We have purchase a new build and the company won't allow their employees in the house to install anything. Doesn't matter if you have no cable run to the inside of the house. They make you hire a 3rd party vendor to run the cable in your house then charge you to install and turn it on regardless. I explained we can remain in our car and remain distant and let them do their job. It's no different than going to the grocery store or the gas station. This is our first experience with the company and it was very displeasing. Poor poor customer service. We have a business and they sent a lazy installer out to our business to hook up our service, he made up a lie then said we need a letter because he didn't want to install the coloscocabel, and said we had to do that our selves, how are we going to do that and hook it up to their damn system ! Update: Internet continues to drop multiple times per week for 1-4 hours at a time. Every time it does I record the date, time of event and duration of the event and submit via email to FCC complaints division and the Attorney General of Texas. The later simply per directive/request from an FCC investigator I was able to speak with over the phone. To be honest, I'm not sure anybody even works at the AG office. read more

Do not ever use Cable One. They have overcharged me SO many times, and don't bother calling customer service because they are zero help. They screw you over and don't care, horrible customer service. I have never written a review but after all of the money they have stolen from me I had to. Even after cancelling and confirming I had paid my final payment and would not ever be charged again, they sent another bill in the mail a month later! Absolutely terrible, internet service sucks, at first I had 100mbps service and I was only getting like 10mbps when downloading, so I upgrades to the $70 a month one which is 200 mbps and it it's no better just more expensive. TERRIBLE! We moved here a year ago and prior to that I thought Comcast was bad. We only have internet and it is extremely slow! Plus there are frequent outages and blips in service. This is literally the WORST internet provider EVER! I switched from satellite internet to Cable One and I pay $113 a month for 8 mb of Internet and barely get .5 mb consistently. Cable One only comes to my area on Wednesdays and they take over a week to go out to my home. When they come out they say my home is fine but the area is experiencing low speeds. This has gone on consistently for almost 2 months! When I call for help, they say the area is fine and it must be a problem with my modem and again we go through the cycle of waiting over a week for them to come out, they check my system, find that it is fine, and tell me crap again that the area is experiencing a problem and they'll look at it that day. But it NEVER gets fixed. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SUED!!!! IT STEALS MONEY AND PROMISES SERVICE THEY CONSISTANTLY CAN NOT PROVIDE. read more

Im writing this review a couple months late but I had a cable guy by the name of Shaun Wester who came to install my internet and quite obviously fell asleep during the time he was parked outside my house. My mom is elderly and was trying to recieve a simple service and this guy fell asleep on the job. What took him 15 minutes to do after I tapped on his window and woke him up ended up costing us an hour of our time. I have been given the run around on customerservice calls and at this point am through. Shaun has ruined sparklight for us and made me late to taking my mom to the doctor fo an appointment. He had a nasty attitude with her also. I suggest if they want to get any better they let this one go. And every other one who is that lazy. They get paid to sit at houses and sleep. I signed up to have 6 tvs conected to cable. I was told that would be fine. When the tech got here he told me that to hook up more than 4 tvs I would have to have another cable run to my house and set up another account with seperate billing. I clearly feel that I was lied to. Phone calls since the hookup have been NOSERVICE. I was told by a phone tech that he knew how to fix my tv modem hookup but he would not because I own my own router. When I signed up for the service I was told which router/ modem to buy. I have already given up on this. I got the self service kit, and was not able to get it working. No one at Cable One seems to know what they are doing. I brought it back for a refund of my $105, and I was told that they can not credit it back to my credit card. It will takes weeks to get a refund in the mail. I filed a complaint with the FCC. We've been a customer for over 30 years, dating back to prior company names. We have Sparklight cable TV, internet, and landline phone service and pay over $250 per month. I wish I could say that we have no problems with the service, but I have to be honest. The cable TV goes in and out when it rains. The landline phone service has been less than desirable and drops many calls. The internet service goes in and out periodically even though we supposedly have the upgrade package. I almost switched to a satellite competitor a couple of years ago, but didn't at the last minute because I just hated to change. We have had technicians out several times and called the 800 number several times in the past. Sometimes the problem is temporarily taken care of-sometimes not. On a brighter note, I do want to give an attaboy to Technician Robby Meek who works the Bonham area. I have needed a new TV remote for quite a while since the old one is worn out. After two or three trips to the Sparklight office in Sherman to only find them closed each time, I saw a Sparklight service truck in our area the day before Thanksgiving and Robby was more than happy to furnish me with a new remote and was very courteous. We were less than thrilled with our installation and the unprofessional appearance and demeanor of the contractors who installed it. However, we voiced our concerns via email and in less than 24 hours we received a call, an email and a visit was scheduled to ensure our service was properly set up and cables were buried to our satisfaction. Thus far, our internet service has been satisfactory. We were very impressed with the customer service aspect of addressing our problem. My parents have been paying for this service for a about a decade, we have upgraded or plan to the gamer and streamer package hich advertises speeds up to 600 or so but we only get about 10mbps and recently out internet has been cut for a week and once called they didnt believe us until another customer complained about the same situation with the internet being out in the same area its almost been a week and this issue still hasnt been resolved. read more

