For the last 2 months I have been going to Sparkle On You, today I went in with a design that I not only showed a photo of, but also the video oh how it was created. When finished it looked NOTHING like what I asked for and was charged $130.00 (I even brought my own nail jewlery ). Upon telling them that I was unsatisfied, all I received was attitude & was told to respect her work. VERY RUSHED!! I been to another nail salon on avenue U but wanted to try a new one so came here, but this one felt super rushy. I got there around 9:30ish am on a Saturday morning with my friend. A lady took me and started on my gel manicure, they gave me a selection of tips with differ polish on it and told me to choose. I didnt even feel like I have time to rly think about what color I wanted, they just wanted to start on my nails already. Also I was not able to try the polish on my nails to see if it matches my skin tone. I just went with a shade of pink i thought was suitable, the lady started and filed down my nails, didnt even ask if i want to cut it short. Also she filed it uneven and cut SO much of my cuticles. Never asked for my opinion this whole time. And bam shes done and apparently she doesnt do toes, so I had another lady take me so that means I had to tip 2x!! The toe lady was bad, she painted outside my nails a few times, she finished so quick. My whole gel mani and pedi was like not even 30 minutes long and i paid $50 for both!!! Moving onto my friends experience. She had the dude that sits on the right do her nails. The dude was SUPER RUSHY, its like he wanted to move onto another customer so he can make more tips. My friend had to start with her pedicure first and she finished before my nails were even done. She didnt even have time to decide on her color cause the dude was rushing her and seemed impatient. After she finished her toes, she went to do her nails and was done faster than me doing my toes. Her nails were filed down and it was not filed properly because the tip of her nails werent smooth and the dude said thats how its supposed to be. Also she noticed a few bubbles on her nails when she left the place but never went back cause they seemed annoyed. Overall, i wouldnt go back to this place. I paid for pampering and thats not what i got, it was just a rushy experience as they have lots of customers and want you out of that place quick. There are so many nail salons near me but none can compare to this spot. It's about a 10 min bus ride here but it's worth the small commute. They always do my nails super quick and they look great each time. It's also super cheap. It costs $20 for a gel color manicure. They really take care of you and make sure that they do the best job possible. When I was looking for a specific color, the nail lady did her best to accommodate to what I wanted and they came out exactly how I wanted them to. I've been to other nail salons that just give me the color that's most convenient for them. I generally have small nail bed so it can be a little difficult to pain them, but here they didn't miss a single spot. This nail salon is now my go-to for nails. They truly won't disappoint. My friend recommended I try out this salon, so we made plans to come on a Sunday afternoon. We both had Stacy do our SNS, which was $30. She was really precise with every detail and did a good job at shaping my natural nails to coffin shape. I had originally asked for a dark grey color, with 2 accent nails, one glitter and one chrome. As she started working and dipping, we noticed the dark grey was lightening up and it started to look like a french design, with dark grey at the end and a light grey ish, pink base. It was super weird and unexpected, but it was definitely too late to start over with a different, lighter shade of grey. Stacy felt really bad because it wasn't her fault- the color effect wasn't labeled in the book of colors and it wasn't obviously stated on the jar of powder either. We ended up opting with just a classic black color, which was fine. Stacy was extremely patient with the both of us, being that she worked on my friend and I for about 3 hours. The quality of your nails depends on who does your nails at the end of the day; I only go to Stacy who's been working there for over ten years. When Stacy is busy, I go to Cindy because she's good at shaping pointy nails. I pay around $45 for eye brows, gel manicure and a pedicure (that's with tips). I think that's a great price! I've been going to sparkle for a few years now. Monday- Wednesday you can get a mani pedi for $18. Otherwise it's $20. Staff are usually friendly. But most reviews are accurate about the polishes being old. They have lots of polishes but they get that old oily ring at the top from not being used or they are super thick and then they add thinner to it. I can't tell you about acrylic or gel or anything elaborate cause I am a pretty regular mani and pedi person. I really liked my last one and haven't had a bad experience in the past. My mom only goes to Erica and swears by her but I think because she has been so loyal Erica Makes sure to treat her right. I had bad waxes by some workers which made me stop getting waxes done here, I stopped with my nails because they rush, and honestly my nail time is my time I don't want to be rushed. They are quick, and maybe they don't take the time to fuss over you and give you a head, neck and back massage, but if you've been going for a while, they treat you well. Once I had a manicure from here last 10 days (on average they last more like 4 or 5, but I certainly don't have princess hands, I use them to cook, clean, kickbox, etc.) Erica the owner is a sweet-heart. If I can give 0 stars I would. First of all if you decide to to come here bring your own nail polish. Their colors are old and dried out and charge you e tea money if it's a brand name polish. I do not think their tools are clean either so bring your own as well. I sat here for maybe 10 minutes and they finished my manicure. I never been so disappointed with the outcome in so long. It was really messy I had to ask them to clean each nail otherwise they wouldn't. The color was dried out so I needed like 4 coats of the polish because when I asked to change the color she didn't want too seemed like she was lazy. Must have been a new worker, because after she proceeded to cut my toe nails, which I requested be filed, she put my foot into the bath without testing it...the water was extremely hot and when I quickly removed my left foot, it she looked at me like i was crazy.
