My other half received a 90 min massage from her and it was quite helpful for the lower back tension he was feeling. There was a miscommunication with the booking and Tanya sent someone our right away to fix the error and she was very attentive of the situation. I'm not one to give poor reviews, it has to be a pretty disappointing experience for me to give…read moreless than three stars. And the only reason Windy City Massage is getting two stars instead of one is because my masseuse was very kind. I'll start by sharing that me and friends stayed at the Kimpton Gray and knew we wanted to get massages during our stay. When we arrived, the front desk staff told us that Windy City Massage was an in-house spa and when we asked how to make an appointment she said very clearly, "they aren't associated with the Kimpton Gray, you can contact them directly for an appointment and more information." We should've taken that as a sign. The website is a little sketch, you have to pay when you book so we decided to call and leave a voicemail. When they called back, we scheduled for the next morning at 8am. Since it was a massage, we were fine with the early morning. When we arrived, the room was a large event space with a reception table and chair, and a few worn chairs and coffee table. There were two massage rooms off of the larger room so we assumed that's where the massage would take place. When the masseuses came out for us, they were super kind. We asked about the free upgrade with the Yelp check in and they said the only two available were foot or scalp massage so we each chose one. To make a long review short, the massage experience was not great. The acoustics were horrible so I could hear everything happening in the waiting area while in my massage. The massage was very basic; the foot massage "upgrade" was included in the 50 minutes versus the additional 20 minutes advertised; the music was playing from a cell phone; there was no carpet so the chair that the masseuse used was loudly dragged across the floor several times. Overall it was not at all a good or relaxing experience and not worth the cost. The Kimpton should to be associated with this business.

Tierra was very professional, but also very friendly and made me feel comfortable. The 1st time with a new stylist can be a little anxious. Tierra was very intuitive about what I wanted, happy to see Pinterest examples to make sure we were talking about the same look, and she was honest about what could or could not be done with the length, texture, condition of my hair. The entire process was very easy, comfortable, and professional. I highly recommend the spa, and Tierra, and I will surely be back! Better signage would be helpful when you first step off the elevator, in order to find the spa more easily would be my only critique.

The ambiance is very chill and relaxing, and having a private room for our group was a nice touch. I'm giving 4 stars mainly because of a couple of small things. We were supposed to receive two bottles of champagne as part of our experience, but only one was brought out. We had to ask about the second one, and at first they actually refused to give it to us because it was already toward the end of the evening. I understand that we were finishing up, but we were supposed to receive both bottles as part of the experience in the first place. The other thing is that the pool and sauna are on the 8th floor, while the spa services are on the 5th floor. It's not a huge deal, but it would be much more convenient if everything were on the same floor. That said, we still had a great time and the overall atmosphere was lovely. I would definitely recommend it for a girls' day, bachelorette party, or just a relaxing spa day.

Now, I DO have severe cat allergies and found out Lupe has no pets, if it matters. Shannon, one of their massage therapists, has two. So, I could not have been around her due to my cat dander issue. The atmosphere is calming and clean. You must take off your shoes in their front area. I did and they offered me slippers but I just walked in my clean socks on a clean floor. All good. The room was wonderful. My lungs are a bit sensitive to smells, but I wore a mask and I was fine. I got the 70min lymph massage and it walked out of there lighter than I have been in a long time. My lymph systems seems to not like me very much, frustrating. She had my system flowing and going! Lupe said it normally takes her 2 passes but she had to do 3 or more to get my stuck lymphs going. She is a like the RotoRooter of the lymphatic system. LOL We talked about Lipedema and the Lymph system. She is really smart with the Lymph system. Afterwards she brought me followup care instructions, a cup of water, and a tea bag for my lymph to use tomorrow morning. The massage itself was exactly what I had hoped for and maybe a bit more. Did I have a sudden six-pack like other places show on social ads? Ummm, no. And nore did I expect it. Did my legs feel lighter, incredibly so. I will book one for next month too, once my schedule starts to form. They were NOT pushy about it either. One different place I went to did the hard sell on packages and they still text me a year later. Annoying. Thank you, Lupe! You are truly talented. See you soon.
