Texas Tree Team was my go-to for tree service for years. I have many large trees that require periodic trimming. Glen and his team were always responsive, prompt, and did great work at a reasonable price. I asked for a quote after a few years, for the first time since merger with Save-a-tree. The quote for the same routine trimming was almost 7 times what it had been in the past. I'm somewhat flexible, I know inflation is real and forces small businesses to raise their prices. But 7x?? Oh- when I responded to the quote with a polite email, showing the invoices from the past compared to the current quote and asking why the price was so much higher, they never responded to me. read more

Do NOT use this company! We agreed to service b/c we hoped to actually save a tree. Unfortunately, no one delivered any service for 5 months and by then the tree had died and fell in a storm. Yet, the company demanded payment for spraying a chemical on 2 other trees PLUS the dead tree that no longer exists. Horrible communication and will make you pay for fiction. Do NOT let them waste your time or money. Go with someone else. read more

We would not use them again. The crew did arrive on time on the appointed date. They were cordial and did a good cleanup. They did not address one of our major concerns, which was the canopy of an older tree over a younger oak. Our understanding was they were going to thin the canopy to allow the oak to flourish. They did thin the canopy of an adjacent tree. I asked the foreman about it, and he stated the work order did not cover the second tree. The price of the job was high. They also charged a fuel surcharge of $60.62, which I thought was excessive, given that we live in the city. I believe the fuel surcharge was a way for them to pad their profits. read more

Texas Tree Team for the 3rd time in 6 years. Owner Glenn Ginzel is a pleasure to work with; he really knows his stuff and loves his craft. They're insured and bonded and have a number of different certifications. One important thing to note is that they are good NOT to OVER prune. There is an art to pruning a large tree, and they know how it should look when finished. Glen showed up with the crew at the beginning of the job to review the plan and the major cuts, and he came back again at the end to make sure everything was done right. The crew was excellent, too. They worked their asses off the whole time, and communication was good. These guys are highly skilled; what they do is very specialized and technical. The climbers' fearlessness is impressive. They were very professional and left my property clean and in great shape. It took a crew of 7 dudes a half a day to complete the job. The total bill this time was $1,600, which is middle-range (Ability Tree Experts quoted upwards of $4,000 a few years ago). I have two huge live oaks and two water oaks. These are serious trees that add a lot of beauty and value to my property. The live oak in front is a particularly rare specimen. Even though keeping these trees maintained on a regular basis is a significant cost, I feel it's definitely worth it, and I value having Glenn and his Texas Tree Team as my regular go-to. read more

Wish I could give negative stars... I put in a a request through Yelp for an assessment and quote on trimming (and possible removal of two) several trees on our property. Glen came out fairly quickly to assess our situation, and I was told that my quote would be available the following day. It has now been 1.5 months, and after repeated attempts to get in touch with this company, I have not heard a peep from anyone. For a company with decent reviews, I am appalled at the lack of professionalism with the Texas Tree Team -- to completely ignore a potential customer. Organized, detailed and did a great job! I really appreciated the detailed proposal provided by the arborist, and then when the crew showed up there was a lead who introduced himself, and we walked through the project details to ensure we were aligned. They cleaned up after themselves, picked up everything afterwards and let me know when they were done so that I do a final walkthrough before they left. This was a clearly professional outfit. Perfect - responsive, and prompt and professional service!! After getting no response from another highly rated tree removal company after online and telephone requests - I submitted online to Texas Tree Team Monday evening this week. They called me Tuesday morning and I requested that it be done by this weekend as we have an "event" at our home on Saturday - at first they couldn't guarantee but after I sent a pic and explained the event needs they got back to me with a quote - and said it would be done between 2 and 4 pm Wednesday (the very next day). Fantastic - the job was completed professionally by 2.45pm. I will certainly use the team for any future jobs. Highly recommended! read more

I used TTT for general pruning and root feeding. Most notable improvement is on my magnolia tree, which was being slowly strangled by its roots. Not anymore! I've never seen it grow so vibrant and full, and it hasn't even been a year. See photos. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Texas Tree Team! I would absolutely recommend working with them. Arborist Keeley came out and visited (twice!) to assess an old and struggling Ash tree and also helped us come up with a plan for removing some poisonous plants (Sago Palm and Oleander) from our yard. She was so patient and updated our proposal several times based on our questions and new requests. Once we were ready, Shanna got us scheduled and we felt totally prepared for the upcoming job. The day of work went very smoothly. I was told that the team's arrival window would be 1-3pm and it could take about 4 hours. They arrived early and when I got there at 1:15, they had already done most of the work! Arborist Chris checked in with me several times and they finished by 3:30. They also went WAY above and beyond, offering to grind an old stump that was not listed in the proposal and moving a heavy old concrete fountain that we've been dying to get rid of but don't have the muscle power. Thank you Red Team, that small extra action makes a *huge* difference in how we can enjoy our yard. We could not have hoped for a better experience and I am so glad we worked with Texas Tree Team. The Blue Team just left my house. I think you should know they did a great job! It appeared to me that everyone worked safely, all the equipment seemed in good repair, and my huge oak trees were trimmed in accordance with the proposal, so now appear balanced and safer. On my request they also removed the swing cable and one trunk of shrub, and were careful not to remove squirrel or bird nests. They did a great job of cleanup as well, and were informative and very polite. I noticed that they work well together and seem to enjoy their jobs. You have a very good team in these guys! I got quotes, and your price was good too! I received an accurate written proposal, an insurance certificate, and was charged sales tax, so you are a small business doing business the right way! I was really worried when I saw Centerpoint butchering trees in the neighborhood and luckily I got them to skip mine with the promise of hiring my own Arborist. I wish we could give these guys a more complete review, but unfortunately we never got the chance to give them our business due to their unresponsiveness. Someone did come out to our house and take a look at our pecan trees, and my husband felt they gave thorough and professional advice. We asked for a formal cost estimate for trimming work, but the email never came. We sent a reminder email requesting an estimate again, but still have not heard back (more than a month after the initial visit). Customers should not have to beg businesses for their services-- we will be forced to look elsewhere. read more

