Our favorite tofu pudding spot in NY! It comes with a side of syrup that you can drizzle on top as you eat. Both hot and iced versions are good, just kind of depends on what mood you're in. The tofu is soft and light and the perfect post meal dessert or mid-day snack. The workers are really nice, the price is good and we never waited long for our order. Next time we're in NY we'll be coming back here!
Alright product, not wow nor bad, just alright. I would have preferred to go elsewhere instead...
Ordered:16oz Sweet Tofu Pudding ($3.50): with honey ginger syrupAya's take: It's been almost 2 years since my 1st visit but I'm glad to see Soy Bean Chan Flower Shop has been doing well and has even gone through a renovation. The OG gentleman is still working and we actually saw his son too who said he's been helping out. He's been working on their social media and branding which is wonderful to see! The Sweet Tofu Pudding is just as good as I remember if not better! It's warm, light, and silky sweet. It's surprisingly satisfying and the honey ginger syrup just takes it to the next level. It's not intensely sweet but more so delicately sweet without being too rich or intense. I will absolutely keep coming here whenever I'm in the area.
The shop has (3) sections: drinks (Beans & Blossoms), fresh flowers, and dim sum, desserts, and drinks (Soybean Chan). I think there was one high table to eat at. I tried the Osmanthus rice wine iced tofu pudding (16 oz, takeout, $6.80). The cold tofu had a slight tofu smell and was pretty silky. It reminded me of silken tofu. The texture felt much finer than Fong On's. I poured the rice wine with soft rice granules on top. I thought I could drizzle the Osmanthus syrup, but it settled in some areas. The flavor wasn't too sweet. The staff from each section seemed pretty welcoming even though I was only purchasing from Soybean Chan.
This delicious and affordable tradition tofu shop is a must visit. I stopped by and grabbed a quart of their traditional tofu pudding, but I regret not grabbing five! The tofu is silky smooth, almost custard like--it's good alone or with the ginger simple syrup. This storefront is connected to a cafe/bakery and flower shop. I was impressed by the updated interior, especially as a hole in the wall spot. Definitely add it to your list for a true Chinese food crawl in Flushing.
Peanut allergy? Beware!!! Definitely not as good as it used to be with the elderly couple behind the counter. Now it's all new people and complete renovation. The new owners don't seem to really care at all! One of my orders, the All Star Tofu Pudding contained peanuts, which was NOT written on the menu. Those with a peanut allergy. Beware!!! This place was packed with people when it first opened but now it's rather deserted. We were the only people ordering yet they still got it wrong. It was a mistake to order an extra topping, because they completely forgot about it, even though the order sticker which said add extra topping (which I paid extra for) was attached to my takeout container. Prices are super high now. Way over-priced. Also if you order any toppings, you get less tofu. Any toppings, should really be put into a separate container, so you get the full amount of tofu. Taste. Not what it used to be. Seems rather watered down and not as smooth as before. Rather chunky, grainy. Sugar level. The toppings are made in a sweet syrup, so with toppings, you have no control over sugar level. You can only add more sugar, not less. This place used to be a regular stop for me, but now, I'd go elsewhere.
We did a food crawl in flushing and the Dou Hua (tofu pudding) here was one of our favorite items for the whole food crawl. Recommend getting it cold in the summer. It's light and refreshing and has such a nice soft texture. I would come back here and order again and try some of their drinks and Chinese donut and soy milk (classic Chinese breakfast item). The plants in the shop are cute too.
This place is famous for their tofu pudding, and they recently renovated to become a much more spacious space with cafe on one side and tofu pudding and Chinese snacks on the other side. I had high hopes for the tofu pudding because people have been raving about it for years. But boy, was it disappointing. The tofu pudding we had was gluey, and not smooth. The whole tub was a mushy mess. I grew up eating tofu pudding so I do have high standards, but this is not even "acceptable" level. I don't know what style tofu pudding this is but it is not a good representation of what tofu pudding should be like, whatever "style" it is. The signature options are also a much higher price but with less tofu. They fill up the tub to 3/4 and add the toppings, when the toppings are actually $6 more than the regular tofu pudding with no toppings. They should just put the toppings in separate containers.
Such generous portions for the price here! I got a large tofu pudding and added red bean on top. The ginger syrup is delicious! The tofu is soft yet firm and the perfect cold temperature. A small is around $3.50 and a large is around $6.75. Everything came out very quick too.
Renovations were done super quick. Right side is where you order the tofu pudding, left side coffee. Soft opening weekend, kid at the register was completely overwhelmed. Tofu pudding with a twist of gentrification. It was over $5 for a small with peanuts- crazy how much the price went up.
We adored coming here when it was more of a hole-in-the-wall and now it's been renovated to include a coffee / pastry shop across from the soybean shop. It's still pretty good and the quality seems about the same. It felt more authentic and a better experience when the OG gentleman was serving us. Still nice and they now have tall standing tables for you to enjoy your snacks indoors.
Fresh tofu pudding and soy bean milk in a flower shop! We stopped by for a warm dessert on a cold day and were so happy we did. It was an elderly man that ran this portion of the shop and everything was fresh. Fresh tofu pudding for $5 (small) and $2 hot soybean milk was the best decision ever. I got the sweetened soybean milk and it tasted amazing! I already miss it and can't wait to come back.

