Date of Incident: October 24 - 27, 2025 Location: Weatherford, TX (Hudson Oaks Office) If I could give Netlink a negative rating, I absolutely would. On Friday, October 24th, 2025, storms rolled through Weatherford, and my parents' internet service went out. My parents are retired, and everything they do depends on their internet connection. We called Netlink immediately. Their phone system said "call volume is higher than normal" and offered a callback option. We selected it -- no one ever called back. We tried again on Saturday. Still no callback. By Monday, I finally reached someone in "IT support." The representative, who introduced himself as Jet, had a very strong Indian accent. I asked where he was located -- he admitted he was outside the U.S. and was not allowed to say where. After researching, I found out that Netlink contracts all their customer service and IT support out to India (Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh) because it's cheaper for them than hiring qualified support here in the United States. In other words, Netlink cares more about saving a dollar than serving their customers. I spent over an hour (1 hr 4 min) on the phone with Jet, and he still couldn't fix my parents' issue. He couldn't even schedule a technician. I eventually called the main 800 number and pressed the "Sales" option just to reach someone local. When I finally reached a rep in Hudson Oaks, I asked for a supervisor in the U.S. -- and was transferred right back to another person in India! I even called 682-257-4414 and spoke to a dispatcher who told me the earliest technician visit was Wednesday afternoon -- nearly five days after the service went down. That's completely unacceptable. I used to be a Netlink customer myself, but I switched to Starlink, and I'm so glad I did. Starlink has been reliable, fast, and their support actually cares about their customers. When storms roll through, Starlink keeps working -- Netlink doesn't. Netlink is the perfect example of a company that has lost touch with its community. They outsource American jobs overseas, provide terrible customer service, and fail to deliver reliable internet when it matters most. Save yourself the headache. Don't get Netlink -- go with Starlink instead. It's well worth the investment. To make matters worse, Netlink is an American company on paper -- headquartered in Madison Heights, Michigan -- but nearly all of their customer service and IT support is outsourced to India, specifically Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The U.S. office handles sales and contracts, while the actual tech support and customer service you deal with are based overseas. They do this because it's far cheaper to pay employees in India ($8,000-$15,000 a year) than to pay qualified Americans ($50,000-$65,000 a year). In the end, Netlink chooses to save money instead of investing in reliable U.S.-based service and customer satisfaction. That's why their support is so slow, frustrating, and disconnected from their customers. In comparison, Starlink has been the complete opposite experience. Their service is reliable, consistent, and built for real people, not call-center scripts. When storms roll through, Starlink keeps working -- unlike Netlink, which seems to go down every time the weather changes. Starlink's customer support is responsive, professional, and most importantly, based in the United States, where representatives actually understand your needs and care about resolving problems quickly. It might cost a little more up front, but it's worth every penny for the reliability, speed, and peace of mind. If you are in any way technically sophisticated or rely on your internet connection for work, you want to steer very clear of this ISP. During an 2 business-day outage (7/28-2/29), I opened an outage ticket and requested escalations regularly...no information on the RFO, no ETTR, no information to aid in my planning. After call 4 for information (at ~3:45pm on 7/28, 7 hours into the outage) they told me that there was a power issue in one of their COs, and that a 3rd-party had to drive in and fix it. No info on the nature of the outage, whether it was a problem with a device PSU or if it was facility power...just 'please wait, you'll be back up when this gets fixed.' I use my ISP to connect to my job. I'm a contractor...I don't work, I don't get paid. This didn't seem to matter to Nextlink...I got connected via one of their competitors and was back to work again the next day. Take my advice...disconnect/change to a different ISP if use your connection to work from home, whether self-employed or otherwise. NextLink is unreliable, unresponsive, and semi-professional. read more

