I came here to celebrate some wonderful news with friends, and unfortunately the experience was very mixed. Great service and food, but a disappointing and frustrating interaction with management that overshadowed the night. We had a reservation made by a friend who is a regular, and although I arrived about 10 minutes late, my friends were already seated with drinks. The service from our server was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and consistent throughout the evening. Drinks looked great, and overall service at the table was excellent. For dinner, I ordered the 5 oz Prime Petite Filet Mignon with whipped potatoes cooked medium well, and my dish came out perfectly. However, one of my friends ordered her filet medium, and it came out well done. She notified a manager, and it was re-fired correctly, but unfortunately her replacement dish did not arrive until after the rest of us had already finished eating. We ordered dessert, the banana rum cake, which was very good and helped end the meal on a more positive note. Where things went wrong was with the bill and how the situation was handled by management. When the check was brought out, our server informed us that the incorrectly cooked steak had been removed. We trusted that and paid. However, when we reviewed the receipt afterward, we realized the steak had not been removed. We brought this to the attention of management, and instead of a smooth resolution, the situation became uncomfortable. One manager stepped away with the receipt and did not return. Another manager, Lola, came over and stated that because the steak had been eaten, they could offer 50 percent off, which missed the point entirely. We had not asked for the steak to be removed. We were simply addressing that we were told it had already been removed. A third manager, Justin, then joined the conversation and approached the situation in an argumentative and unprofessional manner. Despite multiple attempts to clarify that this was about miscommunication and not asking for a free meal, the conversation escalated unnecessarily. He eventually agreed to remove the item but did so while slamming his hand on the table and saying, "Well, you got a free meal, so you should be happy." That response was inappropriate and completely missed the point. This was meant to be a celebratory evening, and instead it ended on a negative note due to how the situation was handled. To be clear, the server was excellent, the food was good, and the restaurant itself has potential. However, the management team's handling of this situation, especially the lack of professionalism and accountability, left a lasting impression. Unfortunately, this experience would make me hesitant to return.

We went to Sparrow last Friday with my in-laws as they wanted to treat us for our wedding anniversary and we loved our time there! I appreciate the card and the champagne which was kind! Drinks- we all enjoyed our drinks overall! The feathered flame was amazing and the money wrench (but just enjoy with the banana rum cake lol) Apps- we got the fries which were crispy and well seasoned! Additionally we got the baked crab dip. Everyone enjoyed the warm creaminess and the season tortilla chips! Personally I am not a big seafood person but boy did I enjoy it a lot so that speaks volumes! Entrees- we all got some cut of steak to which the temperate for each was perfectly cooked! The torched butter on top was a bonus as well as the half bulb of garlic! I love garlic and do this at home so I was pleasantly surprised to see that come with. My entree did come with the whipped potatoes which were salted perfectly and the parm was a nice added touch of flavor. For the table we got roasted mushrooms, the charred Brussels, and the asparagus with béarnaise. All sides were flavorful and cooked perfectly! I also got the sauce trio which was a brandy peppercorn, béarnaise, and chimichurri. The brandy was good and the chimichurri was too olive oil forward for my pallet but my hubby loved it. The béarnaise sauce though.. holy crap was it the best I have ever had!! Dessert- we got all three to taste lol The pana cotta was good and had a nice texture (the matcha Chex on top was jus not good though lol) The brownie was really good, flavorful, and baked to be perfectly chewy with texture on the outside. Now, the banana rum cake... my god! It was heaven! Like a pillow with texture! It was a perfect balance of flavor with the cake, rum, and banana! Side note, try the brownie and banana rum cake in 1 bite together!! It was delish We truly did enjoy our time! We spent 4 hours there and loved the vibe and our server was a fun time! I also was surprised to learn it the same owner as squid ink which is cool because I love some of their food too. Major bonus is that I believe Sparrow has been moved to our new favorite when it comes to steak and a hang out vibe and it's a bonus it's closer to home!

What a tasty meal coupled with amazing service! The hostess accommodated my need for a booth because of my light sensitivity and my inability to navigate high tops. Payton was a sweet and attentive service. She made a good recommendation: crab cakes here were lighter than the crab dip. The crab cakes were made of fresh lump crab and panko bread crumbs. It was paired with a tomato and red pepper puree that added a nice tang. The mint leaves were an interesting and playable accompaniment. We had the miso black cod that was divine. It's fairly new to the menu and a must try. The crispy skin was delicious. The miso glaze brought out the sweetness of the fish and the texture was smooth and yet firm enough to remind me how fresh it is. The potato mash was delicate and paired well with the fish. I loved how al dente the roasted bok choy was. This dish was topped with sprigs of blanched chives. The banana rum cake was a fine way to end dinner. Imagine southern banana cream pie meets the delicate tiramisu. It is a must try and I was not steered wrong. The manager checked on us a couple of times and invited Chef Natalie to receive her roses from us. She told us that the inspiration for the rum cake was hers and the head chef's collaboration. She brought the soul and he elevated it.

