The "spa" part of the name of the business is misleading. It feels like some ladies dirty basement. I booked hair and makeup for a tradeshow in the area. There are Dallas cowboys posters and decorations all over one wall in the hair styling area- wth? I felt like I had to walk the makeup artist through how to apply makeup. It was bad bad bad. I walked back to my car to fix and reapply makeup before I could go on wth my day. I could never recommend, but was she very kind and I did tip well. read more

The gals were all so sweet and made my time there very comfortable. She made sure my nails were exactly how I wanted them and took the time to make them perfect. I visited this spa a few weeks ago because I was in town for a family event. I got a 60 minute deep tissue massage and found it very relaxing. The masseuse was attentive and thorough. I felt completely comfortable with her which is unusual for me. I found her to be quite strong also which is important for deep tissue. I felt like my muscles really got a good working and the next day I felt it which is good. (I would be concerned if they didn't feel different!) The reason why I'm not giving this spa a 5 star rating is that I have had even stronger masseuses and frankly I am very picky! I wish I lived closer because it's hard to find a good masseuse! I can't even rate this spa and have to be honest, I've never written a review for a business until I had this experience. They make you choose at least one star. My sister planned a fun girls weekend for my 40th. She inquired about the spa to ensure there was room to accommodate 8 guests. It was suppose to be a surprise for my birthday. We arrived, entered the "spa" before any of the workers. We were greeted within 5 minutes and taken into the "rejuvenation" room. The room barely fit 3 people, after being told that we could bring food and definitely all fit into the room. There was no place to put food, no sitting room, dust on the lamps and tables, the carpet had not been vacuumed, like EVER. The owner had to go get a lightbulb because the room was dark. We walked out to the salon to find more dirt, soap scum in the pedicure sinks, dust on floors and hanging off of fans. My sister was soooo upset saying that she was mislead and this was not at all what she expected for the pricing and the fact it was a spa! The thought of undressing for a massage on beds that were most likely filthy wasn't going to happen. My sister politely shared that we did not feel comfortable staying and asked that she call her about the deposit. She was called within 10 minutes, and was told they would be charging her for all services for every client. My sister said that she told them that she would not be paying this amount and they called her a "stuck up bit.." who should have gone to Studio 2000 if she wanted an upscale spa and said she probably could t afford them....although prices are very comparable! The owner was highly unprofessional and raised numerous questions about the true nature of this spa. We will never return and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. Again, I felt compelled to warn those who expect great service and professionalism! You won't find it here! read more

