Our Internet never works! They have changed our channel several times and still have issues. My husband and I have the 12 gb data plan with our cell service and end up using all of it every month simply because our WiFi never works. What are we even paying for if we can't hardly use it. I have the Internet service. While it is very reliable, they impose a monthly data limit and require you to move to a higher level of service if you exceed the limit 3 times. I'm working to determine what has caused my usage to jump significantly lately and have tracked down one potential offender (DropBox). I hope to have my data use back to normal soon - but if I go over again, my bill will in all likelihood increase by double or more. I'm looking at other options for Internet service. The speed is great but the data restriction is frustrating. After over 3 years it may be time for a change. read more

We have had Cable One for more than a year now and are considering switching to satellite. Cable One has been out here 4 times, changed a bunch of fittings, ran new wire from the house to the street and still our picture is tiling and the audio drops out, frequently! Apparently, they are unable to fix this, so maybe it's time to switch to satellite. We don't have HBO, or any other premium channels and are paying $140. This service just isn't worth it! read more

This internet provider is horrible, not only do they have certain days where they disconnect you from Internet but they also require you to upgrade to a higher priced package. Cable one already upgraded my package without my approval or authorization which was close to a $10 raise. Not really a big deal but now because for some reason they say I exceeded a 300gb limit, I have to upgrade or else... I doubt I go over 300gb a month, I've gone under a 2gb for my phone company with no problems. This is ridiculous and recommend ANYONE who wants Internet to consider century link or any other isp than cable one. I've been with them for close to 2 years and pay my bill regularly, you would think they care about loyal customers but don't.. It's a shame that they do this. read more

Been a customer of theirs for over 4 years. Went to cancel the TV and Phone because it was not worth the price. Called them and let them know I wanted to cancel and when they asked why I told them that they priced themselves out of the market for me. The got upset and would not even send a box for their equipment. I have to take it to them before they cancel. Glad it's over with them. I went from $124.00 a month to $180.00 in four years for the same service. They even took stations off that were part of the plan and did not replace them. Bad business to deal with. read more

How can you get it so wrong? I set up my new internet service on line and selected an install date, paid for my install and 1st month and received a conformation. I took a day of work to meet them and no one showed up during the window that was given. I called to let them know that no one had showed and they informed me that they did not have me scheduled and only showed me in the system at a previous residents from 2 years earlier. After a bit of complaining and explaining they were able to find my online order and scheduled someone to come install the system that afternoon (glad I didn't have to take another day off). After waiting around all afternoon I got a call from the installer letting me know he was there and asked where I was. I was standing in my garage with the door open and there wan no one at my house... He was at my previous address from 2 years ago. The Installer was nice and agreed to come to my new address (luckily it was close by) and finish the install. During the install the tech called in to activate the system and once again gave my new address (this it the 3rd time they have got this new address). The tech was great and I had internet Yeah! Three weeks later while picking my kids up from the ex wife she hands me a cable one bill that had come to her address. #1 Why did this invoice go to my ex (at my old address) after I have given them my info 3 times at this point? #2 I paid for the install and 1st month, why am I getting a bill already that is for more than what I was quoted and does not show my payment? The following Monday I get a frantic call from the ex wife. Cable One had actually taken money from her account to pay my bill? Now I am dealing with a very irritated ex (thanks Cable One...). She called cable one to dispute the charge and was met with someone that had no clue to what was going on and was not much help to her. I called immediate after and actually got someone helpful. Evidently when I moved out she paid for 1 month of service from her account two years ago and they kept that info on file and it somehow became associated with my phone number bla bla bla. They could refund her money but it would take 7-10 business days (not acceptable) so I paid her back and kept the credit on my account. Then I realized, where was the credit from my original on line payment?!?!? They had to look my card info up to even find the payment and getting applied to my account (evidently the payments "just float around out there some times and dont get applied to the account when you pay on line"). At this point I am extremely frustrated and ready to have them just cancel my service and start over with a new provider. I asked about just disconnecting and they offer me a $30 credit (kind of an insult after this amount of hassle), they should have offered that to my Ex to get her off my back! Knowing I should have an $80 credit for what i originally paid plus the $30 they just offered I should have a month coming with no payment so I am going to give it a chance, but if my next bill is incorrect I am throwing in the towel and looking for new service! Thru out this process I heard several times "the online system doesn't work well and they have problems all the time". Kind of odd for a company offering internet service to have a poor online performance. If you are going to use Cable One call your local office... Sorry this is a book, but you cant make this stuff up! read more

