Spare time is a nice little setup and easy enough to find. There's plenty of parking spots in front and around the building. The parking lot is a bit rough in some spots, but still expensive. You walk in through automatic doors and immediately see the restaurant, which is a very nice setup and looks to have comfortable seating. Facing the restaurant: to the right is VIP, to the left are the public bowling lanes, the restroom, and finally the arcade section is the furthest section of the entertainment center. Our visit today was focused in the arcade. A nice rainy day activity to busy the kids. Plenty of games both virtual and live action to keep the self occupied. Something different about this space is that the games are based in dollars versus the typical points systems that a lot of arcades are based on. $50 went pretty fast after some virtual reality and video racing games. While spending a long girls weekend in Chattanooga, we decided to go bowling on a rainy/cold day. We chose the "bundle" that included bowling, laser tag, and $5 for the arcade. The bundle does not include the shoe rental, which honestly seemed a little steep at $6 per pair. The staff were all friendly, fun and professional. The venue was very clean and most things seemed to be in working order. There were a handful of games in the arcade that weren't working properly. Honestly, I think our favorite part was the laser tag and then air hockey! We would definitely go back. read more

I took my family from out of town here for a fun night and it was a great experience, my nephews (both under 10) had a blast with bowling, laser tag and arcade games! Special shout out to Isaiah working the front register - from the moment we walked in he had a smile on his face! We came here on a Sunday night for there 2 hour bowling staring at 9. It was a small wait and pretty busy here for a Sunday night . Sucks we couldn't get 2 lanes for 6 of us. We probably had an hour and a half to bowl till closing which was at 11 we got 2 games in. It was fun and I liked how high tech the screens was where we could add our pictures to it. On our trip this weekend, we had a rainy day where we needed to find inside stuff to do, and this place had a good rating, so we headed over. The area seems a little bit sketch, but we didn't let that deter us. It was a little odd that there were two cop cars parked literally on the sidewalk right at the entrance and they were positioned at a desk right when you walk in. We have been to places like this where we live, so when we came in, we went ahead and loaded our two cards with $50 on each card because my husband and I like to play while the other stays with our six year old. We didn't participate in bowling this time, though that area looked really nice. Once we got to the game area, however, it was super lackluster. There are not that many games to choose from to begin with, and a TON of them were Out of Order. Some of them were marked Out of Order, and others just took our money and then didn't work. Also, the games don't have much variety-there are multiple machines of the same style rather than having a lot of options. We all three got bored fairly shortly after arriving to the point where even my son asked if we could leave, and we had to actually go and try to spend all of the money on our cards just so we could go cash in our tickets and get prizes. The area where you go to get tickets didn't have many options to choose from, and the bubble gun that we did choose as one of our prizes had been on the shelf so long that the bubble liquid was almost all gone and the gun itself didn't work. None of the staff members even spoke to us (even the ones in the ticket area were rude). One of the guys who was in the ticket area watched my husband try to cash in our tickets on a machine directly in front of the counter that was not meant for that, and then he asked my husband if he was trying to check the ticket amount. I don't get why he watched him do it the entire time and then told him he was doing it wrong after he had gone through the process unsuccessfully. We didn't have a very high bar set for this place because we were just looking for a place we could go that was inside and would entertain our kiddo, but in the future, we won't return to this place. read more

Tonight was my senior prom night. My grandma had called and made a reservation two days prior. They told us that we could save two lanes. Upon arrival, a front desk employee Melissa immediately showed that she did not take me seriously and had no care for what I had to say or about my reservation. She even had no shame in mentioning us going to Hixson, which would have been no problem but is quite disappointing considering the circumstances and time limits we were under. She showed very poor character and bad customer service. While I love bowling, I do not recommend going to this location especially under the occasion in which this unpleasant employee is working. She should be reviewed as soon as possible. I would like to mention that we made it clear that we were a group of teenagers, including minors and adults. They did not warn us about their "policy" regarding only allowing 18 and older. Although I noticed quite the number of children, teenagers, and adults. So clearly they were only concerned with our group, which did not partake in any reckless behavior in or outside of their building. read more

