    Safelink Internet Services

    Safelink Internet Services

    (12 reviews)

For this updated review, I'm just going to give the bullet points. I've hit the point where I've…read morelost my patience. 1) Quality of Services is seriously lacking or non-existent. When you spend the majority of the last 10 months with internet speeds dropping so low that you cant even download a 15MB file in a reasonable amount of time, you know you've got issues. 2) Professionalism is non-existent. Professionalism is not only about how employees respond to their customers, it is also about how your team conducts business. Frequently notifying your customers minutes in advance of a "scheduled" outage is not how you do it. That's poor management. Extremely poor management. So poor, in fact, that as a hiring manager, if I saw you were a manager at Safelink on your resume, it would be an automatic no go for me. 3) Poor Value. When you pay $100/ month for 20Mbps services that you only get a fraction of the time, that's poor value. I've all but exhausted my patience with this ISP. I'm one more last minute "scheduled" maintenance away from going to their competitors. An ISP should be more aware of their surroundings and start working like a professional organization. A professional organization schedules outages around low utilization hours and recognizes the state of events regionally, nationally and globally. By that, I mean that there are a lot of us who are working from home. Having some basic situational awareness would go a long way. It's almost like you forget that you're providing services to customers that pay quite a bit more for internet services that most mainstream ISPs charge their customers. Get your act together, Safelink.

Worst ISP I have had to ever deal with, have had problems constantly for over a year, between the…read morenetwork outages and then the issues with connectivity and maintaining speeds, everything about Safelink has been a complete joke. In one year I have had my antenna moved at least once after finding out (after 3 months of troubleshooting and constantly having to call) my antenna on my roof wasn't even remotely pointing at the tower providing services. Then deal with constant slow speeds and packet loss over my network all while having tier 1&2 Techs try to pawn the issues off on me, or any of my 3 computers. Been through 6 routers now, FINALLY got fed up and contacted Cable One, they will be running a cable feed for my block to provide services, cannot wait to be able to tell these people to take their garbage and get it out of my house. Needless to say DON'T go with them unless they are your only choice, I was paying out $105/mo (Military Discount) for 20mbps Down and 4Mbps Up, saw those speeds for maybe a total of a month intermittently, otherwise I was lucky to see half those speeds with 150-300 Ping on servers. With Cable One I'm getting 200Mbps Down and 20Mbps Up for $115/mo with no discount. So on top of cruddy service and support I'm also paying out the hind end to be nothing but frustrated and talking to tech support to the point I could tell you their names. No thanks. Never again Safelink! *UPDATE 10/26/2020* dropped.my services, techs were far from courteous or willing to resolve issues and kept blaming me, I was an ADSL/SDSL Service Tech for 8 years, I worked for Covad Internet and also worked doing Point-to-Point networks just like what is being provided by Safelink, I know when I have garbage service and when I do not. Since moving to Sparklight I have since used the same equipment I was using on Safelink on their network with the advertised speeds of which were sold to me, no changes made other than the ISP. Safelink is a straight joke, would never go with their services again.

Anthem Broadband - Fast Internet Speeds! Up to 25GBs!!

    Anthem Broadband

Highly recommend Anthem Broadband of NV! If they serve your address, do yourself a favor and order…read moreit. Great prices matched with great service. As a broadband obsessed individual, I know fiber optic internet is the gold standard for internet connectivity. Unfortunately, it's not available in all locations. Having grown up in the Elko region, Frontier's DSL was the best option for many years. I applaud Anthem for investing in the region. I now live in Las Vegas, but assisted my parents in Elko with acquisition of the service. Originally there was a waitlist for service installation, but to my surprise in June 2024, they reached out to add us to their installation schedule. Installation is free, the service was set up successfully and on time, and has been working great since. The installers also worked well with my parents who are not the most tech savvy. Strong, symmetric internet speeds, super low latency, and maybe one or two outages in over a year of service. The outages never lasted more than a couple hours and their 24/7 hotline conveniently advised they were aware of the outage and a repair was in progress. This is miles better than my larger ISP in metro Las Vegas with frequent outages, frustrating customer service, and ridiculous prices. I give this company 5/5, but I do have some items of constructive criticism: 1. I purchased my parents a Mesh WiFi router system to expand their WiFi network across their larger property. Cell service is minimal on the outskirts of Elko, so this is to help their cell phone connectivity when they're outside working. I logged into the interface of the furnished Calix ONT/router, but could not find an option to place the device into bridge or IP passthrough mode (tech savvy persons will understand why I feel this is necessary, but the system still works without it otherwise). I called on two separate occasions and both tech agents advised this device does not offer this option. I found this hard to believe and attribute it to employee understanding, but they offered the option to switch out the device for one that does have this feature. Unfortunately, they had no available slots for a tech to do this while I was in town and I didn't want to pin this appointment on my parents. I was hoping they could simply edit the device permissions or I could visit the local office and exchange the device, but this wasn't possible. I'll need to schedule this tech visit next time I'm in town. 2. On the day I was to leave Elko, there was a large rainstorm and service went down. I used the automated hotline to see if the outage had been reported, and the recording advised all systems were active. I then called back to report the outage, but no one was answering. I held for a long time and eventually their voicemail system indicated the mailbox was full and disconnected. It was at this time the service returned and no callback was required. Nevertheless, I'd encourage them to at least clear their mailbox, if not increase phone staffing. 3. While in Elko, I saw their digital billboard with an obvious typo error or two. I'd correct this if I were them as it could give off an impression of incompetence; which has not been my experience. Perhaps a proof should be approved with leadership going forward? Bottom line - if Anthem offers any of their services to your home - hire them. They're truly the gold standard of internet in the region. They offer great prices, great new customer promotions, and all with no contracts. If I could hire them in Las Vegas, I would!

When I attempt to get to the root of a problem, there excuse if always "human error" and we are in the middle of training new people. Their customer service is horrible with representatives very flippant when speaking with customers and unable to help without pushing the problem up to a supervisor. I cannot wait until another company comes my way. I will make the switch the first day available.