They do have fast service with no contract, but if you use Netflix you will go over your bandwidth limit and they threaten to double your monthly rate, unless you sign up for a pricey upgrade. They don't tell you that, of course and they raise their rates every year just to stick it to you! After years of loyalty to Cable One, they could care less about their so called valued customers. If you sign up for these guys be prepared to pay extra, a lot extra! I will accept a tiny bit slower service with Century Link to watch all the Netflix I want at NO EXTRA cost, thanks for nothing Cable One read more

Worst tv experience in 35 years. Getting an appointment to fix a problem is horrible. Tv pauses every 5-15 minutes for 10 seconds, loosing important points in a show. TiVo minis loose connection to main unit all the time. read more

After going over the limit on my already overpriced internet data plan, Cable One increased my plan to a higher level, which cost an additional $30/month. They did so without consulting me, and certainly without my permission. That is HORRIBLE customer service and one of the fastest ways to lose a customer's trust, as you did mine. I'm gone. read more

They provide the fastest internet in our area of Caldwell. They are always helpful if we call. We have had some shoddy internet as of late and had to buy an amplifier, but I am not sure it is an issue with the company. They have been great in trying to help us work it out. We do not bundle with them, so this review is for internet only. read more

Stay away!! They advertise no contract, no internet cap. BUT if you go over their data limit, they will give you 3 warnings and automatically 'upgrade' you to the plan that fits your data usage. NO WHERE is this stated on their website, terms and conditions. BUT it is HIDDEN inside their Company Policies. Buyer Beware!! If you predominately use the internet to stream/watch movies you will quickly outgrow their data limit. This is completely asinine. Constantly loose internet service. Get nothing but excuses from tech support. The internet works after I call then goes away. They tell me to get my own modem so I don't have to call them I can call whoever makes the modem. What a joke this company is! read more

We had Cable One in a previous house, but when we moved, only satellite was available for TV, and we had microwave for internet. We had a few interruptions to service due to weather on both of them, and although satellite boasts so many more stations. Most of them are shopping networks. We were glad when they laid the cable in our neighborhood. They were efficient in setting things up when they came out. However, the tube they laid underground was not large enough for the fiber optic line. This was a common occurrence for other neighbors. They laid it on top of the ground past a fence that we used occasionally. We were told they would lay the new tube within 2 weeks, then call us to schedule a new date to put the fiber optic into it. About a week later, they came out to put the larger tube in, and told us the office would be calling us about when someone would come out to put the fiber optic in the tube. A couple of weeks later, my husband found a workman in the area and told him our concern. He said he would pass on the message. Again, we heard nothing. In the mean time, we cannot put our trailer away, and my husband had to carefully maneuver thru the gate and around the above ground line on his lawn mower. I called the office on a Friday morning and was told someone would call me that afternoon. The following Tuesday, I received a call, and given a time when he would be out. They came out and finished the job. Although this was a nightmare, we have had cable for several years before this and have been very happy with the channels and few interruptions. We have had experience with several different cable companies. Although we believe Comcast was our favorite, Cable One has been a good provider, and they continue working on their features. When we had to be without cable for 2 years, we noticed how many more features they had installed. Although we had a fiasco of problems during the installation, we are still happy that we have cable TV and not satellite. We were also glad to finally have the speed on our internet. We found the personnel to be courteous and sympathetic. It just seems they could get their act together when trying to resolve problems. They either have to hire more people or update their procedures to cover what to do when things don't go right. read more

Not overly satisfied with Cable-One. Switched my 10mb service to the 50mb service. Found out really quickly (within 2 weeks) that I would be eating up the 50gb cap too quickly. So, I cancelled and told them to switch me back to 10mb service that I had before. They refused and said I could only get the 5mb service because they no longer have the 10mb package. So, now I'm stuck with the choice of half the speed of what I originally had, at unlimited download, or a contract rate at 50mb with a data cap of 50gigs and 50cents for each gig over the 50gig cap. The 10mb service was actually good, I got greedy for the 50mb and they took advantage of that and now I'm stuck with shite speeds and Cable-One being the only provider out here. Corporate wont respond to my requests for reinstating my 10mb service either. read more

