I no longer use Sparkling Homes because I am no longer working outside of the home, but when I read some of these negative reviews, I wanted to share my experience. I was very impressed by the service I received. My cleaner was Anna and she did a top-notch job. In two years, she never missed a day, except for once when she had a doctor's appointment but let me know well ahead of time so we rescheduled. The company worked was pleasant and easy to work with. to work with. My home took 2 1/2 hours to clean and they only charged me for that time and not for three hours. I'm the office manager here, and so, yes, you did in fact work for me. My boss spoke to me of your phone call, which came TWO MONTHS (10/18/2016) after my review and our email exchange, there was no apology - additionally, he told you that it was my call and to speak to me personally, which you did not do after that call. I opted not to take this post down and let him know that as well; people should be aware of any companies practices and how others personal experiences with them were. Know better, do better. I also find it unfortunate that you chose to finally reach out to me by responding to my review over a year later. Update: 10/10/2017: I refuse to go back and forth with you - again, as we did via email when this first occured. My initial email to you was on July 29th, 2016 and included my original Yelp review in it's body. You responded to me via email on August 3rd, 2016 rebutting and excusing everything I had concerns about. You ended that email with: "We are sorry to loose you as a client. We feel we did our best to keep you happy and really had no idea or feedback as we went that we needed to do anything differently. It sounds from this email there is much past feelings, so I am not expecting there is anything to work out. So I will just say, again, thank you for your feedback." No where did you offer anything in your 'right away' response. I was then emailed by Shauna from your company on August 8th, 2016 stating she'd spoken to you and you would refund our overcharge and personally pay for a clean to make up for our experience/lack of cleaning. As we were not happy with this service, so we opted not to take Shauna (not you) up on the offer to send out another cleaner to actually perform the job requested. This will be my last update, and if you feel like Yelp is a place for complainers, at least they'll be able to see the reviews here (many of which have the same issues I did) and take their 'complaining' to another cleaning company. Vanessa came to do a deep cleaning. Normally when I have that done it takes 4 hours. After 4 hours she still wasn't finished. We agreed she would come next week. We talked about Monday at 2pm. I had to contact after 20 minutes in order to find out where she was. She said she hadn't agreed on that. So we made it later in the week and once again after 30 minutes. she never showed nor bothered to let me know she had a car problem and it messed up her schedule. just wanted to have her finish the job and not have to pay someone else to finish it for her. So we scheduled one last for 4pm and again i had to be the one call her after 30 minutes only to find out she hadn't finished her previous job and she will call me when was leaving and to expect her at 5:30. I contacted her again and she said 6:30. I told not to come at all. As a result the job was never fully finished So now I have to have pay someone else to do the side porch, front porch, blinds and windows. I always try to be flexible but did let it go on this long. read more

I can't say enough about what a terrific job they did on my move out cleaning! Orlando really went above and beyond what I was expecting. They did an amazing job on carpet shaming too. Carpet had pet stains which I didn't think would come out with basic shampooing, but they got them out! Communication with Shauna was great too-she informed me right away when it looked like it would take a little longer than expected (which I'd anticipated) and I was charged exactly what I was quoted. I had Sparkling Homes out last week to start monthly cleaning. I was really impressed with both the scheduling of my clean as well as the actual cleaning from Alma. I asked her to start with my kitchen, which was in dire need of a deep clean. She cleaned off years of grime from my cabinets and they look as good as the day I moved in!!! She did a really thorough job! I appreciated that she didn't chat - she just really got down to business and was conscious of her time. I have made several attempts to contact Sparking Homes for an itemized invoice on work completed. They will not send me an invoice. Inititally, they sent me a quote for $45/hour. The contract sent to me was $50/hour. I addressed that this was not the amount quoted to me and they fixed the contract and I signed at $45/hour for a minimum of 4 hours (that is their requirement). I checked my bank statement and found they had charged me the $50/hour rate anyway and will not refund my account the money they overcharged me. It took 2 hours to complete the job. The condo was already clean prior to them arriving. I had hired them to insure the house would be "sparkling" clean for my client upon move-in. The fridge was still dirty, the oven was still not clean, streaks all over the glass cabinets and dust on the built ins. I could have done a better job then they did in 2 hours. read more

