My wife went there to get a pedicure done when she was 8 months pregnant. My wife texted her when…read moreshe got to the salon, per her request. She then demanded that my wife wait outside in high 80s degree heat. When she finally let my wife in, more than 15 minutes late for her scheduled appointment, she got mad and frustrated at my wife because my wife had asked to be let in from the heat due to her being pregnant. Wife left and was very upset and became sick due to the heat outside and the lack of AC in the building (or maybe it being turned down). She later left this reply to my wife (she's lying, she was more than 15 minutes late). She is simply a disturbing individual and does not deserve to profit from being so cruel to someone in such a debilitating position.

When that happens and it is below the toe, it creates an ingrown toenail. Three weeks later and I'm still in pain in closed-toed shoes. This is extremely painful and continues until the nail grows back out. Then on the other big toe she rip the bed causing pain because she tore and, naturally, bled.

They can't do any designs at all not even French tip without it looking extremely wonky. I felt so bad because they're all very nice but everything I asked for they couldn't do and I was asking for very simple designs that any nail salon knows (flowers/polka dots). I ended up getting a nail sticker but they were put on uneven and a proper level top coat was not applied correctly so they aren't even on right and already peeling off immediately after getting it done. They also didn't even paint all the way on my nail so half of my nails aren't painted? The French tip is pretty bad and not done well on almost every nail. I'm so sad because it was $60 without tip which is almost double what I get at my normal salon I go to that does incredible designs. Won't be going back unfortunately. Too expensive for work that looks worse than what I could do at home myself.

I asked for a buildable gel fill, needed two nails replaced that had chipped/broken, and chose a simple nude color. The nail tech did a great job and I was happy with how my nails turned out. Unfortunately, everything went downhill at checkout... I was told my total for just the fill was $98.64 BEFORE tip. I was genuinely shocked. I've had this exact service done at multiple salons in Orlando for $50-$60! For the price I paid at Nails by Mercedes for just a fill, I could have gotten a fill along with a pedicure anywhere else. I immediately expressed my surprise to the gentleman at the checkout desk, but he seemed completely uninterested and unbothered. Had pricing been communicated upfront, I would have declined the service and gone elsewhere. The lack of transparency is what made my experience especially frustrating. While the work itself was fine, it simply was not worth the extreme markup they are charging. If you're considering coming here, be sure to ask for full pricing in advance, otherwise you may end up with an unexpectedly overpriced bill. I personally won't be returning.