I went to this spa a couple of weeks ago for a gel manicure and aromatherapy massage. I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The atmosphere was so unprofessional- old chili containers in the work place, open chip bags laying around, no receptionist desk, not super friendly staff, so much clutter, etc. THEN I get my gel manicure which was really delayed because they had to untangle a huge wad of tangled cords to find a plug for one of the lamp. My manicure looked so bad when it was completed- the color was uneven, the gel was all over my cuticles, she hardly filed/buffed my nails. I've had my nails done so many times before this, so I know what the right process looks like and I certainly know what the finished product should be. I then went into my massage (after knowing in the back of my mind that this was going to be a bad experience,) and it was so bad for the following reasons. 1) The staff member came in with her phone streaming the "spa" music which kept buzzing throughout the massage and interrupting the music 2) TOOK OFF HER SHIRT to only be wearing a really low cut cami 3) The actual massage sucked so bad. It was just so uncomfortable because my bare skin was touching a lot of her chest/armpit because of her lack of clothing. Her technique was horrible and felt so amateur. It was just all around BAD. 4) After the massage was over I turned on the lights and saw HOW DISGUSTING the facility was- false lashes laying out, used nappy hair extensions laying out, wax pots that were absolutely filthy, etc. I have pictures. The woman who did both of my services then rang me up and gave me her card that said she was a cosmologist, and did not say anything about a massage therapist. I would be willing to bet that she was not a licensed massage therapist. Anyways, after this horrific experience I have submitted a complaint and hope this place gets shut down. It was just so disgusting and I would NEVER trust them with any kind of cosmetological procedure that they advertise on their website. Went there for a manicure with a couple of my friends and my 10 year old sister and didn't have the best time. The guy who did our manicure was very good and did a wonderful job. The problem was the lady who was the owner and complained the entire time and did not have a clean mouth at all and was not very professional. It was hard to relax and enjoy it while she was complaining the entire time which was two hours. this was the only place that I called that could fit us in. I called on a Friday morning wanting a Friday afternoon appointment and they made some calls and got two therapists to be available at the time we wanted. Anyway, the place is under renovation and is currently a hair/nail salon with a massage room. So, my husband and I had massages one after the other. Mine being deep tissue, his being swedish. Both massages were great (my therapist actually has a bachelors degree in holistic medicine and is starting school again to get her masters and doctorate). Very nice people, but was not impressed. I asked to get a regular manicure and ended up just getting a polish change. The nail tech pushed back the cuticles and painted my nails. Thankfully, the owner noticed and said just to charge for a polish change. The nail polish was not even on all nails (spotty). I feel terrible for giving this spa one star but honestly if I could give them none, I would. I scheduled an appointment for my husband and I to go and get a couples massage for our one year anniversary date. We had been looking forward to it for at least a month. We arrive at the building having been told prior that the doors remain locked on weekends and if the "door man" wasnt there to just call and they would let us in. No problem. Door man ended up being a building maintenance man very unkempt in appearance, not at all professional nor could we understand most of what he was saying..nice guy, odd vibe upon entering the building. We get up to the 5th floor and the atmosphere is not at all what I was expecting-dark, kinda of dirty...ok, I am thinking once we enter the spa: eutopia-I mean, its a SPA, right? WRONG. Walking out of the elevator and turning left towards the spa you are immediately facing one of the hair stylists chairs-no reception area or anything and so I am walking towards this woman doing hair and she is pretty much just staring at me until I explain that I had never been there before to which she points to a door and says thats where we need to go. So I am starting to feel uneasy already.... We walk in to the other room to find a half eaten piece of pizza on the table, where a woman is working in clothes that look like she is running errands to the grocery store (ie not at all professional or even put together)....she is friendly enough, hands us some forms to fill out and leads us into the massage room where she tells us we can sit on the stools or on the bed and "spend some time together". HUH? No waiting area, no robes, no aromatherapy smells ANYWHERE in the building, no soft music, no dim lights...NOTHING. So I am sitting there trying to fill out my form and trying to feel justified in the $200 with tip that we are about to drop on this experience. I am thinking that maybe she is waiting until we fill the forms out to get us robes etc. She did offer us wine or water which was nice. The room was not exceptionally clean, equipment was not high quality, lotion left over in a cup on the table etc. When she returned with a second massage therapist (who was well dressed and looked very professional actually) I just had to be honest with them as much as I didnt want to but I explained that this was not at all the experience we were looking for to celebrate. The first woman attempted to get us to stay but in the end we left after about 10-15 minutes and without a massage. We would have gotten more of a spa experience out of Massage Envy. I just kept wondering if they themselves had ever been to a spa to know what was expected...I would never recommend this spa and I didnt even get to the services. read more

Visited the spa during a girls weekend. We each had mani/pedi and eyebrow waxing. One of the pedi spas didn't work, but I did get the best pedi ever ( and I go ever 5-6 weeks for one) from the owner Kelly. They used a dremel tool which was a first for me but got all the dead skin off. My friend had sores on the bottom of her feet so if you have sensitive skin, do not let them do it. We had a great time and felt right at home with the staff. I would go back again. The prices a re very reasonable. read more

I don't think I would have found this on my own, it is one of the office buildings off the circle. But a group of bridesmaids and I went to get our nails done. At first look the place looks a bit messy. I think they may have been doing some construction but there were no signs or explanations. I opted for a manicure as the pedicure was much more expensive than my neighborhood spa. I will say that this manicure was done very well and that it lasted for over 2 weeks. I guess my biggest concern was the lack of professionalism amongst the employees and the lack of cleanliness of the spa. This is the worse salon ever. It looks ghetto and they don't care about their customers. My wife went in for hair extensions and left with an 80's hair band hair cut. They charged an incredibly high dollar amount to make her hair look fake and choppy. They have poor application skills on hair extensions. Great place to get a mani/pedi in Indy. I was in town for a conference and found this spa via yelp. I called in the morning and they were able to get me on the same day. Missy helped me pick a color and helped me understand the differences between the gel brands. I also had a toe that needed a touch up and they were able to look at the purple polish I was wearing and match it perfectly. The staff is very friendly and made me feel like a local. They provided many great recommendations on things to see and do in the city. read more

I received a gift certificate to this spa and was looking forward to my appointment for a OPI gel manicure and a glass of wine. Its a very dumpy looking spa and when I walked in they just told me to sit down. I waited about 15 minutes while all the staff was just sitting around talking. Finally I was walked back to the nail area, which was really cramped and just not appealing at all. This manicure didn't include any extras, she filed and painted my nails, that was it. I asked about my glass of wine and she said oh we don't do that anymore. Then when I was checking out I was told how much a 20% tip was and that they required that amount if you were using a Living Social deal or gift certificate. Her service definitely didn't earn a 20% tip. I won't visit this salon/spa again. read more