my opinion is horse crap service. we pay EXTRA per month for a business account and that should get us to a priority service but IT DOES NOT!!!! We are being lied to EVERYTIME. We are paying for a service we are not receiving what we are paying for. Everytime a lightning storm crosses over us, the box on the dish burn out leaving us with no internet for days. That's why we pay EXTRA is to get us back going because my wife works from home but we are not getting that service. She had to miss work days on end because we are put in line, the bottom of the line. When we called to have the dish moved, we sent photos of where it was to be repositioned but when the tech showed up, he brought a new dish and put it in the same place the other one is located knowing that's the problem area and he knew it. He was supposed to come out and relocate it but did not because he wasn't told to. So the next time a lightning storm moved over us, we will be back looking for more service. We will be adding a 2nd internet company to be able to use if the service goes down again. That way we can go directly over to them and it will be a 6 month trial that had to be approved by the company my wife works for. When it proves out superior, we will change over to the new one. We have had the same problem 3 months in a row with the same crappy wait in line service WITH A BUSINESS ACCOUNT WE PAY EXTRA FOR so if you are looking for internet service, it's like buying a new car. They are glad to be nice to you until after you buy it. Then see you later chump. read more

I was very pleased with Keoni Cano changing our antenna. My experience is 5 star. He did a great job. The reason for a 3 star is past experience. A few years ago when they put in the antenna we had so much trouble with our internet and couldn't get a good worker out here. My son ended up fixing the problem. That was a few years ago. I am hoping to have more work done like this last job. If I can continue to get work done like this last job done by Keoni, then I will give a five star review. read more

This is one of the worst internet service providers out there. They don't have 24/7 customer support. The website lies and tells you they do. When you put in service tickets they go no where and during an outage no one calls you back and you cannot get anyone to answer the phone at the office. We have been down for two days, during this time we have been on hold for almost 3 hours, no one will call us back and we have opened several service tickets that have gone ignored. Please do not use this company. They are very scammy and will lie straight to your face. I've missed several days of work because of this. I finally called billing and got someone who claimed we didn't have any tickets open. I have several emails saying we do. Excuses abound and not once has an offer been made to compensate for lost work time, research or even simple relaxation. I have been a Nextlink customer since 2016 when I moved to Waxahachie, TX. They have been reliable and prompt to respond when I have called in or dropped them an email to support. Recently I noticed intermittent throughput issues since a large wind storm came through a few months ago. I reached out to them and felt it might be good to have someone come and look at the antenna and confirm it wasn't loose. The technician, via email, told me that they had determined there was a cross signal between me and the tower where my radio connected. They suggested we have a technician come out and replace the radio with a different model using a different technology, which should alleviate the cross chatter that was giving me fits. Despite their busy schedule due to the storms in the area, they were able to accommodate my availability. They determined a technician would arrive between 1:00 and 5:00 pm and sure enough around 1:30 pm, I received a call from Josh, who was 10 or 15 minutes away from me. He arrived around 1:45 p.m. and had a second installer in tow, I believe his name was Corey or Cody, who was in training. Despite the sweltering heat and the height of the roof, about 25 ft, they climbed on up and determined the new radio would be the best option. They told me it would take approximately an hour and that was okay with me, as I was currently using my phone hotspot to prevent any disconnection while I worked remote. Sure enough, within a little over an hour, they knocked on the door, came inside and replaced the POE adapter and started confirming my connection. The throughput exceeded my expectation, as did the professionalism and attention to detail they exhibited. The two installer/technician's action, attitude androfesionalism spoke volumes about the quality of individuals they employ. Good job, Nextlink. Keep up the good work. I would highly recommend finding a different Internet provider, other than next link. We have had constant issues with our service Internet going in and out in the last two weeks alone. I've had to call them five times and have been without service for four days before they can get it restored. When I said I They literally came back and offered me two months free and 50% of the cost for the next year thinking that reducing the price and saving some money is going to justify the extremely poor service they provide. Service was requested prior to Nextlink's completion of their fiber optic system in the area, including provision of my address for future account setup. Crews worked locally for several weeks, installing services at or near existing Kinetic phone and internet boxes for nearly all addresses in the vicinity, with the notable exception of mine. Following this, a salesperson contacted me about signing up; I expressed interest but highlighted that service had not been extended to my property. Initially, they proposed charging an extra fee to connect my residence from a neighbor's location--a distance of nearly 400 feet, given the rural setting--but upon further discussion, it was agreed there would be no additional fees and service would be installed at my shop first, then run to the house to accommodate pending construction plans. Unfortunately, the installer failed to follow these instructions, running the connection directly to the house and only an ethernet line to the shop--contrary to the original agreement. Several weeks later, the trenching crew arrived but again ignored the sales order and my explicit instructions. They placed only the fiber line in the trench, leaving the ethernet cable exposed even though it ran adjacent to the trench. Communication with the salesperson verified that this was not what had been agreed upon; however, due to winter conditions, re-trenching could not proceed until late spring. The exposed ethernet line sustained damage multiple times, leading to protracted phone calls just to arrange technician repairs each occurrence. Having waited patiently throughout the summer, no crew appeared to resolve the trench issue; the salesperson has since become unresponsive and supervisors assert they cannot resolve the matter. Most recently, a significant service outage required over two days of engagement with technical support--via both online chat and phone calls--to simply schedule a technician visit. Repair is now set for five days from the initial report. At this point, significant frustration remains with the lack of resolution and support, and there is a strong wish for a viable alternative service provider read more

