I love Spa by Nancy! This is my go-to nail salon, and I've truly never had a bad experience here. I come all the way from North Quincy and I'm always so glad to have dropped in for a gel mani and pedi! The ladies who work here are all very nice and very professional. It's also clean and inviting, and there are lots of gel colors to choose from. I always try to come with cash for tips, but if I forget, there's an ATM right in the lobby. I've never had to wait in line here either. That's a HUGE plus in my book. I've heard Tiny (sp?) does nail art, which I'm dying to try! read more

I've always had great experiences here. I usually have a pedicure and gel manicure. I've gotten my eyebrows waxed a couple of times as well and I've been happy with everything. My recent visit was for a pedicure and full set. It's been about a decade since I last got a full set. Some of the acrylic is a little thick so next time I'll ask them to thin it out more a bit but overall I was very happy. Pedicure as always was terrific. Thank you! read more

Honestly this is probably the worst nail salon I have ever gone to. I do not usually go here to get my acrylics or pedicures, however, my mom likes to come here so the one time that I decided to get an acrylic set done here, I was extremely disappointed. First of all, I got a gel acrylic set and never in my life has the gel ever chipped immediately after leaving the salon. Second of all, never also has the acrylic layer itself (monomer& powder) chipped off like this. And the technicians do not know how to shape correctly; I am very specific about how I like my nails to look and refuse to have a shape that makes my fingers look chubby. Everything about this place is a disappointment, other than the appearance of the place which is really the only good thing about it. Waste of time & money. read more

Honestly this is probably the worst experience at a nail salon I have ever had... this is what I asked for this is what I ended up with... you might not be able to see in pic but they're super lumpy, super uneven, I was cut and just left very unhappy. I was seen by Nancy and she's just very rude, she was pulling on my fingers, digging her nails into my fingers and when it was time to cure my gel in the machine she was making shoeing motions at me to take my fingers out rather than telling me to switch hands! I got charged almost $50 and I got an acrylic fill with a solid no design. I WILL NOT be returning and I don't recommend the salon at all!!! Go to fashion nails in Quincy they're wayyy better read more

I just got a "Spa Pedicure" for $32 with Tena and loved it!!! She did an amazing job with the whole thing. I even tried to leave before my nails were dried and smudged two of them - but she re-did them with no problem!!! I will definitely be back to get another pedicure with her! (I did not need a manicure at this time - or I would have had one here as well) read more

Awesome service everytime. Been a customer for 7+ years, before they moved to this beautiful building. I'm not good with committing to a set time so I normally just walk in. Never had to wait and nancy is so quick to grab an amazing nail tech to service me. Had a pedi 2 1/2weeks ago and shellac less than a week ago. She has a lot of shades for shellac, gotten so many compliments on these #585 or #588 I forgot. Sorry :) read more

I love spa by Nancy! I always go there for my pedicures. If you are looking to get a good facial come here and go to Lenka! She's amazing! It was my first time getting one and she's very knowledgeable about skin and makeup. She knows what she's talking about and gives many good recommendations for your skin. The massage part was my favorite. Definitely will be returning next month for another facial read more

I got my nails done today by Lucy. It was my first time getting acrylics so I'm not sure what to expect. I'm happy with the final results on my right hand but the other side was not done well. When I sat down she got immediately to cutting my nails down but it seemed like she was in a rush and just trimmed it way down. It was messy and uneven. For the final product, Two of the nails looks very lumpy and uneven. After a day, it is more noticeable how the acrylic meets the cuticle in an uncomfortable way. There's also some bubbles in the nail I can see which adds to the uneven look on some of the nails. read more

I had to quit going to my other nail place because they got a Karaoke machine and you had to listen to them sing while you got a pedicure. Not relaxing. I drive by 6, yes 6 other nail places to go to Nancy's because they have given consistently good service. The place is large, well lit, and they usually have plenty of people on staff. Most of the time I get a gel mani and regular pedi and I can get out in about an hour. If you are in a rush, they can do both at the same time, which I appreciate. The pedicure does include hot stones massages, which is so nice! Great job, will definitely keep going here. read more

Dropped my old salons for this one!! It is now my go-to and I've always had a consistent service whenever I go. Can get pretty busy sometimes so I try to go during off hours. They are detailed and careful with my nails and leave them looking nice and clean. Pedicures include exfoliating scrub, hot stones, massage and body lotion. The place itself is big and open with nice chairs and lots of natural sunlight. read more

