a new laptop again. So if you need your laptop repaired, definitiely bring it in and have him give you an estimate. I wish I had done it sooner.

Every person there is great-respectful, honest, and sometimes even funny. They actually communicate with you and tell you usually within a half hour how long something will take to fix. And here's a shocker for Seattle, they'll tell you if they've encountered another problem that may take longer/and or that it wouldn't be worth fixing. The bottom line is, if I could build a large company that fixes devices, I would start with Jet City as the model, and build every store exactly like it.
