Horrible service 5 years we have been putting up with buffering and pixelating. Kenny Walker the Regional Manager has been aware and has chosen no action. I now have filed a complaint with the FCC it turns out during original installation 5 years ago the named modem and router the same name thus causing device's to be confused when trying to log into mesh router. Sparklight has been horrible to deal with. You would think being in a regional manager position you would at the very least answer emails and customers concerns. I actually cancelled my service after my service going out from 9/30/25 - 10/06/25 from 1/1:30pm until 6/7pm EVERYDAY. I work from home and need the internet to do my job. I reached out to Sparklight everyday the internet went out and would get reps who hung up on me, didn't care and gave me ridiculous reasons as to why the internet was out. We had it scheduled for a tech to come out on Monday, he drives into the apartment complex, parks, writes a note in the system saying he came to our door, knocked, and no one answered. If I could give Sparklight negative starts I would. Unfortunately, they have a contract that does not allow any other providers to come in and offer better quality service. When I called to set up my disconnect I was told. "take a video of you dropping it in the drop box." I asked if they could find me a location within a 100 mile radius and I was told "no, it can only be dropped at the Sherman location." I was also told they do not set up disconnects and dropping the equipment will disconnect the service. In all my years of living coast-to-coast, I have NEVER heard of this. As a member of the media, and former investigative news reporter, I encourage others former customers to reach out to me so I can start investigating the business practices of this Sparklight. Based on conclusive evidence, it appears they are targeting the demographic of the area and taking advantage of the people. When you cancel your service make sure you do the following: (If you cannot return it during their Tuesday - Thursday hours of operation.) 1. Take a video with the date and time stamp of you placing the items in a box and sealing. 2. Take it to the post office and send with delivery AND signature confirmation. 3. Make sure to take a video of you mailing it to Sparklight from the post office as the transaction is being made. Sparklight will not set up disconnect and your disconnect is ONLY when they receive the box. Until then, you will continue to be charged until someone notes they have received the box and marked it "returned" in your account. If you still have issues, contact the local Better Business Bureau with your complaint and FACTS (This is important to document the situation with facts and NOT opinions.) Be clear and concise. The more people who make formal complaints about the practice of a business, the more progress can be made and help enact change to Sparklight's corporate policy of questionable business practices. For my particular situation, it has been 6 days since they have received the equipment, but they do not have any record of the equipment being returned. This means I am still being charged even after returning my equipment. If they are doing this to me- they are doing it to others. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! We just moved to Sherman back in January. We moved into a new house, in a new neighborhood, Heritage Ranch Estates. Unfortunately, we chose Sparklight as our internet provider. The only thing more pathetic than their internet, is their customer service! They TOTALLY SUCK!!! We had to have them come out 5 times in 8 months and called them at least 7 times to report numerous router/ programming issues! When we call plumbers, electricians, AC contractors, etc, we are ALWAYS given an appointment time, so we will be sure to be home. Makes sense for the contractor and for us. So, this morning we wake up and our internet is out AGAIN!!! We go through the same routine, we call Sparklight and they have us do the "unplug the router, wait 3 minutes, plug it back in,,process" Ofcourse it doesn't work, so they have to schedule a service technician to come out. This company has been an all-around horrible experience for me and my partner. 4- 5 Internet outages almost every single day, even though it says we have high speed internets all of our videos buffer constantly, they claimed they gave us the best gaming modem that they could give us and I've got it from Insiders in the company that states that they didn't and they in fact give that eero to everyone. I've had to have workers come out here to service the internet several times, more often than not they leave without doing anything saying they can't figure out what's wrong with it or just that the area is having bad spots in general. The company has claimed on numerous occasions that it does not throttle our internet usage because the plan were on but I had witnessed it throttle it several times, they claim that we should be able to run up to 10 computers playing video games and streaming to twitch simultaneously with no fault but that's a blatant lie considering I can barely run one streaming computer at a time. The app seems to be really bugged out currently, as it tells me that I have an update available for the modem but the button is grayed out and refuses to let me update it. Overall we pay about $100 a month if not more for Internet that we can barely use. The customer service is awful, the workers are lazy, they show up well past the time they say they would come over to service something, and even the people that I have known for most of my life that have worked at that place that have really good job credentials say that it is one of the worst internet companies to work for or have. I wish there was a way to give this company a lower star review but there's not so I'll settle with one star and I will post this in every place that I can find that allows me to leave reviews for spark light internet. read more

The ONLY reason we went with dimlight was that we purchased a new home and they were the only choice. It's been less than a year and the internet goes down every couple weeks for days at a time. I'm beginning a daily record of Cable First a little history. I've been a customer for 10+ years with no breaks. I pay for their 600 Megabite plan currently. It advertises speeds of up to 160mps. I write them a check for $150-$200 a month. Every single month. Since moving to Denison a year and a half ago I have had the following "adventure". 1) I have never gone 24 hours without a time when the internet system dropped out entirely at least once. 2) On average I have been without internet service approximately 20% of each day. (This doesn't include rain and wind outages). 3) on average our tv cable has been down half of one day per week. 4) I have called Cable One over 12 times to report outages and ask for help. 5) I have been visited by a tech 6+ times. And a master tech (works the system outside the house) has been out 4 times. I've walked in their building 6 times. Begging for help. Desperate for a solution. I've been promised a refund over 12 times. "We don't give it till the problem is definitely fixed." Today I received my first actual credit. "One month where I shouldn't have much to pay" haven't actually seen it yet. Right now. I have 16mbps available. It's been there for 5 days. So basically I can run about 1 video in the house at a time. Or do a couple slow browsing sessions at once. "Think 3G phone speed without WiFi". I lose about $500 a day in sales (I work from home. Every day it's slow and $1000 a day when it's "out". I've been nice. Patient. Kind. Understanding. I'm still going to be kind. But I'm ready to share my experience. I called Cable One to cancel my service, effective 8/20/19, because I was moving. The CSR told me that they would have to research my new location to see if they serviced that area and that they would call me. I never received a call so today, 9/3/19 I took the receiver back. They are going to bill me for the two weeks I didn't use it because I had not turned in the box. This was not mentioned in my cancellation call! The CSR at their office was unapologetic and insisted I would be billed. Sparklight is the worst. I have been a customer for three years. Always paid my bill on time. I moved to another city, so I called to have my service turned off. A person from Sparklight came by when I wasn't home (but someone else was there for me) and picked up my equipment. Sparklight claims they never got it. Even when I gave them his name and description and date it was picked up. So they have charged me for an extra month PLUS equipment that was "not returned" I have called several times talking to different people to get it resolved and they say there's nothing they can do since whoever picked it up didn't do their job.