Spare time was a blast. We came on a Thursday and played two games! I believe Thursday's is the day the bowling leagues come out to play but it still wasn't crowded at all! We played in the VIP section and there was no one else over there. We ordered appetizers and danced to the music while bowling. After our two games we headed to the gaming area were we played laser tag! It was just 3 of us at the time but the employee put us to play as a team so at the completion of our game, we came out to see who had won and it couldn't give us that info because she put it in wrong! My friends & I rented the Private VIP Suite for a birthday party. From the event planner, bartenders, to our server Layla all did such a fantastic job, there were minimal tasks for us to do to set up and keep things flowing throughout the night. From those that had food, they all said tbe food was great, the kids had an endless amount of arcade games and the staff was so very helpful and kind. Everyone that was at the birthday party, commented on how much they enjoyed the party and how nice the place looked. Apparently, this place was renovated recently, it still has that new look to it. I am not sure if this happens only on Saturday's but be prepared to be carded at the door but officers. Overall, we had a spectacular tonight. The birthday girl had a wonderful time and everyone one was pleased. So thank you all for making it such a flawless evening for all of us ... First time here. I was with a charity motorcycle ride when the Bull Riders were in town and the charity ride was sponsored by Crockett (Indian dealership) off Hwy 153. I was impressed. We were in the VIP area which is to the right when you walk in and there was bowling, a separate bar, food and live music. When you walk in, you can't mistake the sound of bowlers but it is much more than that. They have a nice restaurant/bar area and I had the large appetizer, which was not cheap, but it was good ($21 I think). They do have mixed drinks and draft beer (+1). The beers are a little expensive but very large. No real craft beers. They had Sweetwater 420 and Bud/Bud light on draft. They also have a large game room, which I did not get the chance to investigate, nor did I get to check out the laser tag. Apparently a few million dollars went in to upgrading this from a standard old bowling alley to quit an impressive place for the whole family. The place was clean, modern and the bowling lanes had huge screens above the pins so show how well you did and of course auto score keeping (I miss the old paper and pen approach but I am getting old LOL). Bottom line? This is NOT your parents bowling alley! It is definitely a 21st century experience. I have to give it a 5 and will need to go back and check out the game room and laser tag. read more

The moment we walked in, we were greeted by Patrick who quickly got us signed in, passed out shoes, and set up in the VIP area. At first glance, it was apparent that this place was well managed and taken care of. It is the perfect place for company and family events! Patrick single-handedly took care of our every need. The renovation was really well-done, and this place is nice--especially for a bowling alley! The arcade is a pretty good size and the games are all in decent shape, and I love that they have switched to a card system instead of giving out tickets/tokens. We went on a Saturday night so it was crazy-busy, and we were put in the VIP room since it was the only open lane. The balls in there resemble pool balls, which is pretty fun. Bar service was fast considering how many people were in there, and the beer was affordable. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was that you had to pay by the hour instead of the game because it was after 6 p.m. We only wanted to bowl two games, but we had to pay for two hours because the lane next to us also wanted to use the lower-weight balls that my nephew and I were using (hey I'm a wimp), so we had to wait longer to be able to have a ball we could use to bowl our frames. We ended up paying $75 to bowl two games, which is pretty expensive. If we'd paid by the person we would have paid about $40. Also, their website states that their hourly pricing on Friday and Saturday nights is $32/hour, but we were charged $35. Not sure if we got ripped off or if they changed their prices, but nobody there seemed to know either. read more

