CTS ground down the stump and hauled away the debris. I was lucky they came out when they did, a few days before the Derecho. I am certain that tree would have fallen on our house during that storm. Fast forward to Hurricane Beryl, Cortes Tree Services to the rescue! We had a large branch from a very large tree fall on the roof porch area. This is my second time using Cortes Tree Services. As before, getting the consult and price quote was easy. Following the initial quote, we found one of the trees on the outside of the property was leaning. Upon closer inspection, it was found that the tree had splintered near the base. Reached out to Paloma for an updated quoted, sent picture and she was able to give quote via text message. Part of the discussion included a request to cut tree in 2ft logs and leave behind for raised garden beds. Would have loved to have woodchips from the larger trunk pieces but they do not own a chipper. Fast forward to day of service. The team is beyond punctual. They arrive about 30 min early. I texted Paloma to let her I knew they were outside, but we weren't ready for them. Was still getting our toddler and myself together for the morning. They rang the doorbell anyways, so i went ahead and answered. I haven't had any issues understanding Oneisio in the past but today Walter worked as the interpreter. They needed clarification on which tree was to be removed after that they got straight to work. It was a three man crew this go round. I noticed they were loading branches so I went outside to alert them I wanted the branch and had already discussed with Paloma. We agreed on the upper canopy where there were multiple branches above the trunk but they still continued to load unto the truck. Finally I came out through the backyard and showed them the exact purpose. Walter loaded one of the container with the branches that were in the area. I explained I had a total of 5 containers to fill. He said ok. I went inside to gather a few heavy duty boxes to assist since they had already started loading on the truck. I wa told they were not needed. They would just through them over the fence. When I checked 10 min later there were only a handful of branches on the ground and they had moved the truck and were working in the front. I reminded Walter and Oneisio of what I wanted and they both agreed. When they finished the front I was told there was only a trash can full of small branches. I saw much more when they first started. But I'm pregnant and my husband wasn't home at the time. I let it go. Paid them the money but am highly disappointed as I had a the perfect tree for my needs and because they didn't do as agreed or informed on site I have to seek additional means to fill my garden area. Based on my experience last year, I didn't expect anything but the best of service an they fell short. The tree extra was removed. The canopy on the other trees were cleaned up and root ball that came back from last year was removed. They left the dead branches of the neighbor shrub in the area, which were supposed to be removed. So I don't feel like I got my money's worth or the service I requested. May be because it was a different team so not sure if I'll use them again. read more

Their first work involved pruning two tall trees that were near the house that required a lot of the lower branches removed. They did a good job and their price was fair. After that job I hired them to clip the rear bushes along the fence. These bushes are quite tall and you need a taller ladder to reach the tops which were growing out of control (an annoying job).