My son used this company for 6 trees about 5 weeks ago or so. I was babysitting at his house when Texas Tree Team was working. Very organized, professional crew, thorough pruning and cutting out old and unneeded growth. They had a lot of safety equipment and just very well planned out and efficient. The clean up was impressive. They had a big shredder unit as well for all the cuttings. They even cleaned off the roof and gutter covers of fallen leaves and debris. The foreman was very good communicator. I would definitely get a bid from them before you pull the trigger. I ended up using them at my house for one tree in my front yard about a week ago. Just as impressive in all respects as at my son's house. This company really knows what they are doing. They are confident and they back it up. read more

VERY professional, fast and great communication. Glen is awesome. He is certified arborist which is great. Called and set an appointment for him to check out the trees around my yard. He emails me with a detailed maps of our yard and trees and what exactly he would do. Competitive price as well. A week later his crew comes and does exactly as he stated in his estimate. Emailed me an invoice that I could then call the office and pay with any major credit card or with a check. I didn't have to ever meet Glen or leave work to take care of payment. This is the Second time I have used Texas Tree Team. The first was last year on my home to trim my palm trees and now for a rental property for a large live oak and other trees. I can say that both experiences were almost carbon copies, which is to say excellent. First, no matter how large or small the job is, some one comes out to look it over to make a proposal and explain in plain English what they will be doing, you then get it in writing with a drawing that is quite professional; along with the proposal you get a copy of their certificate of insurance. Oh, did I mention that the person coming out to do the proposal is usually a Certified Arborist? Their work... They do exactly what they say if not a little more, leave no mess what so ever, and I have found them to be very reasonable in pricing. All in all very happy and will use them again and would highly recommend them. read more

We just hired the Texas Tree Team to remove 3 trees (with stump grinding) and trim up the remaining and the crew did a fantastic job! We are so pleased with their work. The outcome was just what we wanted. We were also impressed with the way they cleaned up after themselves. Chris Adams came out to give us our bid and pointed out that our Red Oak had a fungus. He gave us the pros and cons on trimming or cutting it down and let us make the decision. We decided to take it down and found it was the right decision because the tree was rotted on the inside. Let me say I went through 5 different Tree companies and have to say this was my first quote and after all them, I went back to them. They did a nice job. We solicited bids from three tree services and Texas Tree Team had both the lowest bid and the most knowledgeable arborist. The other two services sent folks who were primarily salespeople. They were nice enough but did not seem to have as much training/ expertise. (For cost-conscious folks out there: one bid was nearly twice as much as this one and the other was pretty close to this one--and the second service's salesperson said that he would match/ beat another bid. But we felt good about the Texas Tree Team, appreciated their initial low bid, and decided to go forward with them.) For the project itself, Chris and the red team did a great job removing two very large pines and taking down dead limbs from several other trees. They sent a climber up into the trees when possible/ necessary and did a nice job of precisely dropping one large tree that was unsafe to climb. While they were here, Chris even spotted one problem branch we'd forgotten to point out and took it down himself. The crew did a nice job with cleanup, and even kindly removed a nearby pile of sago fronds that I'd stacked to deal with myself later. It's always a little nerve-wracking to hire people for big jobs like this, but I can say that we were very pleased with the quick, professional, and reasonably-priced work that Texas Tree Team did for us. read more

They came out today to remove a tree that was way too close to the house and pool. It was a fairly large oak and they were fast, friendly and professional. The crew leader's name was Carlos. Did a good job cleaning up - they even started to clean up the debris from my pool, but I wanted to do that myself - and it wasn't too much. I will use them again in the fall to trim back the rest of the trees on the property. read more