We went on a weekday early in the afternoon and had the place to ourselves. The alley is clean and easy to navigate. We ended up having lanes in the VIP lounge, which was nice because it's off to the side and away from the hustle and bustle of everything else. The remodel is amazing! I went there a few times in college and it's hard to believe the place ever looked like it did back then. It's much nicer than the other alleys around town. I am docking points for the following: We were forced to pay by the hour rather than by the game. I would have liked the option. We initially asked for 2 hours and when our game timed out at 1 hour we realized the second hour hadn't been added (but noted we should have noticed that when we paid too). I initially went to the bar to order food for our lane. I stood at the bar for several minutes without being acknowledged. Finally, I spoke loudly enough to someone who walked out of the kitchen and she informed me that the waiter would get our orders at the lane. Service was slow. We didn't get all of our drink orders until the end of our first hour (we ordered probably 15 minutes into the hour). It took so long each time I thought she may have completely forgotten our orders. We ordered extra food/drinks as we went along but while the server was nice i got the impression they may be understaffed? She seemed to be doing all the food prep on top of service. We tipped well with this in mind. If you visit a Spare Time, note that they do not serve pitchers at the lanes. Kind of a bummer. Our bowling balls got stuck several times at at one point almost every ball in the bank was stuck somewhere and wouldn't return. We hit the service button to no avail. We walked to the desk and informed a couple of staff and nothing seemed to happen. We lost several minutes of time due to this malfunction. We finally were able to get help and to their credit, we did get some time back on the board. While I gave this a 3/5 I'm hoping the issues reflected possible understaffing. I will return at some point to see if things improve. read more

Had all my money stolen out of my wallet because of their trash security. Police reports have been written up and corporate called. Would be better off going somewhere else or playing wii bowling. But if you do choose to risk it all here, keep your belongings with you despite what they say is a "safe place." Sad. My first time here. We went rather early for a Friday and you pay $31 for an hour of bowling the $4.50 per shoe rental. They have different deals everyday and great deals for later hours at night. There is a VIP room for use (I had kids so we didn't go in there). The lanes are very nice, they have a lot of kids balls and ramps for the kids to bowl. The menu was great, we ordered some pizzas and beers, it was fun! After bowling we let the kids play in the arcade and it had new rides and games and was very well done. This place is SO much nicer after the remodel. It used to be a trashy holiday bowl that had not been updated in years. I cannot wait to go back with my friends and check out the VIP room. I just had a party here for my mother's 90th birthday. They were wonderful! We reserved the VIP Suite and it could not have been better! The room was private with free bowling included. Food was good and ample for the 45+ guests who attended. Everyone who came was impressed with the level of service and the comfortable atmosphere. The laser tag, the game room, and the bowling are all loads of fun. It new and modern I love the atmosphere the neat lights and decor.

My friends and I came here to play laser tag and $300 cash was stolen from our wallets because of the poor security at this place. We were told to leave our wallets, phones, and keys on a shelf in the laser tag room. These were left 100% unattended while we played. We were not informed that our things would be left unattended. The door to the room was not locked while we played. Anyone in the facility had complete privacy to come in and take whatever they wanted--and they did. Upon discovering the money was taken, we immediately informed the staff. There was an extreme lack of concern among the staff for our situation. They said they would "try their best" and review the tapes, but they have little to no surveillance in the actual arcade itself. They disappeared for at least twenty minutes without communicating anything with us at all. After 30 minutes of this horrible service, we called the police. Finally, the worker came and told us everything would have to be investigated before action could be taken, and would not call her GM until she "had all the facts." We had an eyewitness go in and review the footage with her and found the girls that stole the money. These girls were previous employees and had been BANNED from the facility. How were they able to come into a building they were banned from without being identified by the staff? I am completely disappointed and enraged by the way this whole situation was handled. If you do go here, keep your wallets and personal belongings close by because the staff does not care. read more

The facility of this building is vary nice. But the real down fall of it is the food. The pizza can't decide if it is pizza or spaghetti.

Use to really enjoy coming to this bowling alley until today. Spare time did remodel their facility and made it nicer than before, however it has changed its rules and "dress code". Apparently no one is allowed to wear beanies now? I'm a 5'3 female and had a really nice beanie on that was designed with a hole at the top for a messy bun. Did not have a brush and they asked me to take the beanie off due to people smuggling in alcohol through their hats?! Because that makes a ton of sense right? Lol. Anyways, as I looked around there were multiple people that had on hair covers for their weave protection or religious purposes. This is very dumb and I did not stay because of this. Sure, I could have just taken the beanie off my head, but after spending much time on a messy bun and not having a brush it was very inconvenient and no other place in my entire life has ever forced me to take off a hat. If someone was wanting to smuggle in alcohol or drugs, start checking bags, purses, pockets, and shoes. I will not be back. Pin Strikes is cheaper and is more family friendly anyways. read more