I own a rental and normally clean it myself but ran into a bind. I paid for 4 hours to clean 3 small rooms: a small kitchen & 1.75 small bathrooms @ my 1340 sq ft home (takes me ~6 hrs to clean the entire 4 BR home by myself). The previous tenant had already completely cleaned all appliances so all they had to focus on were the floors, wiping out cupboards, under appliances, clean/bleach bathroom tile, normal move out. I even left a list in an email. Upon walking through with my new tenant, I was embarrassed to discover that things were not thoroughly cleaned, ALL cupboards not cleaned/wiped out, floor was not cleaned to the trim, tile in the bathroom not cleaned/bleached, fixtures & light switches not dusted, nothing touched under/behind appliances, the list goes on. If you're a landlord and you need to trust a company from a distance & cannot follow with an immediate inspection before payment, beware! I feel completely taken advantage of. Victoria, the owner, did not apologize or offer any bit of reconciliation when I shared my dissatisfaction. When I requested a full refund all I received was half. VERY disappointed. read more

I have gone through a couple of cleaners in the area that started out amazing, then started lagging the more I use them. I am truly excited and pleased with Allie and the cleaning she did today. So much so I am already getting a review up! I spent 6 weeks trying to locate a good company and after 2 no shows, I was pretty frustrated. Well, I can say it was worth the wait. Allie is very personable in addition to her attention to detail. She did more than what was originally discussed when I set up the cleaning and was happy to to so (she even tackled my dishes). Each room is spotless and dirt/dust free. and I've already requested to have her as my bi-weekly cleaner! I found the company easier to communication with and find their payment terms of getting to use your cc once the cleaning is complete very convenient. Prices are extremely reasonable, my only problem may be the 3 hour minimum as its a small place with no pets, however, for now, I'm moving forward with Sparking Homes as my cleaning service. I am writing this review only after several attempts to contact Sparkling Homes for a service breakdown of charges, with no avail. I was completely unimpressed with their cleaning services and, even more so, their lack of professionalism when it comes to addressing issues. My husband and I recently purchased a home in the Auburn/Kent area. Before moving all of our things in, we wanted to have the place scrubbed really well just for our own peace of mind. We called Sparkling Homes and were happy that they were able to fit us in the day after our closing date. Their original quote for a 1500 sq ft home was $180-$270 and it would take 1 person 6 to 8 hours or 2 people 2 to 3 hours. Shauna (the manager) was able to get two cleaners out to cut down on time. When the cleaners showed up, I gave them a quick idea of the important areas that I'd like focused on. Having just moved in, we didn't have any furniture in place or a ton of items to dusk/clean around. It was fairly straightforward - wash/dust all the surfaces (including windowsills, counters, handrails, kitchen appliances) and vacuum the floors. Besides vacuuming, mopping the floor and wiping down the bathroom sinks, I honestly don't think they did anything else. There is dirt/dust in all of the window tracks, there is dust on the fireplace mantle, the kitchen counters were very clearly only quickly sprayed with 409 and wiped off because the corners still had dust and crumbs. Also, the bathrooms were barely touched -- there was a water ring still in the toilets and the shower walls/drain was definitely not scrubbed with any sort of elbow grease. To be clear, the place had already been cleaned by the previous owners before we moved in, but it had been several weeks prior and we just wanted things "sparkling" before putting furniture in place. This should have been one of the easier jobs for the cleaners, as there wasn't that much but basic cleaning/scrubbing to do. That did not happen. After the cleaning, I sent a quick email to Shauna asking for a breakdown of services and what the final cost would be. I also told her that we were a little dissatisfied with the job done and she came back to me saying she could have them come back out and would only charge us half the cost for any extra time. She also said that the price to "clean" would be $270 for the original job. She actually thought I would pay them MORE money to have them come out and do a job they should have been able to complete the first time they were there?! Absolutely not. When I replied asking her the reason for charging us the higher end of the quoted amount when we were clearly dissatisfied, she did not respond. I now see she has process our credit card for the full $270 without any explanation of benefits. Keep in mind, I also gave the cleaners a $60 tip before the service was finished because my husband and I had to run some errands. All this being said, I would never use Sparkling Homes again. I will now be spending this weekend doing all of the cleaning that I had originally paid them to do, which is the most frustrating part of it all. My Mother in Des Moines has had a very bad knee injury for a couple of months and since I currently live in California, I obviously can not be there to help her out. I called Sparkling Homes on a Sunday and was so pleased that I got through. Victoria's husband Abdual answered my call even though they usually don't on Sunday's and I am so very grateful. He was so nice and very understanding of my situation. He gave me quick info about pricing, got her on the schedule for my specific day and was very personable. I have every confidence that this will be a wonderful surprise gift