Yeeeep - we're not ever going anywhere else now. This place uses tiger's balm (or something like it mixed with their oil), so there is a pleasant tingly feeling when you are on the table. These tiny women are strong - do not be fooled, they can get deeep into your muscles. They are clearly trained in their craft - and my massage felt like it had a certain order/sequence, that definitely made sense. The stretches were perfect, and there were definitely a few that a chiropractor would be proud of lol. Pressure was perfect, hot stones were perfect, walking on back was perfect. I really can't wait to go back and I don't recall having a massage I've enjoyed as much, and this considers that I've gone to a wide range (your 250+ Burke Williams massages and 50+ random asian place massages). Massage was a mix of deep tissue/thai in terms of the stretching, but I would not call it full Thai (as we were definitely on a table, with oil, and the active stretching part was not until the last 10 minutes at the end). This is likely to adjust to their clients' preferences though. read more

Best massage!!! My boyfriend and I came here and left speechless. Miley is amazing and got every spot I needed. We are very happy with our massages and will definitely be coming back as regulars! read more

These masseuses have techniques! Great experience! Massage is awesome and folks who run it are great.

Wow wow wow! If you want to experience an amazing massage from a top notch spa, this is your place! I've experienced many massages at many places. Massage Thai Way stands alone at the top for me. The business is clean, the staff all have a smile on their face and everyone is professional. I saw Penny today and she is thoughtful, caring and she knows the human body very well. Thumbs up from me! 100 stars. Simply outstanding! read more

First time trying a Thai massage for me and the wife. It went well. It's more of an active massage with deep stretching. My masseuse was definitely a strong lady. Solid pricing and great service. Little sore afterwards but I expected that. read more

I golf and run so my upper back and legs need some work from time to time. I have seen Penny twice now. The massage is great, and the stretching is even better. Fully recommend. read more

I've been coming here for 3 years. They give consistently excellent massages every time. I've gone to many places and the quality of massage would vary by person, time of day etc. This is not the case here. I was injured in the military many years ago and suffered chronic pain. 3 years of getting massages every couple of months and the pain is behind me. The prenatal massage was excellent. It's well worth the money, the employees are kind and accommodating and you'll get a great massage every time. Gina and Meya are great, Bam was great too but I don't think she works there anymore. read more

I love this place. I come here several times a year, most recently yesterday. The prices have gone up to reflect inflation. The new rate is $75/60 minutes, $110/90 minutes, $145/2 hours. There is a $5 discount for cash payments. I will say that each massage is different. The lady I had yesterday was good but not the best. I like hard pressure and she was more on the medium end. I am still planning on going back every other month or so. This is the best place I've found! Check them out if you love deep tissue massages and need a good stretch. read more

Nice work. I feel better immediately. I can quickly book appointment. Great service. read more

Located up in the middle of Poway Business district, is not easy to be spotted unless you are familiar with the area. I would have never known if it was not recommended by my Chiropractor. First, you need to use their website to make an appointment. ( https://www.thaimassagesandiego.com/rate-poway) Driving in to the small business plaza, the store was located at northern side. I walked in and was nicely greeted by 2 ladies. Asked me for my reservation and then was guided to my room. The place was very clean and nicely maintained filled with minty aroma. My masseuse (n.Bam) was a very polite young Thai lady. She asked me few questions regarding my health and bothering areas. Immediately she started the treatment and I only can say it was great. It is not easy to find a Real Massage Treatment places this days but, here, I am convinced from the start of her treatment. I always go to either Thai, Chi or Acupressure massage when I'm traveling overseas and this place was a duplicate. The whole treatment was professionally done and to my wonders, my stiff neck was much softer and I was able to turn my neck much easily. The effect was not immediately felt but about 40 minutes after I finish my treatment. I would recommend this place to all person that wants to have legit Thai massage for health. Remember that Thai massage is not just going through your body with oil. It include acupressure and stretching which is done professionally. I'm definitely returning to this place to experiment with other masseuse. read more

Reasonably priced for exceptional service. I've been here twice now, and will be coming back in the future. Penny knew things that were wrong with my body that I didn't even know. I went in for lower back and legs, and she recognized issues with my shoulders and arms. Great stretching as well. I can't forget to mention Gina, she was great as well, had her for a previous massage. read more

This was the best massage I have ever had in my entire life. Sarah was my masseuse, and I didn't even know that a massage could feel the way it did. She released tension I didn't even know I had, and I almost fell asleep on the table (until the sitting stretches.) They take time massage very serious here, and I plan to come back. 90 minutes was not enough! read more

