It's cold in the room so she offered to turn on the heated blank, which was a bonus. The massage was just okay. Hardly any pressure, didn't even attempt to work out any knots, and her hands were cold...probably from the lack of pressure she was applying. Went to Spa Serenity for the first time today, and it was great! I booked an appointment for 4 people at 5pm at 2pm on the same day and they were very accommodating! We came in a little early and were immediately taken care of! The ladies were very friendly, though they spoke very little English! We ran a half marathon today, so a massage sounded very good! The massage was great! Not too gentle and not too rough! It was great! The price is very affordable ($35 for a 1 hour massage! Where else can you get that?)! I would definitely keep coming back here! Really great, relaxing/earthly feeling massage! The minutes went by fast and it was over just like that, i like keeping the oil in my back after though and I don't know why. My Masseuse was very nice and kept asking how it was and how I was doing and feeling. The pressure was perfect, I am definitely coming back next week for a more intense massage, the deep tissuse! And also their service was great, One of the reviews say that the rooms were dim, however, in my opinion the rooms were in the correct lighting. The room was relaxing. Wow! I love Spa Serenity in Poway. Such a nice refreshing, relaxing environment. They do such a wonderful job on making you feel like king and queen. They are so nice and friendly. I saw the great reviews, and really wanted to try out this place. I called 10 minutes before 9PM, and asked if I can come in for a one hour foot massage, and they were friendly and told me to come on by. I got there right around 9PM. (I believe they close at 10PM.) It's behind Union Bank, and I never even knew this massage place was there. It's very clean and relaxing inside, with very friendly staff. Each area is sectioned off nicely with curtains, and they have comfy massage beds and chairs. They did ask me to pay before my massage because they needed to close the register, and I saw a sign recommending at least a $10 tip for the $25 foot massage. But that is still a great deal. They did a really great job, I felt really relaxed, and they actually do give you a full body massage even though it's a foot massage. I believe they worked on my feet/legs for about 20-30 minutes. This was seriously the worst massage I have ever had! Amy was my therapist and she spent 17minutes of my 1 hour foot massage dumping bucket of water and getting a hot moist towel. I know this cuz I was laying next to a clock watching and waiting. I frequently go to these types of foot massage places for foot massages, so I know it can be hit or miss, but this was sincerely unacceptable and a crappy massage, if you can even call it a massage. When I left tonight, my back and hip hurt worse than when I arrived from sitting on the very hard uncomfortable massage tables. She did an ok job of rubbing my feet but my back, neck, arms and legs were absolutely pathetic! As I was leaving, I told the woman in the front that this was the worst massage I've ever had and her response was "oh, sorry about that" worst massage! Worst customer service ever! I have been going regularly to Spa Serenity for the past 6 years. The full body sports massage is great. I am an avid runner, and recently I switched from 60 to 90 minutes. It is so worth it. The lady doing my massage covers all from head to toe, and she is always happy to adjust to whatever is bugging me. And they don't cut corners or short you on time, like other places. I was looking for a local place to get a foot massage, that was quick and effective. I began my search on YELP reviews. Although there was several mixed reviews both good and bad the good out weighed them both. So I called to make an appointment for that day. Wow; not only were the ladies friendly but the place was clean, quiet and soothing. If you've never had a reflexology foot massage your missing out but to get one at Spa Serenity is almost beyond words. This is no average foot massage, it includes face, neck, shoulders and back massage. That's right all of this for the cost of a foot massage. I will go back. My son had a full body massage and was also quite pleased. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is because of the sign suggesting customary tips. I'm not going to lie, for a few seconds I was a little concerned this might be a seedy brothel, but when I walked through the doors to the back half I was pleasantly surprised at how luxurious and clean the surroundings were. I miss the management that was here when I first started coming here in 2011. Over the years I have become distant with This Location. The consistency in the massage technique has lacked a lot. Starting to feel it's not worth the drive from Carlsbad anymore. I gave them 2 stars simply because of the friendliness, cleanliness and being able to fit me in last minute. Unfortunately due to the language barrier, the massage I was expecting ended up just being nothing more than barely touch of the skin. I went this afternoon for foot reflexology. I wanted to try this place since I had a coupon. I had the most unpleasant experience with the person at the front desk. She was the most unwelcoming receptionist. She never smiled and said "hi" to me when I walked in. She gruffly led me to the room and called the massage therapist. The massage therapist was nice and sweet. The massage was average. I tipped her $10 as customary. After the massage, I had to go to the restroom. I asked the massage therapist to throw a bag with leftover food. She must not have understood. When I came out of the restroom, I went straight out the front door. I didn't have to check out with the front desk since I already paid. When I was outside and a few yards away, I heard a loud yell "HEY!". I looked back and the person at the front desk was yelling with a scowl and waving the bag that I gave the massage therapist to throw out. I went to get my bag and explained. There was another customer who heard the commotion and she was shaking her head in disgust. I talked to the customer after the incident and she, too, was appalled. Needless to say, I would never go back again. There are other massage places in the area like Cherry Blossom that has wonderful customer service and foot massage. read more

I had the worst massage I've ever had at Spa Serenity. I have sensitive skin and I explained that to my therapist before my massage and told her I needed a soft massage. She began waaay to hard. I told her again. I believe I told her at least 10 times during the massage that she was doing it too hard. She would giggle and continue just as hard. I ended up with bruising. I also felt quite exposed during the massage. Previously my massage therapists have done a good job of making me feel comfortably covered. Not so at Spa Serenity. The facility was clean, but there's not a lot of privacy. You only get a curtain that opens up directly into the main hallway. Not ideal considering the above comment about keeping you covered. This was not an experience I would ever care to repeat. read more

It was awkward but I did speak up several times. I asked if she could massage harder and she said ok later. But, she never did. She would leave the room and come back. Spa Serenity is the best massage for the price in Poway. Clean, legit, courteous, competent. They can usually accommodate you as a walk-in. The only frustration is that they have a high turn-over of massage therapists and you can't always be sure of getting the same one each time...even when you make an appointment with that person. read more

Very clean place, relaxing with a fountain in the front. The receptionist was quite pleasant, greeted me with a smile and handed me a pair of slippers to wear for my massage. The therapist did use quite a bit of pressure at first but when I asked her to be more gentle she did ease up. My massage was extremely relaxing and she did a great job working on my shoulders and neck where I had a great deal of tension from a migraine I had been suffering. I was a little nervous going in to Spa Serenity as I have tried a couple of the local massage spots in Poway/Carmel Mountain Ranch and had poor results. But, upon entering I was greeted with a smile and offered a pair of slippers while my sneakers were placed on a shoe rack in a side room. Shortly thereafter I was introduced to my massage therapist Sherry. She was super friendly and the massage was sooooo good! It was much needed as I'm an Esthetician and I can get really achy from all the facials, massage and body treatments I provide. When the massage was over, my shoes were waiting for me along with a glass of water in the front waiting room.