We were told a price for certain stations we wanted then found out we did not get those stations in the package we bought. We were lied to and found out AFTER the installation that those stations were going to cost more! Our cable box went out the very next day and we called service which informed us that it would be 4 days before they could get someone back out to fix it. Meantime we had no TV! We got really bad service! They got their payment up front but take their time bringing in and maintaining service! read more

Unhappy. Day one the preson who came out and setup the Internet ran the cable on the ground so the next time I mowed I would cut up the cable he also setup the modem in my childs room (she's 5 ya not cool) and didn't leave any paperwork. It took over a week of talking to cable one to have them come out and just look even after I had posted pictures on Facebook. Anyways they only gave me one month free witch cost me more money to repair everything they had left. Now they have an offer for faster Internet and they still won't help out, also I'm a high Internet user they don't know what that is I was told the Internet I need well now I have to upgrade to their highest Internet. If you're somebody looking for a new Internet service provider stay away from Cable One as if it's the most dangerous viral plague on earth. I've been a very loyal customer of cable one for many years until they decided to become crooks. About a year ago they called me to tell me about this great new plan they have that would increase my speeds but keep my monthly cost the same. What they didn't tell me was about their new 300 gigabyte data cap that they had put in place. This was not a big deal at first but now I mainly use Netflix and Hulu Plus for my TV causing me to go over the 300 gigabytes for 3 months. Cable one took it upon themselves to alter my account to a higher gigabyte plan without consulting me at all. I found out about this change when I looked at my bank account and realized that they had automatically withdrawn significantly more money than usual. It more than doubled my payments. This is unacceptable. In my opinion it is very unscrupulous and is downright criminal for a company to do this. If the authorities read this review and the many others out there like it they should consider investigating cable one. Consumers of the Treasure Valley if you value your hard earned money stay away from cable one at all costs. They're nothing but a bunch of thieves. read more

While I'm happy with the quality of the service we pay for, I'm not happy we have to watch how many gigs we use. I have 3 kids and we don't have cable, so we use Netflix to watch shows. If I pay for the internet, I shouldn't have to not go over a certain number of gigs. I mean I paid for the internet... plain and simple. read more

I would probably give 3-4 stars if they raised the data cap. As it is now, 300gb per month is not nearly enough for a family. Go over 3 times and they'll change your plan and charge you at least double. It's very simple Cable One... change your caps or I'm gone. read more

Cable One is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with. Signed up for 50 mb service. First month had 5-10 days of intermitent outages due to upgrade techinical issues according to tech support. Nothing done there to help. Then received bill for more than quoted and was advised there were overage charges, and when I signed up I advised them of what I was going to use this for and they told me this would be perfect. Limited data and very poor reliability along with terrible customer service and lack of customer support. Would never do business with them again. read more

I took a day off work to sit in my house all afternoon waiting for Cable One installation. After they are an hour late, I call them to see what is going on. I am told that they tried to call my wife's cell phone and she didn't answer, so they canceled the appointment and never came to my door. I said that I don't understand why they would decide to cancel an appointment without even coming to the door! What if she did not have service or was working at the time and couldn't answer? Then I start getting "its just policy" over and over again. If i schedule an appointment, of course I am going to be there I scheduled it! After speaking to two different people whom had zero concern for what has happened, they kindly offered to let me take a second day off of work to wait for them again! I did tell them that that doesn't work and shortly after was hung up on. Yes I was frustrated, no I never once yelled or use any inappropriate language. I know they don't care about one individual customer but maybe someone who notices this will know who can work to improve this situation. What other company in the world would still be in business with the attitude of you need me more than I need you! And now based on this post I see cable one also has data limits??? I had my own run in with Cable One. First, what is with the longest automated phone call CABLE ONE? When can you get to a live person? Second, when I called Cable One to report my Internet was not working, the person I talked to (Dave) talked like he could care less that my wife needed the Internet for her job. I don't think Cable One is a service based company because they schedule repair times for a whole day (8AM-5PM) They must think no one works their own job. I waited all day to get a call from a repairman saying he was on his way. This didn't happen! I called around 2:00 to see if Cable One had forgotten me, and a rude girl said the tech would get to me when he got to me. I hung up. I then called at 5:05 "angry" and asked where the tech was and I got a response saying he would be there soon. The tech finally got to my house and fixed the problem. ( lightning ) The jobs that I have worked in the past, "the customer is right"! With this company the customer doesn't matter. You are a number!