for my mother with the help of Sparkling Homes. Well she showed up 25 mins late. I walked her around pointing out specific areas I wanted cleaned, and she did none of them. May have been a language barrier, but I literally pointed to the spots so I hoped that was sufficient. To name a few..I asked her to clean shower door, she didn't. I asked she cleaned out kitchen cabinets which were empty because we are moving in, she didn't. Asked her to dust fireplace grates, she didn't. This is a few months overdue. Based on the great reviews, we booked our new home to be deep cleaned before moving in. We've never hired a service before, so we were pretty excited to not have to think about this aspect of moving too much. Most of the communication was via text, which I thought was convenient at first. I asked if we needed to meet prior for a walk through, but the gal just asked some questions, one of which was to text her a list of what we wanted done. Ok, that works. When we arrived at the house the day after the cleaning, on the surface everything looked good. However, upon closer inspection, they didn't do any of the deep cleaning we had asked (and payed for). They also never followed up, even after I told them that if all went well, we'd like to book them for regular cleanings. Looking back, the service from start to finish now just seems so halfhearted. Almost zero phone conversation (except the initial call and to take payment), no in person meet/greet/walk through, no post-service communication. I don't doubt the other 5 star reviewers had great experiences, but ours was straight up disappointing. read more

I just had surgery, my husband was out of town, and I needed help! After reading all the reviews I was excited to try Sparkling Homes and I was really really hoping to come home to a "sparkling clean" home. Was it clean? To the naked eye, yes. However the kitchen counters needed another wipe down, there is still gunk in the kitchen sink, the floors looked somewhat mopped, shower was still dirty, & lastly they forgot to clean an ENTIRE bathroom - even though I left a note explaining where they all were. I'm soooo bummed. The gal on the phone however was very nice and their pricing is aggressive. Just not worth the money I paid in my opinion..I think I will shop around. read more

Used Sparkling a few months ago. Have had other services in the past. I was surprised that only one worker was scheduled as previous services have used 2-4. The day of cleaning, no one showed at the time given - after a call - was informed they would be late. Arrived about an hour after estimate. One quite young women (high school - early college). She worked about 3 hours did what I would call very light cleaning. Not sure her experience was enough to know what a thorough cleaning would entail. Have since started with a new cleaning service -- 3 women work and takes about 2.5 hours to complete thorough cleaning as I expected. Wish I stopped here to see the poor reviews before scheduling a 4 hour cleaning. The top of my list was to sweep and mop my floors. There were lower priority items on my list. I chose the four hour clean so they would have a chance to accomplish my number one priority and show me what they can do with lesser priority tasks. Smh, they damp mopped some areas of my floor using a spray bottle and a dirty mop head that was never rinsed clean during use. After half*ss tackling my top priority, the cleaner proceeded to half*ss accomplish the lesser priority tasks on my list and when I say half*ss I mean the cleaner must have done what she felt like then skipped the rest, in other words not one room was cleaned. Not one item was knocked off the list in full detail. I have time to surface clean, but at $40 an hour I thought the cleaner would have completed at least one task - especially the top priority on my list. This place is a huge waste of money, anyone who would like a hand around the house do not call this business. They will spend your money how they want and it will not reflect ONE ITEM on your priority list. I recently started services again after moving to a new location and the quality I've come to really appreciate is still just as high! First of all the majority of your statements are completely FALSE! I feel the need set the record straight. As you can see there are many many negative posts about your company that were far worse than mine and I should have looked you up on Yelp prior to calling that would have solved this problem all together! So I'm not alone here as a first time customer being disappointed. I NEVER requested my oven to be cleaned nor was it cleaned as you stated in your response. The oven wasn't touched! you stated that took up 2hrs of the cleaners time!!! In fact your cleaner stated that she requests the ovens clean cyle be done the day before prior to the oven being cleaned for future reference! So how is it possible that you cleaned my oven...hmmmmm! And, yes I did say that you did not need to clean the bedrooms that is correct, but the room that had the second bathroom in it wasn't even touched and that was one thing I requested to for sure be cleaned were the two bathrooms. And for you to make a comment about my husband and my business is absolutely out of line. I'm commenting on my experience with your business and until you have requested my services and worked with me you don't reserve the right in my opinion to speak of my business. My husband never said he had the day off and for the record I did miss out on a potential commission by rescheduling my appointment and every appointment that followed my first appointment in