Another amazing experience at one of our favorite westside restaurants. The Sparrow has a variety of food options with an island flare and something for everyone. We had our favorite server Addisyn who always goes above and beyond to make our experience the best it can be. Always smiling and just a delight to speak with! We took my parents for my mom's 70th birthday and they offer complimentary champagne and a free dessert! Always a great vibe and the atmosphere is so pleasant.

You want to talk about a oasis! This place is beautiful great food and drinks are on point! Staff is great, very helpful with the menu and the food was incredible! Worth the drive if you're not in the area... get in the area this is a must stop!

Sad presentation, small portions, cold plate.

We've been here twice for lunch and once for dinner. Hopefully they're just working out some kinks as a newly opened restaurant because so far I'm not really impressed. At the prices they charge, I expect more. The crab cakes were pretty good but the temperature was off and it was drowning in the sauce served with it. The Moroccan meatballs were delicious, the cocktails are very expensive but always beautiful and delicious. Recently, my husband and I came back for dinner and didn't have a great experience. We came in early at 5pm and was told by the hostess they could not seat us even though the restaurant was mostly empty at that point. When I asked why they said because they had reservations at 7pm. That's 2 hours away! I get it if we were a large party but there was only 2 of us. She ended up "Moving some things around" and sat us anyway. We ordered a cocktail and wine, both were good. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare and my husband ordered a sashimi hand roll. Apparently they don't do simple substitutions so I was stuck with buttery mashed potatoes that I couldn't eat. The expensive filet came out by itself on a cold plate and was cooked more medium well than rare but the flavor was good. My husband's dinner was a very small piece of sashimi. The presentation, portion sizes and overall experience was unimpressive especially for over $200. Also, we were out of there by 6pm so there really is no need to hold tables like that for future reservations.

A work colleague and I met here for lunch, and I wasn't sure about driving so far for it, but I'm glad I did! I walked into a beautiful restaurant and couldn't believe I was in Peoria. The decor made me want a delicious alcoholic beverage and a Vegas vacation! Ha! We were immediately greeted by the hostess, who sat us down in the lovely velvet green seating area. I ordered the French dip, which came in a pretzel roll--DELICIOUS. It's literally the best French dip I've ever had. My friend got the burger, and it looked amazing too. She really enjoyed it. I will be bringing my husband up here so I can eat that sandwich and have an adult beverage!

Finally made it to Sparrow and it did not disappoint! We arrived around 5:30 and the place was already busy. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Me and my buddy chose the fish and chips. My wife had the filet with a side of asparagus. Everything was delicious! The fish portions were impressive. Well done on everything!

Has some wrinkles to work out after only being open a couple of weeks but we will be back to see how they smooth out. This area is desirous of nicer restaurants with quality food and upscale service. My understanding is they got way too many reservations for their first days opening, that they were taken by surprise. Most importantly they seem to have some good menu choices and a good chef. The decor is gorgeous and outside patio is set up for relaxing. (At least for now since there is a lot of new construction in the center which could change that.) The prices are fair but I would add their chips or a few fries to the delicious French dip sandwich which would not add too much of a cost basis for them. R + D Kitchen from the Hillstone group has been our favorite thus far and is in Newport Beach amongst other upscale areas, and serves theirs at a lesser price. We tried their signature salad which was nicely chopped and fresh and flavorful. They offer to toss it at your table which is a nice touch. Their mac n cheese portion is enough for two and was good. I ordered their half chicken entree and the sauce took me by surprise. A little spice to it and very flavorful to the point of reminding me of a mole sauce with mushrooms. I may have that description wrong and it sounds odd, but it was a good fun flavor for the simple chicken. Brownie for dessert was ok. Felt out of balance for price paid vs size. Similar to their salad in price, the salad could have feed 2-3 as a main course whereas the brownie barely shared well for two. Nice plate presentations and staff came around several times to see if we had any needs. I'd definitely encourage others to go dine there but only if you are not in a hurry and can be understanding of new openings having various issues to overcome. Hopefully they won't last long as this could really be a great addition to the neighborhood. Staffing and training will be the key improvements to work on to make this a top five star choice.

