Spectrum is the ABSOLUTE worst company I've EVER dealt with!!…read more1) They are the most expensive internet company. They don't START that way, but they increased my bill $10.00/month for the box, among other reasons for increases. 2) Their service cuts out when it rains, the wind blows, the sun is shining, maintenance and so on. It went out so often it was ridiculous. I asked for price reductions for when the system went out, but they had special rules for that, as well!! You had to call when it was out and give them specific times that I was unable to use the internet. I can't imagine what that would do for my customers if I had Spectrum business to depend on their service!! As a matter of fact, I once called my doctors office when it was raining and their internet was down. I had to ask if they were with Spectrum and they said that they were. They said, "it's ALWAYS going out!" 3) When I went to the Spectrum store to cancel my service after over more than 5 years of service, they asked why I wanted to leave. I told them because of the price and the reliability!! After 5 years of service, my cost was OVER $300.00 a MONTH. At that time they offered to lower my monthly cost to just over $200.00!! I said, "if you could've lowered my monthly prices this much, why wasn't it offered this in the 5 years I was with them!? They just said that the offer was just for right now. They actually lied right to my face!! They start with a reduced price, but it slowly goes up...EACH month!! If you're a business I would DEFINITELY find another option. My local electric company offers a $50.00/a month price. I've had it for 2 years now, and it has NEVER gone out! Not once! And the price hasn't increased a dime. Not once!! I keep seeing their commercials about how dependable they are, but I know not 1 single person that has/had their service that was pleased with the price OR the service!! That is why I felt I had to let people know the truth. I hope this review helps even 1 person from depending on this company!!

I read through these reviews and try and decipher what the real issue is. It is not the actual…read moreservice, it works great. I am a Technology professional and I can say with experience the internet service is robust, reliable and well priced. I also have had a Business circuit from Spectrum and if you want to really be miserable make the switch. You will love Grande then, I promise you. Most of the legitimate complaints are related to a bad installing schedule. I was lucky from what I read. I guess my advise would be, be open to there scheduling process, over communicate with them on the schedule and cross your fingers. On the reviews describing slow internet in apartments. It may very well be the cabling in the apartments (or at your home). When that is the case they can bring a great circuit to the building and have signal loss at it get routed onto the property cabling to your unit. As frustrating as that is Grande will not be too successful correcting until the cabling is replaced or repaired. On a positive note if you do in fact get Grande you will benefit from a solid reliable connection. My two cents

If I'm checking out Charter on Yelp, I already have a good idea of what my internet connection and installation process will be like. (It was fine by the way.) No, what I need to know is what to expect when I have to come down here to either return or exchange equipment. First off, you pick a number and then they'll call it out when its your turn. The problem though is that not all people follow this system. For example, I had some Latino people walk in when I was waiting in line. They then proceeded to the next available employee. I understand if English is not your first language, but that doesn't give you a free pass to cut in line. After that though, the experience with the people at the desk was fine.

This place is a nightmare. There is clearly a leadership problem. It should not take 2 trips, 45…read moreminutes of waiting, and several calls to simply return equipment. There's just no excuse for it. I'm not sure if it's resourcing, poor workflows, or disengaged staff, but it shouldn't be this hard. We'd been customers of Charter for many years and were tired of paying the "loyalty tax" for subpar internet at premium pricing. Our experience with Charter was fine up to that point, but after the hassle of returning this equipment, I don't see us returning to Charter. What a disappointment.

Customer service is the worst. They came out to bury the fiber, I told them I wanted it 6 inches…read moredown so when I aerate my lawn the fiber line would not be damaged. They only we down maybe 2 inches. I called to have the bury it deeper and all I got was a run around. I told them that when I aerate and the fiber line is cut all the repairs are on them not me. Update Customer service called and had 3 techs out within an hour, they reburied the fiber line to the depth needed. It took a lot to get it done and thankfully they finally responded.

If you're considering switching to Fiber First, my advice is simple: wait (or better yet, don't)…read more The sales process was polished. Everything that followed was the exact opposite. We were promised faster speeds, a static IP, and a lower monthly bill. Since both my wife and I work from home, we specifically requested a Saturday installation to avoid interrupting our jobs. The installation never happened. The installer couldn't complete the work because of a conduit blockage. Two days later, a construction crew arrived, never knocked on the door, never explained what they were doing, trenched through my front yard, and cut my existing internet line while I was in a Zoom meeting with my employer and my wife was teaching a live online nationwide class to 1000+ people. Our internet went down instantly...and remained down for days. My wife then unexpectedly encountered a worker inside our fenced backyard because no one had informed us they needed access. He could not communicate with us in our preferred language. The crew left. No installation. No internet. A trench through my yard. Then the phone calls began. More than 20 calls later, the answers rarely changed: "It's been escalated." "Someone will call you." "A contractor will be there in 10-14 days." Those promises came and went. The salesperson told me to purchase a specific router before installation. The installer later told me it wouldn't work and had to loan me another router instead. As I write this review, the temporary cable is still laying across my yard. The one exception was Laura in customer service, who actually took ownership of the situation. Without her, I honestly don't know if we'd even have internet today. What frustrates me most isn't that mistakes were made. It's that fixing those mistakes became my responsibility. Every meaningful update required another phone call from me. Every promised deadline passed. Multiple appointments set only for them to "no call, no show". Every step forward seemed to require the customer to push the process along. There was no meaningful apology, no service credit, no discounts, and no acknowledgment of the disruption to our jobs, our property, or our time. A company should be judged not by how aggressively it sells its service, but by how it responds when things go wrong. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Fiber First.
