Normally most places will try to say yes to anyone who comes in the door to keep the service and customers. But when people walked in they told them no. I was so pleased and encouraged. Apparently when you have shellac they charge $5 extra to take it off. I had my shellac done here and this is my 2nd visit. I've been publicly chastised for not telling them when I made my appointment that I had shellac. They made a big deal about how lucky I am they have time. This will be my last visit here. read more

Note: My review is solely based on the first impression. My daughter and I decided on a whim to get pedicures. I had seen great reviews for this nail salon. When you pull up, the sign on their door clearly says "Walk Ins Welcome" however it was far from welcoming. For starters we weren't greeted within the first few minutes of our entrance. Of course everyone was busy and that's actually a good sign. When we were finally acknowledged, without even asking what we wanted the woman said "if you don't have an appointment we can't see you." That's odd. "walk ins welcome" must not mean what I think it means. We weren't even offered a wait-time or even an appointment time. This first impression was a deal breaker. I'm sure they will have many clients both existing and new but I prefer to go somewhere that has honest advertising or options if they can't honor that. read more

I read all the reviews and everyone seem to be very pleased with this place. I've gotten both mani and pedi from Sarah, and I am very pleased with her. She's very careful and she listens. I like that. I don't want to jinks myself but I want everyone to know that they took good care of me and both visits turned out well. This place is very clean and I don't think I have anything to worry about. The price seem very reasonable too. They offer several options for mani and pedi. This time I tried the paraffin which, includes foot massage and legs with warm stones. The paraffin is wax they wrapped your feet inside a plastic then, it sort of solidify for a quick few minutes then it's peeled off gently. It was very relaxing. I normally don't rate nail salons but this one was just not great at all, I paid almost $50 for a mani/pedi that was seriously lacking in quality. Again, mani/pedis are a luxury event so I feel weird posting negative reviews but I had a problem with this one. For the manicure, she didn't use any cuticle oil and cut my cuticles unevenly and while my nails are short they were still long enough to be cleaned and she didn't clean underneath them. She literally threw my hands in a bowl of really hot water, hastily filed the nails (also unevenly) and then quickly threw on the polish (which got all over my cuticles). The manicure, which was $30, took all of 15 minutes for her to do. Seriously? For $30 can you at least apply the polish correctly? It really was one of the worst manicures I've ever gotten. The pedicure was better but again, my nails are still uneven and ragged and I chose a dark color so the raggedness is really obvious. This place had amazing reviews so I was really looking forward to them but it was a huge disappointment for the money I spent. read more

I think this is a nice place. I came to get a pedicure. Upon walking in they are friendly and cheerful but only talkative if you want to talk. The pedicure is a little more massage focused. They have a basic for $22, and another for $25. For $25 you get a quick scrub, paraffin wax, hot stone massage, warm towels. I've never had a paraffin wax before. They put your feet into a bag of the hot paraffin wax and wait for the liquid to harden a bit. It felt so nice. It was so hot and the liquid was so soft and smooth feeling. By far the best part was the hot stone massage. I've been to a couple places that do this for a few seconds but here they do each leg for a few minutes. Wow it feels amazing and so relaxing. It's just fantastic. As for the pedicure, they did not rush or kick me out of the comfortable massage chair while I waited for my husband to pick me up. Most of their polish looks to be in good condition. I only wish they had scrubbed some of my rougher areas a little more. Again, more massage focuses than foot scrubbing focused. I will probably try the place again and I'll probably bring my husband here because I'm sure he will love the more massage focused treatment. read more

It was a Friday afternoon and I was dropping off something in Edmonds and heading back to Lynnwood to get ready for a Christmas party. The manicure I had done myself the night prior had gotten ruined, so I wanted to get one done by the pros. I opened up Yelp and looked for nail salons nearby. This one had good reviews (in fact, all five star) so I swung in the strip mall shared with Burger King, hoping they wouldn't be busy (luckily, they weren't!). I was welcomed warmly by the owner and another nail technician. The owner asked what I wanted and explained they were having 20% off their services that day. I said I just wanted a regular manicure, no shellac. She said that usually the spa manicure with a paraffin wax is $17 but reiterated that it would be 20% off that price. That sounded good to me, so I picked out my polish and sat down with the other woman in the salon. Sitting in the waiting area, the owner chatted with me off and on during the manicure that was overall relaxing and pain-free. I'm not quite sure what benefit the paraffin had other than it felt really good, but it was inexpensive so I didn't mind. The technician seemed to really take care in the job that she was doing. I am used to getting manicures and having them quickly put on the polish and then dig their nails into my the bed of my nail when polish starts straying -- not the case here. My nails looked absolutely perfect. At the end she said the total was $15. I gave a tip I would have for a $17 bill and even rounded up some. Merry Christmas, right? I loved my experience and left thinking I would return the next time I wanted a fresh manicure. However, in less than 24 hours, two of my nails were chipped. And not little chips, either. After 48 hours, almost all of my nails had chips in them. I know standard manicures tend to chip much quicker than shellac but I thought less than 24 hours was a little disappointing. By Sunday night I had to remove what pretty polish was left and repaint my nails myself so for that, I had to dock one star. In addition, there was a little confusion regarding the prices. According to her official price booklet, it is $17 for a manicure with paraffin and the hot towel but I didn't get the hot towel. And if it were 20% off that price...wouldn't it have been more than $2 off? I'm not usually one to pick apart things like that, and in this case the actual dollar amount doesn't matter, it's more about hearing/seeing one thing and getting another. Maybe shellac is the route to go here, or maybe my short nails were to blame for the chipping. I had such a great experience at Salon Ten20 that I want to give them another try. Hopefully my next review can be five stars instead of four! read more

After hearing multiple rave reviews I decided to take my niece and daughter here for pedicures. The employees were very nice and friendly and the place was packed. Unfortunately, I never saw them clean the bowls that people soak their feet in. Not once. They gave them a quick rinse with water and that was it. Went here based on the reviews and this place definitely deserves it's 5 stars! Got a mani-pedi by Sarah, who was very sweet and did a wonderful job! Many phone calls from customers and a bunch of walk ins, but she never rushed to get me done and move on to the next one. She took her time and even apologized that they were speaking in their native dialect, explaining they were discussing appointments. My feet have never felt better compared to prior pedi's I've had. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I went in for a manicure and I'm hard pressed to even call it a manicure. She soaked my fingers in tepid water for 30 seconds or so. Then she started trimming a few stray spots of cuticle. NO CUTICLE OIL. Then she cut my nails with a huge toenail clipper and proceeded to file them to nubs. (After I requested she leave whatever length she could) After that she used a block roughly on my nail bed. The block had particles on it from the last manicure she did. Afer that she painted my nails. That was it! As an afterthought, she put 1 squirt of cold lotion on back of my hands and rubbed it on. There was no hint of a hand or arm massage. I had gel polish put on and it's thick and ugly. All this for only $25. Don't waste your time. read more

She also took a lot of time to massage my hands and feet. I didn't feel rushed at all unlike other nail salons. Their place is little more pricier than some other nail salons that are closer to home but with the amount of service they give, it is worth it. FYI - if you pay by cash, they give you a 5% discount.