Can't stream Netflix because the modem Cable One provides, per the Geek Squad, is 6-7 years old which is SOP for Cable One. Terrible provider. Requires you to return your cable/internet equipment to initiate a disconnect/termination of service request, then charges you until the start of your next billing cycle. Internet service is unreliable. Daily outages. Outages and slow speed during "peak" internet times. If college is on break, don't assume you will have service at all. Service is better during hours while students are in school. When school lets out, you can expect slow speeds and outages. Service you would expect out of a cut-rate, backwoods, private owner and single operator business, eg. "Bob's Bakwuds Ennerweb and Fishin Gide Servise." TV service is more reliable but over priced. Phone service...since it is over the internet and based on the very poor internet service, I would not recommend it to anyone! read more

Cable One has been the WORST provider of services that I have ever dealt with. We are sent a bill for cable plus internet services every month yet when we call for support they say we are not in the system ! I only wish I had kept a record of how many phone calls have been made for no internet service and cable outages. The people are rude and condescending. We have called technical support to report problems and have been told no other persons have reported difficulties when two other neighbors had already called ! So frustrating. I would give no stars if that was possible. I have been uphappy with the service since the beginning. Nothing but problems. From not having service to being overcharged. I started out with grayson cable and a low great plan. When it switched over the price went up and has continued to go up. I need internet for school online. I'm told that I am going over my usage but I have not changed what I am doing. If anything, things have been used less or the same. My kids were home all day during the summer and watching TV, they go back to school and now no one is using internet until after 4 and its mostly just me for couple hrs. So it shouldn't be changing that much. My bill went up to $55 then to $65 with a warning and I knew that and was ok. Then no more warning and now I receive a bill for $108 and saying if will be $88 a month from now on because I went over. When I look at the usage online it doesn't make since. It show low usage in Apr, high in May, lower in Jun, lower in july, up in Aug, lower in Sept, then really low for oct which doesn't make sense since we are still in Oct unless saying I've already gone over for Sept. Why is there no unlimited plan? I mean if you are going to pay $88 a month then it should be unlimited!! I would never recommend cable one to anyone and hope to find another company to go with. I just wanted to say that I am very unhappy with my Cable One. ANY time I call in because of problems with my service or if I have questions, the person on the line is rude. Today was really it for me! I am enrolled in auto-pay, which is drafted to come out on a certain day of the month, which coincides with my pay period. We moved recently, and I understand that some things would change, but NO ONE notified me that my bill would be drafted out on the 1st! It has completely thrown off my budget an I wont be able to even afford groceries. When I called to see why my account had been changed without my authorization, I got to speak with Sheila, who was incredibly rude! What was her advice? To take me off auto pay so that I could pay whenever I wanted but I would be charged late fees after the 10th. She did not try to help me in ANY way. So, thanks to your service, I have no money to feed my family for another 2 weeks and when I moved, apparently my 2 year contract was renewed. There's NO WAY I can come up with the money to break out of my contract. We were also told that even though the cable was on, they still needed to have a service rep come out. When he got here, he was very unprofessional, very rude, talked down to me. He wanted to know why he "just had to come out," when everything was hooked up and that "it was a good thing we answered the door because he would have disconnected us."