I just left from having my nails done here and was extremely disappointed. What I didn't like: I prefer my nails very short and the woman doing my nails didn't ask how short or check the length with me after I told her that I needed them cut. I had to check several times and have her cut more and more, but still she never checked the length with me after cutting or filing. On the left hand, she got all the way through and was ready to polish without checking the length with me and then I had to tell her that I needed them cut before she polished. So she cut them down more, but then didn't file them again until I had to ask! This should be a no-brainer. When you cut the nails, you need to file them. She forgot to do cuticle cream on one of my hands. Again, this should be a no-brainer. You can feel the difference when it isn't on and she should have realized it. She didn't even take off all of the polish that was on previously. When I was checking the length, I saw bits and pieces still on my nails. Definitely not a high attention to detail here. She didn't ask me to take off my engagement ring before rubbing lotion on my hands. This gets it so dingy and you should be removing the jewelry, or have the option to anyway, before they start putting lotion on. Halfway through, they had me get up to wash my hands. Doesn't this wash off all of the oils and creams that they use? Doesn't make any sense to me. She literally didn't say a word to me the entire time. After I left, just the act of getting my keys out damaged one of my nails. I was so over it at that point, that I didn't bother going back in. I had my nails done in Boston near my office last month and went back to work to type all day and it didn't ruin them in the slightest. The only good things: They were able to get me right in without any wait and there was a huge selection of colors to choose from. These are the only bright spots in this disappointing experience, so if you are looking for a fast, mediocre experience, this is your place. However, I think I'll spend the extra $4 and have them done in Boston on my lunch break, where I can get my money's worth. read more

I've been getting my nails done here for almost 2 years and wouldn't go anywhere else in the area! I always see Julie for a fill and Mary for a pedi and have always been happy! They're very friendly and their prices are very reasonable! read more

I had just moved into Braintree and sadly have to ditch my previous nail salon. Though it was only in Quincy, but it was time to find a new place. I have been going to Glow for few services in the past year or so. I always noticed the nail salon next door, Nails by Nancy-- it seems like there's always customers in there so I decided to give it a shot. Also, it was advertised "Best Nail Salon in Braintree"... so I guess you can't go too wrong. When I walked in there, it was a typical nail salon. Nothing fancy like the one I went to in Quincy (Sydney Nails)-- I like Sydney Nails because of its pleasant modern decor and friendliness. Anyways, I had only gotten a manicure at Nancy's. Lily was the one who did it for me. And I think for $12-- you can't go wrong. I liked it -- it took about half hour and about less than 10 minutes to dry. So a quick in and out. The weird part was that, the station where they dry your nails is directly in front of a locked door-- so you're pretty much staring at the Main Street and people walking. Overall, decent experience. Will most likely return.. probably for a pedicure next time too! Oh right -- CASH ONLY! read more

I really like Nancy's. I was recommended here when I moved to Braintree by a friend and have not had a bad experience. The most recent time I went, they used hot stones to massage my legs before the polish and that was an unexpected treat! The ladies are sometimes a little quiet when they are working on me, but I don't mind that. The cashier/front desk folks are very polite and friendly on the phone and when cashing me out. read more

I went to "Nails by Nancy" after I could not get my shellack done at "Just Nails" across the street because she only had time to do my toes, BIG mistake!! I was getting married the next day and this place butchered my fingers!!! I had three cuticles Bleeding under the gel when I left because the lady cut my cuticles so bad she couldn't get it to stop so she just put on the gel over my bloody fingers, it was horrible looking!!! This place is a warehouse for doing nails, they rush people in and out all day and they don't focus on the customers like they should. I do not recommend this place to anyone who doesn't like bloody gel nails, ew gross! read more

I went here to get a pedicure last Sunday and was getting married Thursday night. The technician who did my pedicure massaged my feet so hard, I could barely walk the next few days. She triggered a nerve in my foot I use to have issues with but got better. I had to go to a foot doctor and get a cortisone shot but that didn't help and I still have trouble walking. Luckily I was able to wear my heels for the wedding but just for the ceremony and put sneakers on right after. I would NEVER go here again. The damage to my body and worrying if I will walk without it pain again is so upsetting. I've never ever had any issues with pedicures until this one. It's devastating. Steer clear of this place. read more

BEWARE OF MMA Awful place. The ladies were so rude to my Mom and I. Also be aware, they use Methyl methacrylate (MMA) for acrylic nails which is a chemical that is not FDA approved and illegal. It will damage your nails and could potentially rip your natural nail right off your finger. They definitely need to be reported read more

Went here to get my nails done and they were rude from the start. Then the woman kept trying to get me to add on more things and wouldn't take no for an answer. Will not be going back here ever read more

