I have LOVED working with Nikki for chemicals peels and with Louisa for laser hair removal on my legs. Both women are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and just all-around wonderful to work with. They've never made me feel judged for picking my skin or breaking out, and I really love chatting with them during my services... so much so that I don't want them to end!!! Nikki's treatments and on-point product recommendations have gotten my breakouts under control--something years of dermatologists, prescriptions, and "luxury" skincare never accomplished. Louisa has my legs looking great for summer, and the results have been so good that I'm considering other areas for future treatment, too. SpaDerma's prices are competitive, if not the most affordable I've seen, and they generally have some sort of special going on. You can also break up your total into a few payments. I love that most estheticians are active on Instagram, allowing me to see their work. There's metered parking in front of the office, and a few unmetered spots just around the corner if you're lucky enough to snag one. I second what someone else said about scheduling being a nightmare, so just make sure to call to confirm the day before. As for their covid precautions, I'm not comfortable that they're presently allowing procedures requiring mask removal, but look forward to resuming with Nikki once it's safe to do so. read more

I would like to preface this review with the reason why I am giving 2 stars is because of the front desk service, lack of communication/information, and the gas lighting I experienced. The actual spa/botox service I received was great. The NP was professional and I was able to get exactly what I needed done. I recently visited Spa Derma in the west loop and it was my first visit. The NP mentioned that I have to spend $150 minimum (Which was not communicated when initially booking) I ended up getting 4 botox injections which is much less than $150. The NP mentioned since I was a new patient I would get $50 off of the $150 minimum. I was also told that I could use my Alle rewards (which was convenient since I had a $20 reward available on my account). My review reflects the service I received from the front desk employee. 1. The person failed to look at my chart and see that I was a new patient and did not acknowledge the $50 off since it was my first visit. 2. I asked for the tinted Elta MD sunscreen and did not receive the correct product. (I was given the non tinted one without mention). 3. I was told by the front desk employee that I could not use my Alle rewards, despite the NP assuring me I could. 4. Shortly after I walked out of Spa Derma West Loop and returned to my car, I realized I was overcharged. I called and mentioned my complaints above. The front desk employee gas lit me by saying it was my fault I didn't mention that I was a new patient to receive the $50 off. (I believe it was apparent I was a new patient on multiple accounts, ie. filling out new paperwork, the NP acknowledging I was a new patient in front of the front desk employee, etc.) I was told I could not be refunded the money back on my credit card and instead will go on my spa derma account. 5. I've contacted and emailed Spa Derma West Loop and no response or acknowledgement of my issue. I don't really feel too great returning there and so I really dont want that money just hanging out in my account. I ask that the minimum spend, the new patient discount, grabbing the correct product and not being able to use my Alle rewards was communicated to me prior to my visit and passed on to the employees at the front desk who checked me out. I was given a gift certificate to SpaDerma from a friend. I went to this location because it's closer to my house. After my treatments I gave the receptionist the certificate and was first scolded for the certificate being over a year old and then was told they wouldn't take the certificate because it was purchased in Lincoln Park and that they had separate bank accounts and separated systems. My problem is, who cares how old my gift certificate was, there's no expiration date on it and SpaDerma has accepted the money why shouldn't I get what was paid for?! Also, different locations with different bank accounts isn't my problem, you should've found a way to make it work instead of berating me or inconveniencing me.... This wasn't my first time to this location. I had purchased a 3 visit microneedling package Xmas season of 2020/2021. I went for two visits in Feb and April 2021, spacing them as recommended. I wasn't that blown away with the results but knew I had the one left so I wanted to try out PRP next winter/spring. I made that appointment for March 28. I was informed it's an additional $$$, as I expected. I planned the week out following the appt, keeping my calendar clear to be mostly at home not having to be out and about wearing sunscreen or makeup. Also taking a break from my intense sweaty workouts so I planned out my fitness schedule too to accommodate and give my face a full chance to recover and heal to the best advantage. So now I'm at the appt and I see Stephanie who has done one of my treatments the year prior. She applied the numbing cream and then left to get the "nurse". The two enter back into the room and the girl was bubbly and nice enough with a lot of energy and excitement for my "juicy veins" as she put it. I informed her and showed her the vein in I wanted her to use. The vein I always ask to be used when I get my blood drawn. She put on a tourniquet so tight I immediately knew something was wrong. I get blood drawn properly and safely by a skilled licensed professional regularly. She waited so long to start and I couldn't feel my arm with in seconds. She went in for the FIRST poke, and since I was laying down I didn't have my eyes on it but I knew she went in the wrong vein. I said "that's not the right vein". And she made some comment about how she didn't want to BLOW the other vein. Then I said well maybe this tourniquet is too tight. I can't feel my arm. She wasn't getting any blood out. Because why? Because she missed the vein!!!! She let the tourniquet out but my arm was still numb and in pain. She said she'd have to poke again. So she tied me back up but not as tight thank goodness, and pokes me a second time, still not in the right vein I told her to go in. This time it hurt. It hurt bad. And guess what. She still wasn't getting any blood. Why? Because she missed the vein AGAIN. At this point I wanted to cry. It took all I could from shedding a tear. I had walked into SpaDerm with such excitement and optimism, having told so many friends and family about getting the PRP done. I had cleared up my calendar for weeks preparing for the recovery I had planned. And now all of this. I was traumatized. They both offered to get some other "nurse" to come in and try. I said nope. I'm done. I'm in a lot of discomfort and and I'm just done. . . I realize some people bruise from getting blood drawn but I am fully aware that this "nurse" was dreadfully unskilled and has no business sticking anyone. I have zero confidence in returning and having a safe experience. read more

