i got a hair cut and color recently with kwana (who has the best tennessee accent in the world! i almost had a twang of my own when my hair was done). i just got a trim because im trying to grow my hair out and get rid of the layers, but i'm happy with the way it looks. she didnt nag me to cut more than a half inch the way most people do. in fact, a few people have told me that my hair looks longer, maybe because im happy with the way it looks so i wear it down more often now. the color was what really stood out. it looks great! very blonde with an ashy type of tint for winter. kwana also gave me tips about styling and hair care, which are much appreciated. read more

Spa Sidney is a wonderful place! I have been faithfully seeing Sidney for 15+ years. As many view a facial as a treat (and, an appointment with Sidney is a treat), I have learned that having a facial every six weeks pays off. The benefits go beyond feeling good. Oh, I have been told that I look younger than I am. But having healthy skin and knowing how to care for it is most important. I have learned so much about caring for my skin from Sidney. His skills and knowledge are outstanding. He continuously seeks new products, training and equipment. Yet he is loyal to products that he believes in, such as Guinot. When I come in for an appointment and Sidney says has something that would be good for me, he is right. He takes time to know his clients and their specific needs. No 'one size fits all' at Spa Sidney. About a year ago Sidney said that he had been seeing excellent results with the Clarisonic brush. He has never recommended anything that he has not thoroughly tested. It was a bit pricy but I trusted Sidney and purchased the Clarisonic from him. He was right again, a year later, my skin has improved tremendously. Even though I get my hair cut and colored somewhere else (because I have loyalty and longevity with my hairdresser too), I love the entire staff at Spa Sidney. Everyone on Sidney's team is a delight and they too are so good to me. They have always been to my rescue when I need a quick fix up. I sincerely recommend their services to my friends. All of the services provided at Spa Sidney are amazing. Besides trusting my face to Sidney, he is an excellent masseuse. And, I would never allow anyone else (including myself) to touch my eyebrows. Spa Sidney also stages several fun events throughout the year. It is a complement to Sidney's integrity that his vendors appear with pleasure to support his events. Susie gave me the option of having Permanent Makeup done-tattooing the eyebrows on. I saw that she had done her own, and they look very natural and you can't tell it is a tattoo. The color she picked for me is perfect (I'm also a redhead) and I love the shape. She makes sure the shape is right for your face and you like it and the color before she begins. I have been getting my hair done by Jaime for years! I followed her from the Loft and honestly, I will follow her anywhere. I feel like the luckiest girl to have her do my hair:) what's even better is she is loads of fun to talk to, we laugh and talk about everything from travels to music and food. I saw a special threw groupon for a facial,haircut and massage deal and I decided to make the drive to long beach to try this place out,They were able to take me super fast which was nice but the mini facial I had was nothing better then a fast face wash!, the massage was great but the man who cut my hair was super amateur ,it was so bad and to top it of he sprayed my hair with so much hairspray..without even asking me!!!! I wanted to break 100 so that i can give tips out and he had the nerve to ask me if i needed change,.. my hair was so sticky i wouldnt even run my fingers threw my hair! I was super bored with my long brown wavy hair. I had previously done the blowouts but wanted more body than that and was thinking about red. I think Robert was more excited than I was at first. He layer my hair so it felt about 10 pounds lighter and then dyed it the best shade of red. It looks like it glows in the light and is smoldering and sexy. My husbands going to love this! I feel bad writing this because the guy that cut my hair was nice and the salon is cute. It seems like it has potential. Unfortunately, the stylist did not listen to me at all and cut my hair WAY too short! He wanted to cut my big curly hair dry, which was fine. I told him I liked my length and he said he wanted to take 2 inches off. He even promised "not like when people say they're going to cut 2 inches and then when it curls up it's about 5". He started in the back so I couldn't see what he was doing. When he came to the front he whacked a huge chunk off and I was mortified! He took at least 5 if not 6 inches off. At that point it was way too late to tell him to stop. I told him it was 'pretty short" and he basically told me I"m too young for long hair and that this length was way better. Then, I asked him to cut my bangs which he also cut about an inch too short. When I got home I had to fix them because they were so uneven and there were long chunks hanging off the side. I've gotten used to the length, it is kind of nice to not have so much hair. But the cut is really uneven and I can't wait to go home and have my regular stylist fix it. To top it all off, I waited about 30 minutes for my appointment in the first place! Seems like that' pretty standard there because i saw other customers waiting long periods of time also. anna is the best. i have known her for a long time, and if it was not for a quick run in with her at target a while ago i would have not known that she was working here. i have never been so happy with a stylist...i was honest with anna about my hatred of actually having to style my hair in the morning and she gave me a cut that i can leave my house with without even blow drying. (although i do blow dry it every now and again). i have referred many of my clients to her and they always thank me for it! if you are in need of a new stylist that does not charge a whole paycheck for a cut i would go see anna! read more

This was my first visit to Spa Sidney. A friend had told me to ask for Alexis for facials and waxing. Wearily, having had painful and sloppy waxing experiences before, I went in. Alexis used some kind of numbing oil and a wax that only clings to hair so there was no wax residue left on my skin. Before i knew it the waxing was over! I have a rare genetic condition that makes my muscles tighten up easily, so I've had countless massages through the years. No one has come close to Eda's ability to really get into my muscles and loosen up the tightness and ease the aches. I went to this salon after purchasing a deal on Groupon.com. The deal was for a 30 min facial, 30 min massage, and hair cut/style. The facial was great, I have had facials in the past and usually get a full hour and was really surprised that a mini facial could be just as relaxing. Facial tech was very nice and informative. The rest of the appointment was kind of a disaster. The Massage was just a neck and scalp massage, I was expecting more...Massage Tech wasn't bad I just had hoped for a more full body or back massage. My hair was not great, too much hairspray used and as soon as I got home i had to wash my hair cuz it felt so weight down and sticky. Also, I expected that the whole appointment woudl take around hr and 45 minutes maybe 2 but I was there for a little over 3 hours because they did not schedule very well and had to wait about 30 minutes before facial could be done. read more
