This place has always been close to our hearts! Our daughter has been a volunteer on and off for years. They have always taken in and adopted out the most loving animals. We would recommend that if you want a new loving cat or dog in your life this is the place to go! We had the most awesome experience with them. They were so friendly the dogs and puppies are all healthy. They are not kept in crates and they all get along. I don't know why any one posted those negative reviews. We were asked to spray our shoes only when we went in the area with the dogs. This is not a unreasonable request in fact I applaud it. I have adopted dogs from the animal shelter which have had kennel cough and most people know that is a possibility. We got a puppy that we fell in love with. We were not asked to allow a check up at our home however I would not have an issue with that. I'm more than happy to have phone calls to check on our pup. The person who runs this cried when she walked us out to our car. This is a non profit which takes a lot of time & work she does this because of her love for animals. read more

The ladies that work here are not friendly at all!! They don't even let you look at the animals they have there. How are you supposed to adopt a pet if you can't even see them?? Don't bother coming here to look, especially if you're not picky on a breed. They won't help you at all!! read more

Went by wasted gas basically because I got there and was turned away. I simply said age breed doesn't matter if just want something good with cats and kids. she said all the animals we have haven't been around kids we don't have anything have you checked craigslist. I simply walked out i want to go through a rescue not buy something on Craigslist I couldn't believe she recommended that. As a rescue you should have animals around kids how else are you expecting to adopt them out many people have grandchildren and children makes me thik they don't want to adopt anything out. Don't waste your time going here i suggest the shelter or other rescues. Might find more enthusiasm there read more

the last two reviews were quite true...after we drove all the way there we couldn't even see the cats. the ladies wanted to know if we had been to any other shelter today as there are diseases out there and they run a very clean place...you surely could have fooled me ...it was nasty and had stuff piled everywhere. don't waste your time there. oh yes when we were leaving i turned around and caught a lady spraying the door and knob with a cleaning solution...we might have a disease. read more

We were looking for a playmate for our dog Dillinger, who we adopted a year ago from a rescue. Dillinger is deaf, but with help from a reputable trainer (Donna Sodderstrom), we have taught him hand signals and he is a very happy, balanced dog. We wanted a dog about his age, weight, and energy level. We also have several cats so we need a dog with a low prey drive. When I saw the add for Daisy, saw that she was listed as a medium energy dog, she was about Dill's weight and age, and that she was deaf, I literally got chills. I knew this was the dog for us. The only question was if she could get along with the cats, and Dill, and for that we would pay for Donna to come in and temperment test and whatever was needed to see if we were a good match. When I called I was so excited. I'm 37, my husband is 48. We have no kids. Husband has a very stable and well paying job. We own a house, have a large fenced in yard, a dog pool, and take extremely good care of our animals. I am a full time student, so I have lots of time to devote to our animals right now. When I am working, we will still make time because the animals are our children. Dill currently goes to daycare (Top Notch) while I am in school so I don't have to leave him alone for long periods of time. In other words, money is no object and we are great pet owners. Further more, my animals get the best of vet care, so the fact that Dill has cost us over $4,000 in the first year of owning because of some pervasive health issues (he's healthy now, thank god) has not detered us from wanting another because we get so much love and enjoyment from him. So what did the lady tell me on the phone? Was she excited at the prospect that Daisy might just work for us (and vice versa) and have a great forever home with us? Nope. She said that Daisy needed to go to a home with a hearing dog. Then I wrote them a letter saying I thought this was a mistake and why, and of course I never heard back. It makes me angry to know that they are denying one of the dogs in their care the chance for such an awesome home. The lady I spoke to had a very negative energy from the very beginning that I spoke to her. The only thing keeping me from giving them one star is the fact that there are innocent and helpless animals involved and the fact that they are at least seemingly trying to do something about the welfare of animals. My husband wants to go to a reputable breeder and buy a puppy, but how can I do this when there are so many good dogs out there who need a home like ours? This organization gives rescues a bad name but I will not be detered. I will still find the right dog for us, and it will be a rescue. I'm just sad for Daisy that she never even had the chance to find out if we could have been her forever family. read more