I will not be returning. The pedicure was ok but they clearly do not know how to do a shellac manicure. They were actually asking me for tips on how to do it. The person doing my nails did such a bad job the owner had to take over and I still left with an awful manicure. It was a very disappointing experience. The staff were friendly, but extremely unorganized, unprofessional and poorly trained. The facility was not clean and even visually looked disorganized. I would never recommend this to anyone. And the name is pretty deceptive. There was nothing spa-like about this and they skipped the relaxing parts of the mani and pedi, for example the massage part. I agree with other user ratings and comments and I understand why the reviews are so mixed. Overall it was a strange experience and I will be finding a different place to redo my shellac manicure. I have to say I didn't want to believe the some of the reviews I read on here, but I went for a couples massage and was very disappointed. I've been to transformations spa and salon and had the best experience ever for my first massage. We tried to find a great place for valentines day and everything was booked except spa in the city so we decided to give it a shot. Our package was $250 dollars and we got a massage and facials. The facials was the best thing of the whole deal, the massage felt like a 10 year old child could have done better. The masseuse wasn't consistent with her massage, she stretched one leg not the other and was very soft with the rub. The sheets were dirty we actually seen stains on them and it said an hour massage which was probably lasted only 35 min. Needless to say I won't be returning to spa in the city, I still tipped the lady ten dollars only because that's the type of person I am. Overall I felt like masseuse was rushing just to get done, and not sure but they could have been hair dressers. First off, we were not offered a robe to change into, the restrooms were public bathrooms across the hall, and the relaxation room was about as big as my closet. There was one staff member that was completely unprofssional in every way. Now the massage was good, except that the therapist was again unprofessional and I could not totally relax. I was recently at this establishment and was so dissappointed. Several of my friends were with me and we received several of their services including nail treatments and facial treatments. First, the place is dirty and run down. The website is not a representation of this place. During the facial services we were never given robes, just told to push our shirts and bra straps down. The sheets/bedding on the facial bed were never changed and looked filthy. The "meditation room" was a dark and dirty room the size of a closet. They served us wine in glasses that looked like they were from Goodwill. The manicures and pedicures were awful! No nail soak for the manicures and essentially it was just a nail polish change. I left with chipped paint where she had painted on my skin and cuticle and it was peeling. During the pedicure they dremeled the bottoms of my feet and I left with loose skin hanging off my heel. I went home and pulled it off. Most of the staff was friendly (hence the 2 stars), but the owners boyfriend was there and made most of us feel uncomfortable. It was definitely unprofessional. None of us would ever go there again. The website is not a good representation of the business. It states facials are 60 minutes (we averaged 30-40 minutes), manicures and pedicures were also shorter than stated on website. I wouldn't mind services being shortened if they were done well. read more

We had a wedding and had some family and bridal party members participate. I worked with Missy and she worked to get us all in with a notice of a week. Everyone was accommodating and friendly. We booked manicures, pedicures, and massages ahead of time and also got straight shaves and hair cuts on site. It was a one-stop-shop, and they even offered to do a fruit platter on site and beverages! We had a blast and were very pleased! I am a frequent massage person and this was the worst I have ever received. From the appointment set up to the actual massage. The entire experience was very unprofessional. The therapists were also the receptionists some guy eating donuts as we walked in. They were not uniformed, they didn't ask for medical history, even asked for their gratuity. I recently went here for nail service. I will NEVER go back. Not only were the tools not clean (literally cleaning dead skin off if before using it on me), the staff was so unprofessional. I think it was the owner from what I could pick up, but it was almost unbelievable the trashy things they were saying. My husband and I were in town for a Colts game and we both needed a massage. We found this place onYelp and decided to give it a try. We were able to schedule a massage the same day we called. We got a couples massage. We both felt amazing afterwards. The salon and spa were clean and the staff was welcoming. The only complaint is the building location. It looks like an old apartment building from the outside and you have to buzz in through a front-desk attendant. Once you get on the elevator and to the Salon/Spa floor everything looks normal. If two spa employee's hadn't been standing outside on their lunch break we probably would have walked right by the building. It is in a safe part of town and a couple blocks from City Market so great location. We walked from the Hyatt Regency. If we hadn't had dinner plans, I would have gotten a pedicure while I was there as well. read more