the am, when your cleaner showed up LATE! but my daughter's fifth birthday party was more important to me at the time and that's my judgment call to make not yours. As for the comments about my house being in much worse condition than I had stated! WRONG! I have had other cleaners easily clean my house in 3hrs and comment on how easy it was to clean because it was already clean to begin with ! Especially the fact that I narrowed down the amount of square footage of total cleaning to less than 800 square ft. You're misinterpreting the fact that if you cleaned for five to six hours would've been necessary if I'd had her clean the entire house!! but leaving out 3/4 of the house makes it pretty easy to clean in three hours. You do the math 1200 square-foot house deduct three of the bedrooms which accounts for about about 600 sqft. And with regards to "Finding your Cleaners number" wow..do you really think I have that much time on my hands! She CALLED ME! in the morning 30 minutes late for her appointment telling me she was sorry and on her way! I didn't FIND her number and that is a complete lie! And NO I DID NOT have adequate time to reschedule my appointments for the day! I arranged to have the cleaner there at 8am so that I could spend 15minutes with her to go over the house and what I wanted her to focus on and then leave to take my children to school that started at 9am! She didn't call me until she was 30 minutes late and then showed up at 9am. I had to have my husband take the kids to preschool which affected his work day and my ability to get to my first appointment in Seattle at 10am was not possible at this point! So, yes, her showing up late absolutely had a domino affect on the rest of our day! When I reached out to her it wasn't multiple attempts past 11pm as you stated...accusing me of HARASSMENT it was one text at exactly 7:47pm I have text record of this! My day was completely out of whack so forgive me that I didn't go a thorough walk through when she was finished. I was juggling two toddlers, my work day that was ruined, preparing for a huge party and the normal day to day stuff. I didn't notice all of this until the evening as I mentioned when I was winding down for bed. Bottom line is I was not happy with your services even after the discount because I had to finish the job that I requested be cleaned. We all work hard for our money and when you hire and PAY a company to clean you expect the job to get done and for them to show up on time! When I have an unhappy customer I never point the finger back at them, instead, I ask them how I can do a better job in earning their business! That is the correct response! I scheduled a move-out cleaning for only 3 small rooms of my 1300 sq ft rental (12x14 kitchen, small full bath and 1.75 bath, all of which the appliances/tub/sinks were already cleaned: no scrubbing needed). The entire rest of the home was completely taken care of, cleaned, painted, etc. I specifically requested they concentrate on deep cleaning of the kitchen & even unnecessarily (though I thought) spelled out what tasks I wanted focused on in an email: fixtures, under the appliances, the downstairs bathroom walls & ceiling (all other walls were cleaned), floors, cupboards, bleach/clean grout in downstairs tub. I requested a 4 hr limit as I myself clean this entire home in 6 hrs or less. Plus we just moved out ourselves out of our 2400 sq ft home & had the entire house cleaned in less than 4 hrs by 2 people. Hence I knew (& assumed) this was possible. As it should be. While I have no complaints about the scheduling or booking of the appt, I seriously doubt my email listing specific requests was passed along, or that this specific cleaner knows OR was trained in what move-out cleaning entails. Upon arriving, a younger, soft spoken girl (same one who seems to have been complained about in prior reviews) called me to ask how to enter and I reiterated to her at that time the things I wanted her to concentrate on. It fell on deaf ears. I sought this company out because they are small, local and had mostly good reviews (though less favorable in this past year. Wish I would have paid attention). I operate a business myself so am unable to supervise or check that the job was done correctly immediately following and entrusted them with the work requested and agreed upon. I even paid for it unseen the day after it was completed, even though I requested to wait to pay until I checked the work. They could not wait one more day, so once again, I trusted them. When I arrived 2 days later to do a move-in walk-through with my new tenant, I was embarrassed. As I was walking through the house, the untouched & uncleaned areas became more and more apparent. Thank GOD my new tenant had to run and I remained to complete the move-in checklist on my own...to only be stopped every 5" to GO OVER and RE-DO what the cleaner had NOT. Here's what was NOT done: 1) NONE of the cupboards were cleaned out or wiped down, 2) NONE of the appliances were taken care of under them (refrig, stove, washer, dryer) with obvious large dust bunnies and garbage that could have easily been reached/taken care of with the proper moving and vacuuming, as with 'normal' move-out cleaning, 3) NONE of the light fixtures, fans, top of the refrigerator or shelves in the kitchen or bathroom were cleaned AT ALL, 4) the walls or light switches/plugs in the bathroom were NOT touched, and there was still body hair on the wall and cupboard around the toilet (gross), 5) the grout in the tub was NOT clean and still black (isn't bleaching/cleaning of this standard?), The vinyl floors, though