I took my kids down to Stanislaus animal services a while after there Mom passed away and my son's…read moreand I looked around and we saw this little female partly calico cat. She was about a year old and as we were looking for a little kitten Iwas not to sure about getting a 1 year old cat but my boys just fell in love with her in the little room they have there at this place where u can hold the animals and see what kind of temperament they have but like I said my boys just fell in love with her and I pretty much did as well. So we paid the $60 and we took her home and we kept her in our house for about a month and we didn't let her out because I herd your saposed to leave the cats inside your house for at least two weeks so they don't just run away and don't come back if u don't. So we over did it but once we let her out the whole neighborhood fell in love w her man. We live just 3 houses down from a school and when the school let's ou and before school when all the kids get dropped off all the kids would pet her and just love on her. I'm not even kidding everyone fell in love with our cat Bimo. Anyways, the problem with her was she would try to sneak into my car if I had the door open before I left and she try to get into everyone's car who was outside. All the kids who were getting out of schools cars the UPS drivers trucks, I mean everyone. So I'm am so worried someone else will fall in love w her and take her. She's chipped and has all her shots and is fixed because all the cats down there are. So there's no worries there but I'm just soon scared she's going to get taken. Otherwise it's pretty hilarious but we are all verry happy w her. She's the best. No kidding. Thanks Stnislaus Animal Services. I'd leave a picture of her here for the review but I don't know exactly where she is right now. She's outside chatting around right now. She always comes home for the night at dinner time though. So I'm not too too worried that someone's taken her. NOT YET THAT IS. HA HA

Very disappointing experience. We visited to meet a kitten that we truly wanted to adopt. The staff…read moretold us that we could not reserve the kitten and that we needed to come back the next day to complete the adoption. We trusted what they told us and returned exactly as instructed, only to find out that someone else had already reserved the kitten. This situation affected me deeply. I have been feeling extremely depressed and overwhelmed by what happened, and my anxiety became so severe that I ended up going to the hospital. Losing the opportunity to adopt the kitten after following exactly what the staff told us was heartbreaking. We wasted our time because the staff did not clearly explain their adoption process or give us consistent information. If someone else was allowed to reserve the kitten, we should have been given the same opportunity. I hope management takes this seriously and improves the way the staff communicates with potential adopters. No one should be told one thing, follow those instructions, and then come back the next day to discover that the opportunity was given to someone else. I m on several depression at the hospital

They e even made post about dogs being unhealthy because they've stayed at their facility for so long. However, they make so many restrictions for even adopting from them. I tried to adopt from them and even though I had grown up with the same breed of dog in my home I was told I couldn't adopt one of their dogs because I was a teena and not my parent. I wasn't an adult and that the dog required so much knowledge that they claimed I didn't have. But how could that be when I literally explained my knowledge of the breed. I ended up purchasing my baby from a breeder, but it's unfortunate they don't want to encourage rescuing. I understand vetting people to make sure animals go to a good home. But they should be less restrictive when it comes to letting people adopt. If I'm already paying $400+ to adopt I'm not in it to be a harmful owner. People don't have money to waste. perhaps then they would have money to run their facility instead of constantly begging. I even see they have so many requirements to foster. You either need help or don't. They made a post about a dog that was severely overweight because it's locked in a cage for multiple hours a day. How could they even let that happen. Smh. They have xoloitzuintli at their place right now and I bet they have received a lot of interest In him but I bet they wont let him be adopted

My mother is 68 years old and she can no longer care for her dog who is blind and deaf.. The response was a bit harsh. They told me we need to keep our dog because he's doesn't have much longer to live , probably only a few months . and no one is adopting senior pets. - maybe not so harsh of a response, I was just looking for help from a animal rescue place.

When we first arrived there, we noticed how peaceful the place was - none of the incessant barking that you encounter at the local shelter. Their grounds were well maintained. We were told the dogs are let out to run in the yard for 3 hours a day. Their website has a bio on each pet so you can read a background info on each one. Obviously when it's an owner surrender they have more information on the pet, less so if the pet was a stray. But even then, they observe them while at the shelter to give you an idea what to expect. Their system makes it easy to adopt. I recommend sending an application in to get approved first. Once you've been approved, just call to make an appointment to see a dog or cat that you would like to meet. They will hold the dog or cat for you until your appointment. This is different from local city shelters where you might see a dog or cat listed online but it might be gone by the time you get there. Their adoption fee ($350) is fair as my dog was already microchipped and his shots were updated, except for rabies. I was a bit surprised that he was released without updating his rabies. All in all, I would recommend PetsNPals to anyone looking to adopt. They definitely care about the pets and try to make their shelter stay as pleasant as possible. Please adopt, don't shop for a pet.

The dogs had collars, but no phone numbers, we went up and down the street to see if it belonged to anybody but nobody then we let them hang out in our front yard to wait to see if anyone came looking for them, I called animal control multiple times with no answer. They started to try to chase my cats and so we thought best to drive them to the shelter, the girl working immediately, tried to shrug off all responsibility for the animals and tell us that we had to take them to county. I said no because we live in the town, then after we showed her she said " okay, I guess we can take them for now but I'll need your information" I said "no, they are not our dogs. We just didn't want them to get hit." She said "I'll take a picture of your license plate" I replied "go ahead" and I let the dogs out of the back, they were well mannered and listened. She has thee audacity to make the comment " thanks for putting them on a leash" like I was supposed to give up my dogs leashes because she was too lazy to grab some that I'm sure they have. We always try to help when we can, whether it's donating to the animal shelter or helping a lost pet find their home but it's hard when your trying help and your met with such a vile and careless attitude. If you don't like your job, go somewhere else because someone that's actually going to genuinely want to help people/animals would love to have your job. Also at no point did she ever try to tell me what the paperwork was, she just went straight into "I'll just take a picture your license plate." Update: They sent the police to my house to give me a ticket for "dumping" the dogs after she said she would take them and had my info from my license plate. I'll definitely be seeing them in court! Also apparently when you see animals loose your supposed to just leave them or shoo them on. I'm livid at the way the whole thing was handled. I was then threaten to either sign/receive ticket or go to jail, all for helping a couple of loose dogs on my street ,which I made sure to write on the ticket. I even offered to fill out the paper work, I just didn't want to be liable for dogs that weren't mine. They said "no, they couldnt do it now".