Amazing experience from start to finish!! I can't believe how easy this was! I've been getting Brazilian waxes done for the last decade thinking that laser was both too expensive and would be worse than waxing. Recently, I had a particularly unpleasant waxing experience at my normal spa and decided to do some research. I found SpaDerma had wonderful reviews and a Groupon for $99 for the first 3 sessions (medium area) - TOTAL. I was a little skeptical thinking that was too cheap to be true. I emailed the team via Yelp, they got back to me right away, addressed all my fears, answered questions I had, and booked me via email - I'm usually hard to reach by phone during the day so this was perfect! The staff was so friendly, the clinic was extremely clean, and my technician, Stephanie, was the best! She made me feel comfortable, at ease, and informed. She talked me through it, and was super efficient - the treatment took maybe 5 minutes. I couldn't believe how easy this was - not painful at all compared to waxing, you can shave in between appointments, and they even have a July deal going on for $199 for the second set of my treatments (medium area). Honestly, this was so great - I can't wait to see the results and am considering doing other areas of my body given how unbelievably awesome my first experience with laser was! I don't have words to describe how I was fooled by this place selling me dysport for the same price as botox saying that they have the same effect. I wish I did simple google search before I came here. So 1 unit of botox is equal to 3 units of dysport. Average price of botox is 11-16$ per unit and average price of dysport is 4-8$ so you guys do the math. And they are selling dysport for 13$ per unit saying that is stronger that botox which is not true. Also dysport is used ONLY for frown lines while botox is used to reduce all wrinkles. I left happy that today until I realized that I was scammed. Never again. read more

After the first treatment i saw a substantial decrease in hair growth. I am now on my 5th treatment for my Brazilian and it's almost all gone. The first time I came to SpaDerma my experience was phenomenal. I had a very well informative esthetician (Michelle) who consulted with pre op and post op care. Today- my experience was subpar. The esthetician was nice and took me to back in a timely manner. When I initially scheduled my appointment it was for laser hair removal on 2 areas which I spoke to about with the front desk who scheduled my appointment. For some reason that did not transfer to the esthetician that was working on me today so she had to leave the room multiple times to ask questions that could have easily been communicated. She ended up having me shave an area on my face I wouldn't normally shave just to tell me that she cannot do the laser hair removal because I had self tanner on. I understood this because I have had this procedure completed in the past. However, the self tanner I use on my face is removed with a makeup wipe. It doesn't penetrate through my skin (believe me I wish it did) but it comes off very easily. I end up wiping it off and she brings in Maria. Here's why I'm giving this a 1 star. Someone like Maria should not be a representation of your brand. I have had a great experience up until Maria comes into my room and says she is the Botox and filler specialist (ok great?) and she know that I will burn because of the removable tan on my face, I then begin to tell her I wiped it off and she interrupts me and says "do you want burns on your face" completely appalled I reply "no, I doubt anyone wants burns or to be talked to like that". Maria was extremely unprofessional and lacks customer service and social skills to deal with people especially if they're having a crisis. I will no longer be recommending my friends/family to SpaDerma. read more

I was at their West Loop location on 3/16/19 and I will start by saying that Nikki did an amazing job!! She was so nice and informative. She took her time to ask me questions about my skin and explained the hydrafacial process very thoroughly. I highly recommend her. I also got my first dermaplaning and wasn't sure what to expect. The glow after she finished was mind blowing. I immediately felt my skin tighter and smoother than I had in a very long time. She also gave me great advice on my at home skincare regimen which I really appreciated. I will say that parking is very difficult, no parking. I recommend public transportation or a share riding service such as Uber or Lyft. Overall, I had a great experience and will be back to see Nikki again. read more