Spa by Nancy is my go-to nail salon! My mom and I always have excellent service from all of the staff and I am always getting compliments on my nails. Rose and Nancy do a great job with waxing and I most recently went to Henry for my pedicure and gel manicure. He was extremely meticulous and I was more than happy with my nails. The gel section is organized and makes it simple and easy to find a matching polish color. The new chairs and hot stones are a plus too- makes pedicures seem more sanitary and the salon is always clean. No complaints and wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

Nails by Nancy (now Spa by Nancy) has moved further down the street to a larger building and everything is new and it has a nicer more updated look. I don't get my nails done that often, but when I do, I go between Nails & Spa and Nails by Nancy, both in Braintree. Nails by Nancy had always looked a bit run down, but they did a nice job & were cheaper. Now, their salon is lovely, new comfy massage chairs (not loud or annoying motors) - everything is clean & sparkling. And, I've never had to wait or make an appointment (which is typical at Nails & Spa). I don't think the prices went up either - $23 for a pedi with a short foot/leg massage. As others have noted, cash or check only. One quick word of advice, WAIT an extra few minutes to make sure those toes are dry. The drying area is ultraviolet light only - there didn't seem to be any fans - and I smooshed my big toe polish a bit by putting on my closed toe shoes too quickly (ugh!). I'm sure they would have fixed if I went back, but I didn't have the time. read more

I love this place. It's the only place I go to get my nails done. I've never had to make an appointment, there is always enough staff on to do walk ins. They're friendly and clean and the staff knows many of the costumers by name. They always do such a nice job! And it's not too pricey! read more

I've gone here for about 8 years and they do do a nice job. However, I feel like they push somethings on you that you did not want, such as you ask for and eyebrow wax and they say lip too? I have blonde hair and no stache, no thanks. Also, they charge $12 for a manicure when other places around town charge $10. Most of the time, ill usually go to the other places and pay the $10 and give a better tip. Also, at nancys, they don't talk to you. Just my opinion, but they do a nice job and I will still come here every now and then. read more

Got my first gel manicure there, and got my eye brows waxed. I am happy with the gel manicure, however, my cuticles aren't so great. Also, the woman working on my eye brows told me that she could not add an arch to my brows because then they would be too thin. Also, i had an allergic reaction to the wax, and apparently I wasn't the first. In fact, almost everyone that I talked to afterwards had the same reaction to said wax. It looked like a cluster of pimples across my forehead. read more

This was my 2nd time to this place and I shoudlnt have given them a second chance. I had a mani/pedi and yes over all the toes and fingers came out painted well but the experience was not great. i was in an old chair that had paint pealing off the basin. We were told we would receive $2 off if we did both mani/pedi (still more expensive then when I do both in Boston at better places) and when my friend asked why she didnt get the$2 off her manicurist told her no, she just couldn't have it. Over all i thought for the # of people who go there and the amount of $ they are charging the atmosphere could be MUCH better and nicer to look at. Additionally almost all of the hand in foot driers had either both UV lights broken or at least one...not cool read more

After reading the reviews on yelp, my sister and I decided to give this place a try on mother's day. Granted it was mother's day, but both of us felt like our technicians rushed through our pedicures. We received what I would call a "rub" as opposed to a "massage" and no leg exfoliation. The pedicures themselves were pretty messy and my feet felt kind of rough the next day. It is inexpensive but save your money either do it yourself or go somewhere else. read more

I love this place! I know it doesn't have any fancy decor, and it looks like a typical nail salon but time after time they do such a great job! I am very picky when it comes to what I like done to my nails. I happen to be someone who's cuticles need a lot of loving every time I get a manicure. I had Lily and I happened to mention that my cuticles are always a lot of work. She made my nails look so nice they looked fake. It was great. I got one of those new manicures that they bake in between layers. It was called Gelish. They had tons of colors to choose from and it was only $25. It lasts for about 2 weeks, which is a lot better for me. I am a nurse so usually manicures don't last long anyway on me, but no the Gelish. Lily made them look so great and they lasted 2 weeks =) The do only take cash, which is a bummer, but yes there is an ATM across the street. The parking is also not great, they have street parking and then a few spots in the back, but whatever that is what you are going to get for any salon on a main st. The doors are a little confusing. They have 353-355, so it is a couple of units, so there are 2 locked doors and 1 that is open for customers. My sister also went here with about 5 of her friends and they all loved their nails as well. I will definitely be going back here. read more

This place is so-so. They push products a bit more than I'd like and my manicure chipped within a few days. I go across the street, they're not bombarded and they try harder. Nails by Nancy seems to be hanging onto some "Best of Braintree" award they got in 1999 and they rush you through. Also - when my friend asked for her color the manicurist pressured her to instead get purple nails (seriously?) because they are sexier (no, seriously?) so if you aren't the kind of person who can just say 'no' then you've been warned. read more