Very good and very close to excellent massage experience. I've been twice to this establishment so didn't know a favorite yet as my go-to therapist. First time was amazing, second time the girl was wayyy too strong for my comfort. Although the therapists typically tell you to let them know, I am sometimes in a state where verbalizing my discomfort or enjoyment isn't as practical. I honestly rely (and hope) that my pulling away or sudden jerking gives them notice of possible discomfort. Not always the case, but in that I was very sore and feeling a different kind of pain after that super strong massage. My fault for not vocalizing to switch it up. I thought "I could take it". Still, just like Goldilocks, I will continue going back and try another therapist until I find the one that is just right. read more

Service is top-notch! Penny is great and knows her craft. My favorite massage place. If you are suffering from neck and back pain, trust me Penny can help. read more

Great price, great massage. Simple and low-hassle. I appreciated how my massage therapist kept things quiet and let me relax.

I love this place!! Everyone is so nice, every time I walk out of Thai way I walk out with a big smile on my face, the massage is always amazing! Penny did an amazing job and made sure I was comfortable during my whole massage 10/10 recommend!! read more

I used to be a regular at the Massage Thai Way in Ulric. They had the best prices and I loved my massage therapist. She left for another massage studio and the owner, Nee, was nothing but gracious. She told me where the girl went and never guilted me for using another place. Fast forward to now - I saw that a new location opened up in Poway. Groupon was offering a nice deal so I figured it would be a nice way to take a lunch break while I was in the area. The new location is really inland from the 15 fwy. It's past the Costco. The shop is in the same strip mall as Carls Jr & Subway. Parking was easy in the private lot. I was so surprised to see Nee working the front desk. We gave each other a hug as it had been many years since we've seen each other. The massage rooms here are so spacious. The massage tables are so large and comfortable. The tables are raised and not just simply mats on the floor. There are poles up above for the ladies to use when they step on your back. Anna was my massage gal today. She's very strong which I liked. Her English was limited but she tried her best to understand what parts of my body needed help. Thai massage isn't meant to be slight or even relaxing. It isn't a Mr Miyagi, wax on wax off, kinda deal. It's a massage where the girl uses her feet, hands, elbows to work out kinks and knots. I work out 4-6 times a week so I want to feel her work against the grain of my muscles and fix what hurts. So, that being said , let them know when the pressure is too much. I'm sure they can tone it back but I think their goal is to use strength to heal. Anna offered me hot tea afterwards. She said it's better for me than cold water (even though it was like 108 degrees outside). I took her advice. They're so kind here. You can tell Nee cares for her staff so don't be ridiculous and ask if they do special favors or whatever blah blah. It's a legit massage studio. They also opened up a location in La Jolla but the prices are higher. I bought another 60 min massage for friend as she hasn't had a Thai massage in SD before. I think their Yelp page also offers discounts so look into that. Overall a wonderful visit to try out their new location. read more

This place has gotten so much better! Definitely my favorite go to massage spot. My husband & I like to come once a week & indulge ourself to a 90 minute session. Meya, Baam, & Paani are amazing. Nana & Naan were our usual go to masseuse, but they both no longer work there. Bummer! Anyways, they're usually pretty attentive when it comes to booking. I LOVE how they step on me & really use their body weight to get in there!. I like hard pressure, But I rarely ever need to ask them to go harder. They're extremely strong! I love the stretch after the massage. Sometimes it hurts, but I feel so brand new after. You've got to add the hot stone & CBD oil, it's such a treat! I will continue coming here once a week & definitely recommend it. read more

Outstanding massage! I had one of the best massages ever with total professionalism with draping. Highly recommend this place.

This place never disappoints. It's deep tissue, helps me to relax my body is so tight & tense, and they go so deep I sometimes could almost cry (but if it's too much you just tell them & you can request light enough to be comparable to Swedish) when I leave tho my body feels like jello. read more

Great 90 min massage! Had a very good and relaxing experience and would easily come back.

Excellent deep tissue massage. My neck was so sore and stiff as was my back. I had a raging headache for two days. My therapist worked out the knots and my neck and shoulders loosened up and finally cracked when I turned my head. My headache went away. Prices are very reasonable. I will be back. read more

Went in to get a massage, and got a killer one here. Got some awesome stretching and felt great. Definitely don't do this before your leg day (like I did!). This was a great experience, I will definitely be going back again and again as long as things stay the way they were! read more

This is probably my 5th or 6th time here and each experience I've had have always been so AMAZING. Everyone's super nice and professional...they definitely care about their customers. It doesn't matter who you get as your masseuse because they're ALL really good! 100/10 recommend! Thank you for always taking care of me! :) read more

