I am a regular here. I have tried so many different nail places, and I found this store. I really like Zina and Anka for my no chip french nails. I did have one occasion that I did no ask for the ladies I like, and ended with someone who I wasn't satisfied, and they recognized how unhappy I was and Zina fixed it all. So, I know anyone can make mistakes, and this store knows how to make sure to keep the customers happy. The shop is very clean, and I especially like their hot stone massages, which both come with manicure or pedicure. I have taken my 8 year old daughter here too - the staff was very nice with my daughter, and she had such a good time. They do take walk ins, but make sure to call to insure a good service! read more

I brought my daughter and niece to Sparkly nails for what was to be a special girls outing. we were rushed through and left with one very sloppy pedicure and a sloppy manicure on my daughter. I made the mistake of not asking for prices first. they have no menu or published pricing anywhere... because they are likely gouging people who are not clever enough to ask before receiving the service. I paid $120 for my 10 year old daughter to have a 20 minute pedicure and a gel manicure done mostly while she was sitting in the pedi chair and then sloppily hurried through. what a colossal waste of money for a really poorly executed service . never again , be careful read more

To me, this is still the best Mani pedi salon in the neighborhood. Their attention to detail is unmatched. They are often fully packed but they still take the time and never rush to get more customers. The salon is clean and cheerful and the vibe is modern and uplifting. They are professionals. read more

Staff was unfriendly upon my arrival. I had a gel manicure and a pedicure. The pedicure was fine until the nail tech cut both of my big toe nails way to short. They literally hurt while I walk. I spent$96.00 with tip. I called and told the woman on the phone that both my big toes hurt after the pedicure and she said come in I have to see if they are too short. I was like mam, I am sore I assure you they are too short. Would not even give a partial refund for the service. Lesson learned go to Allure or Botanic nails. Never again. read more

Such a great place!!! I've been trying to find a regular nail place in the area for last year and a half and have finally found it. Last time I had regular pedi and no chip manicure here and it was holding up for almost 3 weeks, but they just growing out so fast. Today I tried chrome nail manicure per recommendation of nail technician and could not be happier, my nails looking so good and got so many compliments already. Salon is very clean and even uses special disposable pedicure bag that I've never seen anywhere else. The whole staff is super friendly and attentive. I have an app that translates languages when heard aloud and the entire time they were insulting every. single. customer. Most nail salons in the North Shore seem to be closed on Sundays & my nails were in need of some love. I did a bit of research (thanks Yelp) and discovered Sparkly Nails is open til 6pm on Sundays. Hooray! I called ahead for a 4pm appointment for myself, mom, future sil & 3 year old daughter. Girls day out. We had a bit of time to kill so got there way early (3:15ish), but Sparkly Nails was busy & unable to accommodate us until our 4pm appointment. I guess that's what happens when you're the only nail salon open on Sundays. It was fine because it just gave us some time to walk over to Loves for some fro yo, which always makes my 3 year old happy. At 4pm they were ready for us. I've taken my daughter a few times in the past to get a "manicure" with me, but usually it's just a polish change. However, today for $7 she got the real deal with filing, lotions, hand massage, etc. And her hot pink sparkly nails looked fabulous when it was all over. I opted for a more subtle vinylux color, but was still impressed with my manicure. For those who haven't tried vinylux yet it's a nail polish that dries super fast (ideal when you have a 3 year old in tow) & lasts longer. Sparkly Nails charges an extra $5 for vinylux. I was impressed with my manicure, especially the hot stone hand massage. Mom & future sil seemed happy too. I'll definitely go back...even if it's not a Sunday. read more

I called today for an appointment after work (which was about an hour after I called). They were able to take me at my preferred time. I hadn't been in before and my gps insisted this spot was at the end of the block (which it's not), but I quickly found it. Inside, the salon was clean and bright and the staff was very friendly. I picked a polish and sat down for a relaxing manicure. A hand massage, neck massage and hot stones were also great. If movies are your thing, they also show those. Definitely worth a visit. I was looking forward to my appointment for a mani-pedi. I had read all the rave reviews on yelp. I usually take care of my nails at home, so to have them done professionally is an occasional treat to myself! So I opened the door to Sparkly Nails, and for at least a minute there was no recognition that I existed. It was awkward as the woman at the desk was looking down texting. Another manicurist was texting at her table. One was sweeping and never looked at me. I thought perhaps no one heard me come in, but then the woman texting at the desk said to pick out a color, without ever lifting her head. The manicurist came over to start my pedicure, without even a smile. I purposefully watched as other women entered Sparkly Nails. One after another got the same COLD response as I did. I had a "no chip" gel manicure done on Thursday. This morning two of my nails had chipped so badly that I had to peel the remaining off of the two nails and try to fix them myself until I can have them fixed on Monday. Me and my friend went at 5:45, apparently they close at 7pm which is Important because at 6:50 we were told to wrap up and leave. When we said we had 10 more minutes they said, "well can you move to the drying station" after 10 minutes of being made to feel completely uncomfortable we asked if they could wrap our feet Since 1) the dryer wasn't working 2) they made us feel unwelcome. I got home and My big toes have NO polish on them. I have NEVER had such horrible service. After 20y of being a stay-at-home mum, Sar Sar decided to venture back into the workforce - which was weird, b/c clearly a triple boarded physician ONLY belongs in the kitchen - and, as a result, this has left me to carry the burden of holding down the "house wife" fort when I'm rolling around the North Shore. Thus, today I've hit up an exercise class, done a ladies brunch, and....gotten a mani-pedi. Strugs. Usually I go to Metamorphosis (request Renata, fantastic massages and a lovely woman), but as Sparkly Nails is open on Sundays, I decided to venture to downtown Winnetka. The space is open, well lit, and clean - the color selection (O.P.I, Essie, and w/e that gel shizz stuff is) is fairly strong - it's weighted towards more traditional reds, pinks, and neutrals, with minimal neon selection (which confused me as there are hella tween girls in the area/one 27y who refuses to make adult selections abt polish colors) - but, they had at least 4 varieties of sparkles, so my desire to look like I was going to an 8th grade dance was fulfilled. Service was perfunctorily friendly - my technician clearly didn't want to be besties, which is perfect as I have stranger danger - but she listened to what I wanted and gave a great massage - they do this magic w hot stones that literally made me melt - and had there not been a 8y/o next to me getting a pedicure, I probably would have let out a groan that would have made all of us uncomfortable - so, overall, while the actual calf/hand massage isn't long as at Metamorphosis, what they do at SN is wonderfully relaxing. Oh, and as another bonus, the spa chairs actually give a solid massage - not to mention the lil shoulder rub down they give you as your nails dry that is a treat. In terms of logistics, they are open 7d a week and although they take walk ins, I recommend making an appt - while I was there, at least 4 women got shut out - so apparently word is spreading that Sparkly Nails is a player in the Winnetka nail game, which already includes 4ish other places...b/c, you know, a village of 12,000 needs that. Definitely. In sum, definitely worth a visit - my mani-pedi was $40+ tip. read more

