Incredibly disappointed in the professionalism and customer service with Jesse. He came out and quoted me nearly $4000 (yes that's correct) to remove branches on my back lawn from half a tree that had been cut down in order to restore power after a storm. Over the next 2 hours that quote went to $3300, then $2900. I called another company who removed the tree limbs the same day for $400 (yes, that is 90% less than Jesse's initial quote). He kept telling me it would take 6-7 guys to remove the tree debris from the backyard. The guy we wound up hiring had it done himself in an hour and a half. Shame on you, Jesse, for trying to take advantage of a single female in the aftermath of a severe storm that knocked out power to over a million people in this town. read more

Incredibly disappointed in the Quoted Price (very expensive) and quality of the work ( destroyed my Pecan Tree) performed by Specialist Tree Service LLC. The job was to trim my Pecan Tree to eliminate dead wood and minimize storm damage. The owner quoted me $1150 (I got a quote later for the same job for $800). The Pecan tree was full and beautiful at the start but after they were thrown, they had removed almost all the leaves from the tree (so much so I don't know if it's going to survive). This is after, when I saw the 1st limbs being butchered, I got the manager to instruct the workers not to remove as much greenery from the limbs, but they did it anyway. Therefore, I would not allow them to trim a pecan tree ever. read more

Jesse was able to schedule a survey of my property within 1 day. He was very attentive to my concerns regarding raising the canopies and thinning the branches of 5 trees on my property. Each tree was over 30 feet tall. One 60 year old pecan tree was of particular concern as it's large trunk was within 6 feet of the house with its branches extending over 40 feet in the air and covering 50% of the roof. Although I didn't identify to him certain specific branches on several of the trees that I particularly wanted removed, his crew showed up the next day on time and without any comments from me, removed every one that had I was concerned about and left all 5 trees in fantastic shape, and not a loose twig or leaf on the property. I have lived here 30 years and have my trees pruned every 3 years. Specialist without question was tops. Because they were removing large limbs in sections over the roof, I had a BBB roofing inspector come out the next day, and he confirmed that there was no damage at all to the roof, from Specialist's work. I have a rent house located literally around the corner from the address listed for this company. There is a large tree in the back yard with a couple of large branches that extend out over the roof of the house. There was a third, but a few weeks ago, heavy winds broke it off and it fell onto the roof, creating a hole that pierced the roof. I called Specialist to see if someone could go by the house and give me an estimate to remove the two branches that extend over/near the house. I told him the gate is not locked and that my renters were well aware that I was sending people to give me estimates. The man I spoke to insisted that I meet him, so I could point out to him what 2 branches I was talking about. I re-iterated to him that it is a rent house and I do not live there, so it is not convenient for me to make a special trip for him to take all of 30 seconds to see what I'm talking about. I assured him my tenants were aware and that access to the back yard would be un-restricted. I also reminded him that the branches I was speaking of were obviously identified and there should be NO CONFUSION WHATSOEVER concerning the branches I needed removed. Still, he would not agree to give me an estimate. Remember, the guy LITERALLY LIVES FEET AWAY from the rent house I own. I reminded him of this fact and even told him it was not like he would have to drive across town to do this. In fact, his house and my rent house share the exact same rear fence line. Nevertheless, he refused to help me, saying that maybe he would come by this weekend or never. Honestly, if a company is too lazy to give an estimate he probably doesn't even need to leave his back yard for, imagine what other kinds of shortcuts they take. One last thing, I spoke with 2 other tree companies who did not hesitate to offer to go by and get back with me with an estimate. read more

I phoned yesterday and Henry came out within 45 minutes, gave a fair quote and said they would be out the next day. They arrived at 7:40 am and had cut down one tree and trimmed two other trees and completely cleaned up every trace of debris by 9:30 am. The workers were extremely skilled and maneuvered every limb to the ground without any damage to anything. Very pleased with the service and skill of the workers. I found STS on the BBB website where they have an A+. I requested a quote and Henry came over that same day and gave me a very fair price to remove 3 trees and he had his crew over the next morning. Unbelievable! First quote - $1,475 and I told them HELL no. Second quote five minutes later $895 - Still too high. Third quote - $695 and by this time the trust was gone as were any chances of earning my business. Almost forgot, the next company I called is doing the exact same job for $445. After the storms that hit on may 25th 2015. we had a tree break and was wanting it cleaned up and tree topped off. Received estimates from three companies. This company was so high in price. They are so taking advantage of a bad situation. They wanted 1200.00 to clean up and 2100. to top off tree.Also told us our tree was died.. It is far from it.