Stopped in for my first time and I'm so happy I did. I had a hydrafacial with Stephanie. My skin is extremely congested and pretty dry, I heard that hydrafacials help fix that. The location is clean, pretty big and plenty of street parking. The front desk is friendly and on time which I LOVE. On to the actual service, Stephanie was so sweet and explained the process thoroughly. She asked questions on my expectations, my current skincare regimen and so on. I felt extremely comfortable asking her any questions. She went through the promotions and definitely convinced me to buy a package and book my next appointment on the spot. The facial itself was great, I'm not sure it was the best option for me, though. My skin gets really congested and I felt like it was still a little congested after. BUT the glow the next day is out of this world. I recommend it if you have an event coming up. I'll be back soon to try more procedures! I honestly have nothing but good things to say about SpaDerma West Loop. The first time I went to SpaDerma, I went to redeem a PCA peel that I had purchased from Groupon. However, my skin was extremely dry and sensitive. Elyse informed me that she couldn't perform the procedure that day because she didn't want to harm my skin. She educated me, and she provided me with skin care tips to improve the current state of my skin. In the mean time, I had cheek fillers done by Stacy. Guys, this process was so easy, and Stacy did everything to make sure I was comfortable. I have a fear of needles, and Stacy ensured me that everything would be fine. I am so pleased with my results. I am already thinking about going back for a second procedure. After a few weeks, I returned for a chemical peel with Elyse at SpaDerma Westloop. Throughout the procedure, Elyse monitored my pain level. She also wrote out an ENTIRE skin care regimen for me (face wash, toner, vitamin c, H.A., etc.), I am so thankful for Elyse's extra help. DO NOT GO HERE! If I could give half a star I would from my experience because Kaitlyn was not very good. I highly recommend trying to get a different aesthetician if you go here. I got a hydrafacial and I was left with marks all on the right side of my face. She applied way too much pressure during extraction and has left me feeling horrifying two days before my birthday. Great gift.... I wish I would have started with a different aesthetician cause maybe I would have had much different results. Regardless I am extremely disappointed especially since management didn't even offer any treatment to fix the damage caused. The whole experience was very upsetting. Oh and the kicker is they recommended that I get a chemical peel (aka pay them more money) to speed up the healing process from the damage they caused. Former loyal and enthusiastic client at the Lincoln Park location. I switched over to this location because it is right around my house. I was ambivalent about switching over because I really enjoyed my experience with Violet at the LP one, but I'm happy to say that the West Loop is equally as wonderful! Michelle, my aesthetician, has been taking care of my skin for a couple of months now and has managed to keep my skin under control and free from breakouts. All my life I have been prone to acne issues but finally at the tender age of 33, I can say that I feel good about my skin. I received a HydraFacial for Mother's Day at SpaDerma and I feel so glowing and radiant, and it was such a great experience, that I feel like I have to leave a review. The location I went to is conveniently located right on Madison and Aberdeen, if you have an early appointment there will be no issues finding parking. The facility is clean and the reception is friendly. There was no wait time for my appointment. Stephanie was my esthetician and was professional and knowledgeable and I felt like she truly understood my skin's needs. I want to start by the providers are great. My issue is with staff making appointment, not being able to see appointment on their website. I have had the run around with making appointments. I had the run around with technology that I had to make a special trip to the spa to make appointment. I made appointment in person,and they still screwed it up. I have worked with fast pace customer service so I know what it is like. Provider are good but be aware of the website and front desk. Waiting for response from the manager. Unfortunately, my lips did not heal well and are still very lumpy and bumpy. I spoke to a plastic surgeon after they'd healed and they said the product was applied too superficially, which is why my lips are bumpy and you can actually see the product. People have straight-up asked about the bumps in my lips, which is not what you want. At this point, I'm going to have to get my lips dissolved and re-injected. I do want to stress that Stacy was very knowledgeable, thorough and wonderful. The staff at spa derma is great and I had great in-office visits. I wish I received the results I wanted because I definitely would have been a return customer. read more

I recently had a laser facial at SpaDerma with Nikki Nicholson and I loved it. She is so knowledgeable which made me feel at ease considering it was my first time and I was nervous . She numbed my face and I barely felt anything. What I did feel was just a light scratching sensation. Really boring to be afraid of and the results are awesome! In one treatment I saw a reduction of fine lines, wrinkles, pigment and tightness. Can't wait to go back. The spa was beautiful, clean and the staff including Nikki extremely polite.