If you have Nextlink Internet, I am so sorry! This internet company is absolutely ridiculous. I haven't even had them for a year and I've already had 6 outages with just the outside box alone! They have claimed to come fix it but within the past two weeks it has gone down 3 times and they've had to "replace" it with a new one everytime, and forget about getting service the day of or next day. You're lucky if they'll come out within a week. No surprise here, i am again out of internet and they're telling me they can't come out till Thursday. When just last week I was out of internet too and they didn't come till 3 days later. Oh but don't worry they'll take off $20 for the inconvenience of being out of internet for 2 weeks! Bait and switch. They told me my internet was going to be $50 per month but when I received my bill they charged for equipment rental, router rental and other things. In the end I was paying over $100. Make sure you ask them to explain any and all costs. When I canceled service I called 3 different times and thoroughly explained I wanted everything taken off my roof and the holes seeled. No surprise, I still have brackets on my roof. I called them in September and told them thar we were moving at the end of that month. They informed me that they needed 30 day notice, so I reiterated that we were moving as our house had already sold and closed. They asked if we wanted to move the service since they service the area where we were moving. I did not have an answer about NEW service, but reiterated that we were out of the current service address. I told them I would talk to my husband about NEW service, but did not call them back. We live in a rural area and changed to Nextlink after a rep visited our house touting faster speeds. We experience frequent outages, which is to be expected in a rural setting. However, the two most recent outages have lasted hours with no help whatsoever from tech support, only a promise that they're "working on it." Service is awful, wait times are long, and pay more for a 10 mbps download speed and 1 mbps upload speed than AT&T which was 20x faster than that. Their technicians say trees in the way can cause the bad service. This company is a joke. read more

I signed up for a 2 month free trial and service started in January 2023. I had several service tickets right away and outages. I then received a notification of a charge of $521 that went to collection. We signed up for a FREE for 2 months service and I quit service before those 2 months were up because with their outages they got my daughter fired from her work from job because of unreliable internet. They don't offer service in the areas they claim to serve. They offered free installation in my area for a limited time, but when I contacted them, I was told they don't service my area. They said they would contact me as soon as service was available. I'm sure once they have service available, the free installation deal will have expired. If you're in my situation where they are the only licensed provider besides satellite, check with the FCC Broadband map. I promptly challenged their claim to offer service. Anyone who they claim to cover only to pull the rug should also start the challenge process with the FCC. The FCC is currently taking these claims seriously as they are used to allocate government funding. read more