The Sliders are amazing! Perfect amount of sauce and a party in the mouth for sure. I will return for them again

Love the Ambiance and Vibe of this establishment. CS is great, greeted at the door by a pleasant young man as we entered the Restaurant and he even held the door open for all to enter. Gianna is very good at her job, loves working at this restaurant and was very good at her references in Term of Food selections by category. She was busy covering a lot of area and customers, felt her attention to detail was lacking in a few areas but it may have been because of lack of help on this particular evening. Cocktails were very good especially the "Dirty Martini", the HH Passion Breeze was a highlight, liked the Buffalo Trace Old Fashion, we thought the Woodford Reserve Manhattan was off a little, maybe to much Sweet Vermouth??? The Shareable's: Wagyu Meatballs & Crab Dip-Excellent, We ordered the Loaded Kettle Chips (This was our second visit) same story not available??? Both visits The Main Dishes were good, Fish & Chips, Beef Stew Soup (Had a weird Spice in it but Beef was really tender) & Pan Roasted Chicken Another Server ran into our Server just as she was serving us cocktails and unfortunately She Spilled a drink on one of our guests, didn't say sorry, didn't offer anything and everyone at the Bar stood around and watched but didn't RUSH to assist or get another drink prepared, weird I thought! When we departed the young gentleman opened the door for us and Thanked Us for coming to Sparrow and hopes that we will return and we will!

Went to Sparrow for a late lunch on New Years Eve and was amazed! The inside of the restaurant is so beautiful and simply decorated. Music was on but not too loud. Love the open kitchen design and the bar and tv away from the dining room. We went as a group of 4 and started out with cocktails for 3, 2 appetizers- baked crab dip and the loaded chips. The crab dip blew my mind it was so good! I loved the spice at the end! Main dishes were also fantastic- one person got a salad and th dressing was so fresh and light. Another got the short rib Mac and cheese. I loved that it was made with orichette pasta instead of normal macaroni- elevated it a bit and made it prettier. 3rd person got the fish and chips. He remarked that the fish was a thick, flaky piece and he loved how thin and crisp the coating was. He was disappointed that the chips were actually chips and not fries, so he ordered fries. I got the lobster roll and was in heaven. The lobster was fresh and warm, not heavily mayonnaised. I wasn't a huge fan of the bread as it was pretty thick, but that's me. Overall this was a great place to go and we will be back!

It's a cool little spot for drinks and a gourmet bite. The kitchen, bar, and seating area are fairly compact. Even though the kitchen is ventilated, you can still feel a bit of the heat and smoke coming off the grill. We ordered the grilled romaine salad (they do charge a small upcharge if you split plates), along with the bao buns and the wagyu meatballs. Everything was well presented, tasty. Overall, a great option for the west side if you're looking for elevated bar bites and good drinks. My tip: grab an earlier reservation if you can, so you have a better chance at the popular dishes before they sell out.

There wasn't anything that stood out about the sides, they were just okay. Our server was very pleasant, she had a large table of 12 in addition to us and other 'regular' sized tops, so her visits back to our table were less frequent then we would have liked. One thing we base service on is whether our beverages are refilled before they are finished and we had to ask a runner to refill our beverages because we hadn't seen our server for sometime. We came to this restaurant because it was close to where we were staying and we wanted a good steak. They have an extensive wine list and of course bourbon.

Bourbon & Bones - Worth Every Penny…read more We were looking for a special place to celebrate my birthday and wanted to try something new. I've been really into bourbon the last few years, so a great steak and an excellent Old Fashioned were high on my list. I was thrilled to snag reservations at Bourbon & Bones just a few days out. I requested a booth in the special requests, and when we arrived they already had a beautiful booth set aside for us, which was a great start to the night. The atmosphere is intimate, upscale, and welcoming without feeling stuffy. Our waitress, Kailyn, was fantastic -- attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely pleasant -- and she was supported by William, who was equally great. Our friends were running late, but we never felt rushed or pressured, which really allowed us to enjoy the experience. We were greeted with crusty bread, whipped butter, and salted pretzel breadsticks -- all excellent. The bourbon and whiskey list is massive, easily the most extensive I've ever seen at a restaurant . I started with their Pre-Prohibition Old Fashioned, which normally comes with Knob Creek 12, but they happily let me swap in Michter's American US*1. It was very good. Later, my buddy and I tried the Imperial Old Fashioned, a barrel-aged cocktail that can be served smoked tableside. The presentation was impressive, and the flavor lived up to it. Easily one of the best Old Fashioneds I've ever had . For appetizers, everything was a hit. My wife loved the short rib martinis so much she ordered a second. I had the jumbo shrimp cocktail from the raw bar, and they were the best shrimp cocktail I've ever had. As expected with a high-end steakhouse, sides are served à la carte and meant for sharing. We ordered the mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole, and I also had a jumbo short rib baked potato plus a cup of French onion soup, which was outstanding. For my entrée, I ordered the 10oz filet Oscar style with crab and hollandaise . The steak was cooked perfectly -- juicy, tender, and beautifully crusted -- and the crab was a perfect addition. The baked potato was massive and had to come home with me. The sweet potato casserole reminded me of Thanksgiving with an amazing brown sugar crust on top. This was the most expensive meal I've ever had, but the food, service, atmosphere, and overall experience made it worth every penny. A perfect spot for a celebration, and I would absolutely return. Clean restaurant, great atmosphere, phenomenal staff -- five stars without hesitation.