Omg, this massage spot it amazing! I usually dislike Thai massages because of a couple of bad experiences I had before-- getting squished! But my hubby surprised me with a Groupon for here for Christmas so I decided to give Thai massages another chance. & I am so glad I did! The spot it located down the road in Scripps Poway, across from Costco, in the same shopping center as Carl's Jr. Not much is around. Everyone was so welcoming when I came in & my girl was fabulous! I am blanking on her name but she was top notch! I will be coming back again so once I get her name, I will update this review because everyone needs to experience her! Each massage room is open at the ceiling so you can pretty much hear everything. Thankfully, they were all considerate of this & kept their voices at whispers. The bed was stiff & my breasts were squished but for a Thai massage, you need a stiff bed. My lady gave me a Thai Combo massage & it was wonderful! She ensured that everything she did was okay & the pressure was just right. The stretching was phenomenal & my body felt so great. Afterwards, she added some ointment for pain relief. Wow! read more

Definitely recommend! Came in with some real bad back and neck pain that made lying down and getting up almost impossible. An hour here and I'm just so thankful to be able to get up on my own. read more

I had my first massage at Thai Way yesterday. After reading the reviews I had high expectations but was overall disappointed. I went in because of lower back pain and asked my therapist Penny to focus on my glutes and hips during my 90 minute massage. I was shocked that I got very little of my massage in that area. It was almost like my therapist did not want to touch me there, even though it is necessary for relief from my back pain. My legs were never massaged either. I was disappointed, as I've never had this experience before. Outside of that, the walking on me and stretching was great and Penny was kind. read more

It's now late December 2022 and I am STILL going here. I have had over 100 massages and at least 5 of my top 10 here! So now the best are Penney, Pearly and Bam! They walk on your body for the first 10-15 minutes and they really know what they're doing. This is no half ass mall massage folks! This is an awesome experience from A-Z. I still HIGHLY recommend them! : ) read more

The lady was nice. Did a good job. She just left the room alot. But overall good experience

Unfortunately I will no longer be be a client here nor my husband. We scheduled couples massage on a Saturday at 5:30. When we arrived there was only one therapist and he tells us the other one didn't look at the schedule and went home already. Considering how unprofessional this was we were still nice and said no problem and would reschedule for the following Saturday. I have text them 3 times on different days and no one replies. They always reply. They haven't even replied to me in the early morning. Obviously they took some offense at us wanting to reschedule and my husband didn't want to get a massage without me and was not comfortable with a male for him. Beyond rude and unprofessional. They lost loyal clients for ignorant, inconsiderate, rude behavior. read more

I scheduled a massage in October with Bam because she had such great reviews here. My experience was subpar. She continually left the room to take care of other clients (I'm assuming she was the only masseuse working) even though I had made an appointment and was not a walk-in. It was disruptive and I didn't get the full time that I paid for. Her pressure was also mediocre and could've been stronger. I've had better experiences and would not recommend this place. read more

EDIT- SEE CORRECTED INFO SUBMITTED BY OWNER BELOW this review. During my visit here I was told that the original owner of Massage Thai Way had sold all of her locations but opened up this one. Even though it's under the same name, this one is solely under her management now. My Thai massage here was superb! The most relaxing I've had in a very, very long time. Great pressure and they know what they are doing. The staff is always very sweet. Highly recommended!! read more

Omg I found a real traditional Thai Massage in Pow Way, California the name of the masseuse is Penny. She is excellent. I've had many time massages work on me and she is in the upper level of experience. In fact she's been doing it now over 22 years if you have aches and pains and poor blood circulation, she can help it's not the normal massage. They're really trained in the body and how it works try it a 90 minute session and you will see for yourself how you feel and how different you feel I only give good reviews when I get a good service. This was an a good service. It was an excellent service, my name is Bob, and I approve penny read more

I highly recommend massage Thai way. They are very professional and considerate. My favorite therapist. Her name is Penny. She is a very sweet lady and she does a really good job with time massage. I really enjoy coming here. Hopefully you do as well read more

Not sure what the real reason was but I showed up at 5:45pm as a walk in and was turned away because there was "only one masseuse and she's wanted to go home..." even though they close at 8pm??? I think she's didn't want to help me because I'm too big. I'm 5'9 350lbs... this isn't the 1st location to do this either. What a shame because I'm a big tipper too read more

This place is amazing! Penny, my masseuse, is incredible! I have had many Thai massages but none as good as hers. I have had back surgery and have a lot of issues. I am also extremely tight and not flexible. She had me twisted and contorted like never before! She knows all the trigger points and how to loosen up all the tight spots. It's a bit painful but it will do the job of loosening up all stiff muscles. I highly recommend Penny! read more
