Juan Sierra, owner was placing business cards door to door. It so happened we received the dreaded HOA Violation Letter the next day. My wife called Juan who showed up 45 minutes later to give us a bid. Juan did and threw in trimming the crepe myrtles, in addition to the 2 HUGE oaks! They did a STELLAR job with minimal personal supervision. They guys can climb and they have an eye on what will make a tree look good! Clean up was also spotless! Found this company here on Yelp and decided to try them out. Over all appointment was a bit of a challenge. However with a lil patience they showed up. Ok I can't begin to tell you how Bad Ass these guys are! They come with a team that's ready to take care of business! Katy Tree Service gave us an estimate of less than half the cost of one of the more well known local companies. They brought a crew of five hard working guys that knew exactly what they were doing and cut down our tree, hauled it away and ground the stump in less than 2 hours. Hired them to remove 3 Crepe Myrtles in our backyard and clean up the flower bed. They removed the Crepe Myrtles but ended up cutting the lighting electrical line, our irrigation line, and electrical line to our front yard sprinkler. They came back to fix one thing but when we found out there was more damage they gave us the go around and never came back to fix the rest. We had to spend hundreds of dollars to fix the issues that they caused. I regret hiring them. read more

We contracted Katy Tree Service to bring down 18 dead or dying ash trees, trim other trees needing trimming, remove several fallen trees, and grind the stumps. They worked hard for two days, but their equipment kept breaking down slowing the work. In lieu of mulching the trees, they asked permission for a large burn pile, but that volume of wood created a massive bonfire that burned so hot it scorched and killed a mature hickory tree and damaged a second. They left with the work incomplete, promising to come back and grind the stumps but they never did. Their foreman Tony said that all of their workers carry workman's comp insurance, but then later confided that some of his employees are illegals, meaning they can't be insured. I wouldn't trust them on my property again. read more

We live in Warner Robins, GA, and our neighbor used Katy Tree Service for trimming their trees in their back yard, and recommended them to us. We contacted Juan Sierra with Katy Tree Service, and spoke with him about what we needed done and our concerns. We have a backyard that is not accessible by heavy equipment, has a large swimming pool, and extensive landscaping. We could not have ANY limbs or debris just falling into our yard without causing extensive damage to our landscaping or pool. We had one tree that was actually from a neighbor's yard that bowed severely into our yard with the crown of the tree sitting directly above our swimming pool. We needed all the limbs from the four large trees in our yard pruned off the tree to a height of thirty to forty feet, the bowed tree from our neighbor's yard cut off back to the fence line (which left only about a 20 foot trunk of the tree left), and all of the branches and overhang from our neighbor's trees pruned back to the fence line away from our pool. After surveying the job and appreciating our concerns with our landscaping and our pool, we were given an excellent quote for the work, and two days later Katy Tree Service showed up to get the job done. They were astonishing skilled at the work they performed, knowing just how to tie off each branch and carefully lowering each giant branch cut off the trees to the ground without disturbing our landscape in the least. The crew they brought was extensive and highly efficient, and they had completed the job in no time at all without harming a singe plant in our yard. Their cleanup was immaculate, and they left our backyard looking better than when they arrived. I have worked with Juan Jose Sierra and his Katy Tree Service team three times over the past year on both tree trimming and tree / stump removal projects. The experience in all three cases has been exceptional. Juan and his team provide good advice on work that does, and importantly, does not need to be done, and has listened to our requests for the same. The team is professional, works extremely hard, delivers the agreed work, and leaves the yard in great shape after all tree trimming / removal work is complete. The prices for the work are fair, and payment is required only when the work is complete. This team will also plant trees. Although this is not a service that we have personally used yet, I would be comfortable contracting with this team to do so.