mopped, were done half-hardheartedly, not reaching behind/under moveable/small shelving units/islands or even reaching to the trim. Needless to say I spent an additional 3 hrs chasing, cleaning (with the limited supplies I had as I was NOT planning on this) and making this presentable to my tenant. I was NOT able to remove the dirt from under/behind the appliances or bleach the grout, as I did not have the vacuum or bleach with me. Once my tenant went through her own checklist, she agreed that I should not have paid for it. NOT EVEN ONE of the tasks I requested was done properly OR completely! To top it off, when I called the owner (Victoria), I started off by objectively telling her my disappointment but it quickly escalated after her repeated attempts to NOT apologize, NOT offer any solutions (i.e. partial/full refund), but kept trying to explain that my house was in bad shape (it honestly was not) and that with the 4 hr limit this is all the cleaner can provide. REALLY? So after all of this and requesting a FULL refund for a job TERRIBLY done, only a partial refund was awarded, along with some texts from the owner the following day once again trying to explain why the job could not be completed and their policies. This after I had already clearly stated I did not want to hear anymore and just wished for a full refund. I'm not sure she has taken any classes in customer services and know she's run her business for 10 yrs...but when a customer like me who is normally super trustworthy & easy going (I would have NOT ever approved payment without inspection) is this upset, I would have expected that a FULL refund would have been in order. And at the VERY minimum a sincere apology the day of the call. If you need move-out cleaning and you are a landlord and cannot verify/check the job done immediately following, WATCH OUT. I am the owner of 4 residential rental properties located in south king count. I have had several move out spanning many years. I in most cases do the cleaning myself. I found myself in a bind for time on this particular one. I wanted to get started with the cleaning and then finish what was not completed. Two cleaners showed up for 3 hours of work. I spoke to them and left them a list of what to work on. After inspection of there work I was in shock and completely unsatisfied. There was no visible difference from before they arrived. The owner followed up a week and a half later, asking where to send the bill. I stated that I was not satisfied. Basically, she said she didn't care and was going to send me to collections if I did not pay her. Poor customer service I would not use again nor recommend to anyone. read more

Not happy with this company at all. I spoke with Lori on the phone and she is very nice and professional. Set up a time before my scheduled cleaning for Charlotte to come by and walk through my house with me, meet my dog, etc... I thought it was odd that I had to contact her directly through text in order to set up the meeting, it should be scheduled through the company in my opinion. There was no contract, no forms filled out, no checklist, nothing. After the first cleaning I was satisfied with the job Charlotte did. She cleaned my home three times and I wasn't home when she arrived any of those days. It was a little unclear how the billing would be done, I waited for them to call and ask for my card which they never did. I finally called and they were a little unorganized and sounded surprised. The fourth cleaning I was home and some girl shows up on my front porch and knocks on the door. I had made arrangements with Charlotte to come through my garage so it caught me off guard. She was new, had no idea where Charlotte was, had never seen my home or been briefed on how I liked things, but was there to clean my home. I was uncomfortable with this and she did a quick, sloppy job and left after two hours when I am paying for three. Lori assured me she was to blame, she usually calls when the cleaning person changes and had dropped the ball. She agreed to only charge me two hours on my next cleaning. I checked my account later that day and was finally charged all four cleanings at once. It's a little easier to swallow $90 every two weeks, but $360 all at once was a shock. I once again called and was told I'd get a statement in the future and that the billing was all sorted out now and it wouldn't happen again. I agreed to give the new cleaning person another chance even though I wasn't happy with the job she did. Alma cleaned my house for the last time January 7th. She did a decent job but the tubs were still dirty, walls were not touched in the shower, dog hair on my bedroom dresser and bathroom counter made it pretty clear that the same towel was used on the floor as the counters. There is no other explanation. Kitchen floor was mopped with a Swiffer type mop which left a dull finish, sticky, and streaked. I feel that when you pay someone $30 an hour to clean your home it's all about the details and personal touches. The cleaning I received was rushed and sloppy. I will say that the company tried to make it right by offering to send someone else out to fix it and to replace Alma with someone more thorough, I decided to think about that for a bit and get back to them. My card was charged today for this cleaning (remember I was supposed to get an hour free), the total, $105. It should be $60. So now I have to call and sort it out. I'm sure they'll fix it because they do try to make you happy, but what a pain in the butt. They really need to get it together but I am sad to say I'm not giving them another chance. read more