I think I've found my new go-to nail place. Sparkly Nails is sparkly new, modern and very clean. I walked in for a manicure was accommodated immediately. Large selection of polish and no-chip polish. I had a standard manicure ($15) and the nail tech was thorough but not rushed. She used a hot stone to massage my arms and hands (heavenly) and then gave a fabulous neck & should rub. Manicure ended with careful application of polish and then I sat under the dryers and was good to go. My nails look great. Will definitely go back for a mani/pedi combo. read more

I have been coming to Sparkly Nails for years. Enough times to get a couple free pedicures through the punch card system. The salon has gone downhill quickly. Every time I go in, there is a new price for what I get. I have been charged 30, 35, and 40 dollars for a no-chip manicure in the last two months. No difference in what I received other than the quality going down. My last no-chip lasted 5 days before peeling off. It was Christmas so I just decided to go get a new no-chip yesterday and was overcharged and got to watch my manicurist take breaks to go eat food within eyesight. Disgusting. I'm done. read more

Just got my nails done today and they were fantastic! I was a walk in and there were only three women working, a big group of girls was finishing up, they were great about telling me it would be about ten minutes and then working me into their schedule. The girl that did my nails listened to what I wanted rather than what she wanted to do, I can grow long nails naturally and generally when I want them cut down they keep them as long as possible and make them square(gross). The shoulder and neck massage was fantastic and my nails look amazing!!! I can't wait to go back for their namesake: sparkly nails. read more

This is the worst salon!! Not only were they rude but after I picked the polish they told me it was 10 dollars more for this special polish. I really did not know why. It's hard for me to even give this place one star. I came here recently for a pedicure and it was honestly the worst experience ever. Let's talk ambiance, or lack thereof. The decor is cheap and dirty looking, missing any characteristics of a what a spa or nail salon should embody. There's an area in the corner that is poorly disclosed where the employees often gather and eat. I'm sorry, but I don't want the smell of microwaved leftovers wafting through the air when I'm trying to relax. But that's the thing, the entire experience is the least bit relaxing. The pedicure, which cost an outrageous $30, took all of 15 minutes. It was so rushed that I even had to ask the manicurist to slow down, to which she rolled her eyes and continued to slap my legs and feet and loudly chat to the adjacent manicurist. There's zero regard for customer service and for that reason I will not be returning. I advise you do the same. read more

My mom and I spotted this place when we were at Starbucks and called in for appointments that same day. They were able to fit no chip-manis and pedis in that afternoon for us along with my sister. The space itself is very bright, clean and well laid-out. They have a good selection of regular OPI/Essie along with Shellac colors for the no-chips. The prices were reasonable and they also have a good mani-pedi special every day. This was seriously one of the best no-chips I've ever gotten, and I've tried out a lot of places! My girl (wish I noted her name) spent a good 45 minutes paying attention to every nail and finished it with an arm/neck massage with a hot stone at the end. I opted out of the pedicure because I had somewhere to be but my mom and sister both said theirs were great (and they looked fantastic in my opinion...I was pretty jealous). I will definitely be back in a couple weeks to get another manicure (even though mine's still flawless two weeks later!). It's also BYOB so that alone should be reason enough to convince friends to join me :). If I had to find one thing wrong, it would be that I wish they had some sort of deal on their Facebook (sign in the window advertises Facebook specials). But overall, I can't recommend this place enough! It's relatively new (opened early April) but I hope they keep up the great work because I can see myself frequenting it whenever I'm home from school. read more

Very disappointed. I have been a customer here for awhile. Tonight at 6:25pm I walk in asking for a quick manicure. Unfortunately I was not able to make an appointment but this has never been a problem before. The woman at the desk said they closed at 7:00 so they couldn't accommodate me. There were a few other customers in the process of their mani and pedis. So I ask the woman who was not working with a client if she could do my mani she said no they close at 7pm. I feel that if you walk into a place more then a half hour before the stated closing time they should be able to accommodate you. read more

No one greeted me when i came in and during both services the techs barely looked at me (zero smiles in that place lol) and just generally seemed like they would rather be anywhere else. Average to above average manicures, can vary greatly depending on who you get. Polish lasts a long time though and the hot stones are a nice touch! The reason for 3 stars is that it often seems like they are annoyed when you walk in and ask for a service, even though they are available.
