I had a PCA chemical peel here. The lobby is super clean, the service was quick and effective. I'm giving them two stars because I was pushed into making a purchase for a product that is completely wrong for me. After telling me my skin would be more sensitive to pigmentation after the peel and I absolutely needed to buy a sunscreen, my technician pulled something off the product wall and handed it to me, claiming it would be perfect. Now, I care a lot about my skin. When someone mentions things like pigmentation, I listen. She seemed confident in the product and walked away within seconds of handing it to me. I had questions about it but I had no opportunity to ask as she left me at the desk to pay for my service and product she was hyping up. Unfortunately it's a tinted product and is orange on my super pale skin. It's also incredibly greasy. I felt really duped by the technician for just picking something at random, probably to get a commission percentage, rather than making an informed recommendation. If she really knew the products why would she recommend something that has no benefit to me? SpaDerma doesn't accept returns, and will only issue store credit. So I'd have to travel an hour each way to the West Loop just to maybe get something suitable for my skin that they carry. The whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth- I didn't feel like I was actually being recommended something for me and was just being swindled into making a purchase. Now I'm stuck with an orange sunscreen that I will never touch. Meh. read more

I really liked my experience at SpaDerma every time I went for several treatments. There are very nice front desk staff and technicians and I always felt welcome. I love that they carry PCA and Skinceuticals and left everytime with products I love. I bought a PCA moisturizer that I used for a few weeks and realized I was having a bad reaction to. I brought it back and exchanged for another product in a different line with no questions - SO nice! Katie was so perfect, I've never had an injector make me feel so comfortable - Book with her immediately. 2 improvements: - It is so annoying when they only take tips in cash, and I have none on me and have to come back or feel rude. I wish they took venmo or credit cards! In the meantime, make sure you bring cash! - I also felt a few times with certain techs that they were very "up-sell-y" which I did not like. I want you to recommend products because they would benefit me and fix my issues, not just because you want to sell stuff. But sometimes a girl wants more--and Anna is there for that, too. I went in for the hydra facial. I was really excited about trying this type of facial. When I booked the appointment I discussed different options that could be added on. I asked if we needed to book a longer appointment because I was really sold on the upgrades. I was told that they allow time for customers to upgrade and it was not an issue. I arrived and was seen by Nicki who informed me right away that I could only do the 30 minute facial. I questioned this and she said they didn't even have the correct name for me??? It was an appointment for another name. She then proceeded to tell me that the add ons are not going to do anything more and it's a waist of money. (I am paraphrasing) "I just want to be honest" was what she did say several times. That said, she did do a nice job with the hydra but it felt very rushed. Lots of options on Madison so I'll try another place next time and hope for a better fit read more

I secretly do not want to leave this review as I don't want this location to lose its greatness. The staff is amazing, the quality of their services for Botox is by far the best I've experienced in the 13 years I've been getting Botox done. I've gone to four places in the past 13 years, I'm usually a devoted individual. So when I find a place that does an excellent job and doesn't break the bank, I stay. The place I was going to prior to this continued to raise prices but I felt my Botox wasn't lasting, or even fully working. I thought it was due to aging and it was time to increase my units. SpaDerma changed that for me. Their staff does so well, I found I didn't need to increase my units, I just needed to find a place that didn't over dilute the Botox and performed proper injecting techniques again. I am beyond thankful for my boss that recommended I come to Spaderma! I had first worried about early wrinkles I was getting. When I called to make my appointment to get botox I was set up with Maria. Maria asked what kind of results I wanted to achieve. I told her about my few wrinkles on my forehead and that I didnt like them. On my first visit i received 20units of botox to my forehead and was amazed with the results with improving the look of my wrinkles! After my second visit I asked the staff to help me with finding a product/service to get rid of my acne scaring, and rosacea. I was introduced to Michelle- she suggested I get PCA chemical peels and also showed me products that would help out my issues. Fast forward 7 months later Getting a chemical peel once a month and also using the products Michelle recommended I have not had a single pimple in 5 months, my skin tone is even, rosacea is under control, pores are small and clean, and my skin is sooo smooth! Michelle has always made sure that no matter how many layers we take off the product goes into my skin properly and that my skin is also reacting correctly to it. I have never had a bad experience with Michelle and I trust her completely! I dont have to wear any foundation/cover up anymore. I just use eyeliner, mascara, and blush super fast and simple! For the past 6 months I have been asking Maria about lip filler and botox 'lip flip' and that I wasnt ready to pull the trigger on getting full on lip filler. I wanted to have fuller lips and a less gummy smile- so we did 4 units of botox to my upper lip to achieve the look of a less gummy smile and a fuller upper lip... loved the results and did that two times! But for a birthday gift to myself I wanted to treat myself to lip filler to finally achieve the look I wanted! What really sets Maria above the bar is how she uses the product on you. When I came in to get my lip filler We dicussed using a full syringe to get the results I wanted to achieve- but on that visit my lips werent able to take the full syrige in one appointment. So Maria told me I will have to come back in a month to put the last 3/4 of the syringe in. I am so thankful for her seeing what was needed. Some places would of just put the full syringe in and sent me on my way with very swollen, and over filled lips. Ive always trusted Maria- what she did the last 2 visits really makes me beyond happy and thankful because she knew when to stop because my lips needed it. All in all Michelle and Maria have been wonderful to work with and I am always raving about how much they have helped boost my confidence, I dont have to hide my skin under layers of makeup. Ive had two lovely fast laser hair removals here on my sideburns that literally last 3 minutes. Today On a day when there are 20" of snow, a pandemic and many businesses closed I arrived exactly 5 minutes late for my 2:15 appointment (zero parking) and the manager told me I'd have to reschedule. I also showered, shaved, got my car out and drove from Lakeview. According to her the equipment needed 10 minutes to be set up for the next aesthetician. Like a dog I tilted my head. So you're telling me I have a 15 min appointment, it takes 10 minutes to set up the equipment and you have another "patient " (lol) at 2:30?! Yes she said. I tried to explain that either their policy of scheduling was insane or she was really bad at math. Then another receptionist with her mask below her nose told me to stop attacking her as a person. I'm truly pissed and this is bad business. And I'm certain they didn't ask my aesthetician though they claimed they did. Terrible. If I hadn't already paid fir this last session I'd never go back even though the aesthetician was lovely. read more

Finally finished my Groupon for 3 underarm laser hair removal sessions and although I'm a bargain shopper, I will definitely come back again and pay what I have to pay to finish my treatment. I have been a loyal underarm waxer for 9 years because shaving wasn't an option. Literally hours after shaving with expensive brand new razors I'd have the most uncomfortable stubble. I've had laser before which worked amazingly for nearly 10 years. I expected this experience to be the same, however, NOTHING is getting better, hair is still growing after 6 sessions. I'd had it done before, so 8-12 should not be needed. When I told them, they recommended I buy more, so like a gullible infant, I did. Now I'm completing those, and hair is still growing. They only provide the groupon at a low price to get you in the door, and then charge you up the a** for more sessions. read more

It's tempting to try to save money by going here, but you'll just end up spending more than you would at an aesthetic dermatologist's office, because it takes more treatments.
