Every single one of my nails is chunky and bumpy and when I confronted her about it she said that's just my nail, and I said it's never bumpy when i get them done anywhere else so I know it's not my nail. Also, one of my nails was broken and noticeably shorter than the rest and when i asked her to fix it, she said "no Ill just file, it's not that much shorter than the rest". As i was paying, the other lady asked me if i wanted to add a tip i said no and she said "oh okay, you wanna add $10" and i said no, but caved and gave $5 just out of courtesy and then she mumbled something under her voice angrily. I think the only 5 star reviews for this place must be regulars. I was able to get in for a last minute mani-pedi (mind you, it was a Tuesday afternoon around 1pm) and there were only 2 other customers in the salon. The pedicure started first with the technician soaking my feet, then buffing my heels, then a scrub on my legs. She never soaked off the old polish. Ok I thought, maybe this is how the do their services here. She then drained the tub, and walked away. Then a man came over to perform the leg massage. Ok, so this is the second person. He finished, and I waited. It was about 15 minutes before a nail technician (3rd person!) came over (who was obviously rushed) and took off the polish, cut the nails, but never filed or buffed the actual nail. She put cuticle remover on nail and let it drip all over my feet. Normally they would have you put them back in the water, but that had been drained 20 minutes prior. So she slapped on polish before I could even say anything. Manicure was after, and nothing to write home about. It was super basic and besides being sloppy and the polish being all over my skin, it chipped and peeled the next day. The pedicure which normally lasts me 2 weeks is already chipped on 3 nails after a week. The icing on the cake was at least I thought I was receiving their advertised special of mani-pedi $35 that they have posted on their window. That special doesn't include cuticles or massage (again, wasn't even asked when I got there which one I wanted), so I was charged $45 for a sloppy sad excuse for a nail job. Maybe they treat regulars better, but for the price there are much nicer salons in the area. 2 stars because the place seemed clean (although the buffing block and file had definitely been used prior). read more

I have weak nails and I have found if I switch technicians or salons they tend to file off or scrape too much off off my nail and my nails become become brittle. Really disappointed in my manicure from here. Inside does look nice with the exception of the nail polish area. Most of the polishes looked so old/dirty with paint dripped all over the outsides and the polishes themselves looked dried/cakey. Not a good first impression. The actual service: The technician was not very friendly and literally ripped the skin from my cuticles. I'm currently sporting band-aids on several fingers because of the cuts. After cutting me and seeing that i was bleeding, the tech didn't even apologize but instead made this annoyed face and just kept tearing up my hands. To top it all off, she got nail polish on the sides on my finger and missed spots on my nails (not even sure how that was possible). She was clearly trying to hurry. I'm not even sure if she used top coat. What is funny is this place was busy with what seemed like "regulars" so clearly there are people who like this place. I dont know if i just got a bad tech or what but i will definitely not be back. **there was also no free massage as the have posted on here as part of the mani service (or at least my tech did not do one).** read more

Love them! Rebecca is the new owner, who volunteered her time (on her day off) at the Hubbard Woods School PTO Teacher Appreciation Week to give the teachers FREE manicures! Their service...wonderful. They're the only ones I know of that give you - a movie, a coffee or tea, a hot neck roll, herb-infused waters for your pedi (you pick the scent), a hand massage, and neck massage - all included in the price. There are several points I would like to touch on that make this nail salon wonderful. I was looking for salons on my way home from work that were still open, and stumbled upon this one. I called to ask if they could squeeze in one more manicure 30 minutes before closing, and the owner (Becky) got me in no problem. I arrived expecting to feel hassled since I was so last minute, but Becky and her staff gave me as much time as I needed to pick a color, use the bathroom, etc. The color selection is pretty good. The price for a regular manicure was $15-something I could live with as a college student. There is a lot of competition in this area, so I was surprised that the prices were so reasonable. The salon was very clean, the staff was professional, and because the service was warm and friendly; I can now understand why they have so many regular clients. Becky did my nails, she cleaned them up very nicely and now they look great. I will definitely be coming back here in the future. Short summary: I absolutely love going to Grace Nails, this is THE place to go if you have an ingrown toenail, ask for Becky as she in fact specializes in helping get rid of in-growth so you can hopefully avoid surgery. Even if you don't have this issue, their service is great for an unbeatable price: for $35 you get a mani/pedi with very high quality products and polishes to choose from and a service that leaves your skin feeling exfoliated and smooth. I truly don't understand some of the negative reviews, especially given how friendly and accommodating the staff is! Details for in-grown nail treatment: The big toe on my right foot became ingrown a few years ago after it was damaged from being stepped on during a music festival, and it just became worse as time went on. I went to Grace Nails about a month ago for their mani/pedi special and Becky noticed the issue with the toenail and told me that she could help me. Naturally I was skeptical because any time I would try to cut it down it was horrible because the nail became thick and would bleed. I was at the point of seriously debating surgery for it because my mom just had hers fixed with surgery shortly before we went to Grace Nails; however, she warned me against the surgery route. Becky somehow managed to remove the excess that keeps the toenail raised and to cut it down so that it looks uniform with my other nails (which I couldn't ever do myself). After the pedi was over, I noticed that I had immediate relief from the pressure the nail was feeling from the problem. It has been just over a month since I went to Grace Nails for this issue and I have already noticed changes to my toenail after Becky did her magic. For one thing, the nail has flattened out noticeably where it is looking much more like a normal toenail. I also noticed that the nail itself has become thinner, just as a nail should be rather than the thick uncuttable mess I was dealing with. I was so pleased with the results that I went back today specifically looking for Becky and yet again she took care of my problem. I found out that many local ladies have found out about Becky's fantastic work with ingrown toenails and come back to her often and I am now one of those people. I have been so pleased with how things have been going that I hope other people with the same issue hoping to avoid surgery, or at least try something before resorting to it will try out coming here! read more

Took my daughter for a birthday mani pedi and can definitely say we will not be going back to this place. No one so much as greeted or acknowledged us when we came in. The place had a strong, unpleasant chemical odor, even with the door wide open (which by the way made it cold inside because it was not warm out). My daughter selected a design from a basket up front by the nail polishes. There was no pricing posted as to what polishes or designs entailed an up charge, however, they said there would be an up charge for the polish she chose and for the design. We said fine but then they did a rush job on her nails. They might call it a mani pedi but it was effectively a polish change because all they did was file and polish her nails. The design looks nothing like the sample, despite the extra charge, and they didn't even manage to keep the polish off the surrounding skin. They did a bad job and overcharged us. The couple that owns the place was unfriendly, not so much as a hello or please or thank you, and they and the employees continually yelled to each other in another language. As I said, we will not be back. There are tons of better places to go in the area. read more