Called for an estimate and they came out and gave me one that was fair. I found them through Yelp and instantly gave me a discount. Service was scheduled for the following week. Everyone showed up on time, at 9 am, and quickly went to work. They answered all my questions during the service and the arborist on site, had many good recommendations for maintaining my trees and how to get the most out of our yard and flower beds. I asked them about what plants and shrubs were good for our yard, and he provided several good recommendations. My neighbor came out, noticed the work being done, and asked if they could look at his backyard, no problem. The company worked quickly and cleaned up their work. The entire experience was excellent. I couldn't have asked for a better company to hire. I will definitely use them again, and recommend them to everyone. read more

Texas Tree Team lived up to my expectations for professional arborists. After getting several bids, my husband and I chose Texas Tree Team not because it was the cheapest (it wasn't) but because we trusted they would carefully handle a live oak and post oak that had been a bit neglected by the previous owner of our home. We found Glen knowlegable and friendly, and his bid, which was professional and specific, came in very quickly. The team arrived as scheduled, did the work exactly as specified, and left the worksite clean. If I just had dead trees to remove, I might use a less expensive business, but for trees I want to keep, I would use Glen and his crew again in the future. read more

I was looking forward to using this company after reading the reviews. I recieved a 15 minute call ahead and had my children situated accordingly based on that. An hour later someone finally pulls up in my drive way and proceeds to talk on the phone for 15 minutes then comes to the door. Glen introduced himself and I told him he was over an hour late and that I had called several times but he never answered his call waiting. He told me he had been talking on the phone and had no idea he had been talking for an hour. I told him based on the lack of professionalism so far that I would not feel comfortable using his company. We worked with Texas Tree Team twice: once on an emergency basis to remove a huge, fallen branch from our house, and again to remove the remainder of the tree. Glen Ginzel and his team are top-notch. They showed up on short notice for the emergency job, and they showed up right on time for the tree removal. We obtained three bids for the tree removal, and Texas Tree Team was by far the lowest. These guys were great, specifically Chris! Normally I am skeptical about having anyone come to my house to work on things and what not but, I was really impressed with how professional and down to earth these guys were. They were so knowledgable about the trees that they even gave us some advice on why my other tree was dying. The reason why I called them out was because I had a HUGE tree hanging over my neighbors house and with hurricane season coming soon I knew I had to have it handled asap. They cut the tree down and did not cause any damage at all to anything surrounding. Their prices are reasonable and I would definatly recommend them to my friends and family. I had some pruning done on a 20 foot tall palm tree on my patio. Glen was friendly when he came out to do the estimate and answered all my questions and clearly advised me on what needed to be done. The guys came out a few days later to do the pruning job. They showed up when they said they would, did exactly what they were supposed to do, and cleaned up after themselves extremely well. The other thing I was impressed with is that I asked Glen some unrelated questions about pruning crepe myrtle trees while he was there to estimate the palm tree job. I felt that his responses were very honest, knowledgeable and centered around the health and aesthetic value of the trees with no effort to try to inflate my scope of work and the bill. 2015 Review: I wish I could give Glen and Gordon a 5 star rating like the other reviews that enticed me into contacting them. I wish I had also looked at the 2011 DATES of those 5-Star reviews. However, after spending an hour of our appointed time in 2015, walking the property, and discussing the job's scope, Glen took copious notes, gave us a verbal bid of approximately $2,000.00, and represented to us that he would follow up right away with a written contract. CONTEXT: Glen claimed TTT could complete our job the following week. ~After 30-days, Glen @ Texas Tree Team never followed through with any of their representation(s) to us to provide an actual written bid/contract, much less did they complete the job within the week. _________________________________________ We called Glen after waiting one full week for the written bid. He apologized and said he would send it that day, and we could expect it by Saturday. (four day local mail?) A second week of waiting passed and Glen at Texas Tree Team failed to follow through with any of his representations for a written document. In a third phone conversation, Glen said he would send our written contract that day. AGAIN: That request for a document was never forwarded. ~ Glen even used "the funeral" excuse after again reneging. ...He claimed he was attending a funeral and was not available. We gave Glen our fax number, per our discussion and left our fax on. TTT's fax never arrived. Glen represented to us at one juncture that if we didn't receive the contract (after five representations) - Glen "would personally deliver it to us." ~ That did not happen. The Texas tree Team made false representations to us on half dozen occasions. These were both in person and on the phone over the course of a month. If they had ethical business principles, and originally knew they did not want a $2,000 job, they should have immediately declined the job out of sound moral clarity, respect and courtesy for the customer's time. TTT lacked the candor intellectual integrity to express to their customer in a forthright manner that they didn't want the job, and that they had no intent of providing us with a written bid; and lastly, allowed the customer to re-source the job with other reliable service providers in a timely action before the high-season for pruning began and prices escalated. Instead, they misrepresented their intent to us, and strung us along for a month with false pretense. This is especially annoying because WE held the job open out of respect for them. Texas Tree NEVER showed us the respect, honesty, and fairness one expects from a service provider. Another reviewer did not receive his email bid. We were told by Glen that the problem with our bid was that we wanted it mailed or faxed, and TTT prefers to email their bid. I take great umbrage with this kind of insincerity, and disrespectful business behavior. It is of a new caliber untrustworthiness. read more