This company is the worst. Fixes are implemented and they try however. I DO NOT HAVE CONSISTENT speed or connection. They have been out to house multiple times. Confirmed it was not their dish (Toronto) blamed my router and so a new router was left. This did nothing. My computer ip was configured so I tested and went around everything with the same result. Without notice they upgrade the software at the tower, drop your connection or with help create a ticket to only fail to follow up. There is no consistency..tickets are always sent to "upper super special" tech and they fail to tell you what was done (if anything). If you would like to confirm your name address phone number and spend endless hours listening a bad tune to have nothing done then go with them! read more

Service is terrible. They often lower there prices and do not notify current customers. I have had to call them twice on two different occasions to lower my monthly payment to the new prices. They stated that it was my job as the customer to look into pricing changes. So the way I look at it they were taking money from me. I have spent over a hour on the phone trying to talk to a manger and they tell me there are no supervisors or mangers are available .Over 24 hr later and still no call. Terrible Customer Service! Internet was out for over 2 days. It was impossible to call in and speak to a Customer Service Rep. timely. When I finally after many tries got to speak to a Technical rep., and after going through all the verification, she said "Give me a few minutes to check a few things on my end." Then she disconnected the call. Did she try to call me back? Nope. I also submitted a service request online. I eventually got a call back from a Tech. The outage was only at my house and not the neighborhood. Since I had already done all the suggested troubleshooting for 2 days, the tech said he would schedule someone to come to my home. He gave me a 4 hour, 8-12 window for today, Friday, May 9. So, I made arrangements to be at home for the window given me. I was also told I would get a call from the tech letting me know when he was on his way. Did a tech call? NO Did a tech show up withint the 4 hour window of time given me? NO Later, the tech showed up and it was determined by the tech that there was a bad fiber connection within the box that Nextlink had installed on the outside of my house. He repaired it. Am I satisfied? NO Considering not etting timely customer service, and a Rep hanging up on me and not calling me back, and considering that a tech did not come within the 4 hour window given me, I am going to subscribe to Spectrum that is the only other option for my neighborhood and then cancel my Nextlink service. Surely Spectrum can do better than Nextlink in how they handle customers who need to contact them because of an outage, and then follow through as promised. Nextlink failed miserably! read more

Expensive and horrible. I've had one too many problems with this internet provider. Just avoid it if you can. Our internet is constantly spotty and intermittent. I moved into a new build in Chico and requested service from Nextlink. They showed up and were unable to provide service requesting that I place a 50 ft tower on top of my two story house. Seemed like a bit much. I then had to pay to have them do a site survey, $75. I was then told if I placed a 25 foot tower closer to the road the could provide service. Once I was able to find a contractor to place a 25 ft tower, at the cost of several thousands of dollars I am now told it will take a 35 ft tower. In addition to all of this, the sale person continued to talk over me not allowing me to explain the situation. Not only would I give them a zero star rating if possible, I would give them negative stars. This is by far the most ridiculous company I have ever had to work with. read more

We do live out in the country , but the people who owned our house prior already had the equipment on the roof!! They some how we're still unable to get us set up , one guy came out and didn't even know what to do? We were told that when he had to leave that they were going to send out THE expert and they will have us set up 100% That did not happen and keep trying to force us into purchasing a tower for 2k. Again, we love out in the country but if my metro pcs phone can get great internet and reception I don't understand why they could not get the internet set up with the equipment that was already up. Have been a customer for 3 years. After many, many, MANY support calls, they installed a new system called Tarana, which worked great. For 3 months. Now it is back to on-off-on again, and many, many, MANY calls for technical support. Apparently NO ONE at Nextlink knows how to fix their hardware or software. Use ANY OTHER PROVIDER!!! We are supposed to get a new fiber service in the next few weeks. Now going to the local library and other places to connect and work. read more
