I got gel French on sns. Not even a week went by and the gel started peeling off and chipping. The nails were lumpy. My cuticles were flooded with gel top coat. Usually sns lasts me 3 weeks before starting to lift but mine started to lift a week after and was catching in my hair. read more

And she was lovely Took her time to shape every nail and make sure the design was the one I like. Picked out the color for me as well. Great nail salon in south Brooklyn. Went here for my bridal nails & pedicure. They are all so nice, it's a quiet and comfortable spot. Peaceful music playing. The nail tech was incredible. Detail oriented artistry! I did French gel manicure. Called them very last minute the night before wedding, for an early morning appointment. I came here before to get my nails done for my birthday. I gave them a design and had it done in gel and I loved it. I recently came back to get my nails done in dip powder as my go-to salon was booked. The lady on the phone did tell me they charge $5 extra to remove nails that were not done by them. Okay, fine that's acceptable. I asked the lady that did my nail to keep it almond shape but these nails turned out to be more round which I didn't bother saying anything as nails grow back. But, it's been 4 days since my nails were done and they are all cracked underneath the top coat. One nail was chipped & one already started peeling/lifting. Safe to say I won't be coming back. I do dip powder on my nails every time and I've never had them cracked like this. Not worth paying $50+. read more

I went for a mani pedi and i again really enjoyed how detail oriented they are. I think I'm really particular about my nail shape and like them as even as possible and my nail technician was so detail oriented. Again, you can ask them for a quote via Instagram then you'll have to call them to make an appointment. Both process is super easy to do and i actually upgraded from a regular manicure to a gel manicure at the salon bc i got nervous I'd chip my nails and they accommodated me and was hassle free. My gel manicure & regular pedicure came out to be $70 (with tip). Highly recommend this place as they're the sweetest in temperament and very detail oriented. read more

I hardly ever write reviews but from a nail newbie this place blew me away and set very high expectations. I've been here twice for UV gel nails and pedicure and they're very profession and clean. Appointment only! So they do not rush and make mistakes and spend a lot of time to make sure everything is perfect. Annie is AMAZING. She's very nice and very skillful. Mint is amazingly accommodating but I've tried two other staff there and they've all been really good with solid colored gel manicures and regular pedicures. Very good job at cleaning, shaping your nails, even the part I hate most - cuticles. I usually always tell my past nail salons to avoid my cuticles in case they make me bleed but this is now the only salon I trust. I'm not sure how they are with more complicated designs yet but I'll be sure to try to next time. Two additional perks: - They add moisturizing oil treatment to the back of your feet if you do a pedicure so that it soaks. - And a several minute shoulder massage after my gel manicure that you might fall asleep to if you've had a long work week. read more

I used to be a regular at a nail salon a few blocks up, but Tropical Leaf has been on my list for awhile now. I don't think I'd ever go back to the one I used to go to. Tropical Leaf takes safety and hygiene protocol seriously. Appointments are required and they space you out once you get in, unless you are coming with someone. The aesthetics bring me back to the the tropical jungle and summer vibes. It is clean and modern inside. The ladies offered water and also gifts for Lunar New Year. Writing this review as my toes are drying~ I had a lovely time at Tropical Leaf today. I made an appointment earlier during the day because they are currently ONLY taking appointments (NO WALK-INs). The manicurist who took care of me was MINT, and she is such a doll! She was super attentive and sanitized everything. I was given a bottle of water and the massage chair was turned on. My pedicure was $23 (+$5 tip) and you get what you pay for. My feet and legs were exfoliated, lotioned and they even put a oil treatment on my heels. Furthermore, while my toes were drying I got a quick massage that really relaxed and loosened me up! I had a great time here and will likely make this a monthly thing. The workers here speak English, Mandarin and some Cantonese. read more

I WANTED to give this place a great review. The people there are very kind and accommodating, my nails also looked great when I left. But now I question their cleaning and sterilizing practices. I went there recently for the second time time and had SNS done. Both times they started peeling off/getting caught on everything in LESS than a week. Whatever, it happens. What really angers me right now though is I know have a fungal infection on one of my nails (that I know of). I saw it getting darker under one of my SNS done nails and I took the SNS off and my nail is all yellow and green underneath. It's disgusting. I've had SNS done at another salon in the area for YEARS and not once had this problem. Ever. The only problem is my old salon is always swamped after 4pm and the wait is seemingly forever. Never coming to this place again...I'll suck it up and wait at my old salon. read more

One of my 2 favorite nail places in the neighborhood. They do tend to be busy, so you have to schedule an appointment. They are however very good about letting you know if they are running late, by getting in touch ahead of time to let you know to come in later or if they have are running ahead of schedule or get a cancellation to ask to come in earlier. Girls who work there are very nice! I typically get a gel manicure and most of the time my nails look perfect. I get compliments at work on how my nails look all the time and asking what salon I go to. Good prices. It's very pretty inside too and they do fun drawings and little gifts especially around the holidays. In addition they have a stamp(signature) card system, so for every 10 visits, you either get a free mani or $5 off your service. Plus they do quick neck massages at the end which is very nice. Would recommend to everyone, unfortunately most people I know live in Manhattan, making this place a far commute, but would definitely recommend to people living in the area. read more

Robbin and Mint both are very helpful with giving advice with helping me choose a color and always providing great customer service. All the workers are super friendly and accommodating as well. I'm obsessed with how my nails always turn out after coming here. They even give a small massage session while you wait for your nails to dry! Best feeling ever! I came here last minute without a appointment and Robbin sat me down and gave me a bottle of water. He was asking what color I want and I didn't know, and he started to do my nails and keep telling me no need to rush about the colors. I finally decided my colors when it was time to paint them, my nails came out nice and beautifully. Found my new pedicure spot right next to my job. Two salons have failed here and now tropical leaf has taken over. They renovated the inside and made it into a cute tropical leaf theme (hence their name). They don't have Essie or opi polish but they use zoya which is also good. The massage chair for their pedicures are super relaxing. They use tub liners so you don't feel like you're dipping your feet into the previous persons filth. The lady "Mint" knew exactly how to cut my ingrown toe nail to not make it hurt. Polish was painted neatly. They even have other services like full body massage and facials or even spa pedicures, can't wait to try those! Overall so far so good on my first visit! read more

After reading the reviews I had high expectations for this place so I made an appointment for the next day @4:30 An hour before my appointment time they called and said that they couldn't finish the other customers in time so they asked if I could come in at 5 which I was fine with Also, side note if you want to get acrylics done, its only available wed-sun I got there exactly at five the lady told me to choose a color and I took my time because I was getting 5 colors but despite that, I still had to wait They seated me down and gave me a mini water bottle I ended up waiting for 30+ mins I wanted flower designs but the lady was like she didn't have confidence she could do it with regular polish and she would only be able to do it with gel but I was confused because I have done similar designs from other places and they never denied me and I don't understand what the difference between gel n reg is for designs Anyways I sat there for 1 hr 40mins prob to get the whole thing done which I would consider kinda slow because other places I have been to do it much faster But anyways she did do the shape to my liking because I asked for squoval and she confirmed with me several times that I liked the shape Then the french tips were fine but the flowers she drew for me were a bit messed up but she didn't bother fixing it I didn't want to cause a scene or anything, so I didn't say much they were also quite busy at that time and it was late there were only 2 people working my lady which mainly does acrylics and there's another lady that does pedicures and manicures if you come here, there is definitely a wait time also, they don't sanitize after each customer read more