If you love tofu pudding this is the place to go! I used to diy my tofu pudding in my drinks at home, so I was excited when I saw tofu pudding beverages at @beans_blossomco ! I got the matcha ginger tofu pudding and let me tell you this is the best thing ever. The molasses and ginger syrup sweetens the matcha so well and the tofu pudding makes you feel like you are drinking a dessert. @soybeanchan999 now sells tofu pudding with an assortment of toppings but you can still buy it plain with the ginger syrup. I love that the prices barely increased from when he was running his shop prior to the renovations. The flower shop is still located in the back of the shop with seating allowing you to enjoy all the pretty flowers and plants while eating your dessert. I will be frequenting this place very often! read more
After three stalls of savory eats, we made our way to our first sweet stop. The interior is unique, with a mix of floral shop, soy-based desserts, and a cafe. There wasn't much seating available, but we were able to snag one of the high-tops to enjoy our dessert. SWEET TOFU PUDDING 甜豆腐花 The tofu came hot with no toppings, along with a side of sweet ginger syrup. The tofu was quite silky, while the ginger syrup was not too sweet. It was good, but nothing that made me think, "Woah! I've never had anything like this before." I wonder if getting the tofu with a topping like sweet taro or peanut would have made it more exciting. This is a must visit destination if you love tofu pudding. They are known for their soy products as well as pretty floral arrangements. It has been part of the community for over two decades. Originally, a mom and pop shop where they sold tofu pudding dessert within a flower shop. With recent renovations, it is really nice and pleasing to the eye. Within one shop, it now houses a tea/beverage bar on one side, then a tofu pudding counter to your right with a flower shop further back. The delicious and silky tofu pudding can be eaten as a sweet dessert or a savory snack. There are many different toppings to choose from, so it can taste different each and every time. However, if you love the texture and taste of tofu itself you might prefer it with a simple ginger syrup. I can't say enough about their authentic tofu pudding and creamy soy milk. I came here with my partner to try some of their tofu. It was a cold day, but this warmed us up! Inside is a flower shop with a tofu stand right by the door. Service was quick and efficient. The man in front was very kind, and we got the best value with this meal. The tofu was hot and sweet. Silky and soft. One of the best tofu I have ever had! read more

This is a cute shop that combines a flower shop, tofu snacks, and drinks. It's a nice take of different cafe drinks with tofu pudding. Tofu pudding is one of my favorite desserts that is easy to eat. Tried the matcha late with ginger and tofu pudding. It was a nice combination of two things I like matcha latte and honey ginger tofu pudding. Quick and easy ordering. Price is typical for most lattes. read more
One of the spots that makes flushing great. Loveliest, soft tau fu fah for cheap. Can't get anywhere else in the city. The guy who runs it is super efficient. The have lots of styles/add ons to give it a flare. Great choices, great food, great service. A true gem in this city! They only have soybean, but the flowers are also beautiful to look at. read more

Growing up, I always loved sweet tofu pudding, and I realized it's been a while since I had it. This place definitely brought back nostalgic memories when I tried it! It's located inside a plant shop in Flushing and there's a sweet old man with a large container of tofu pudding. I ordered the small tofu pudding which is still a very large portion (the picture shows the large size, which is huge)! The service is very quick and it was only $3. It came with ginger syrup which you drizzle over it and it was absolutely delicious, not too sweet just the way I like it. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town! read more
As someone who had tofu pudding consistently growing up, I looked forward to checking this place out! Their tofu pudding was only $3 for a generous amount! The tofu was smooth and silky. The owner scoops it out for you on the spot so it comes out pipping hot. The ginger syrup wasn't too sweet which I liked, although I would preferred to be even more ginger forward. I want to check out other tofu related products next time! They also feature other Chinese breakfast items. The store is embedded into the flower store so there isn't anywhere to sit. Finally had a chance to eat the dofu fa. Not as silky smooth as others I've had before. Not sure if it's intentional or because it was from close to the bottom of the pot. However warm and soft, and the syrup you put on top isn't overwhelming sweet. At $3 for a small and $5 for a large, you can't really complain. Gentleman serving us was sweet and fast. read more

I didn't want to hate on such a beloved institute but the tofu pudding I purchased was so unbelievably bad. I've seen countless TikToks recommending Soy Bean Chan, which is run by a friendly old man at the front of a floral shop. When I visited, there was a line running out the door so clearly I had very high expectations, especially as a tofu lover. I ordered two large tofu puddings ($5 each) which came with a little container of a ginger simple syrup. It was hot and fresh out of the container and stayed warm even until I returned home hours later. I did like how ginger-forward the syrup was and the taste of the tofu pudding was pretty mild but fragrant. However, the texture of the tofu pudding was incredibly off-putting. I'm assuming either the soybeans weren't milled but blended or the ratio of coagulants were off because while I expected a soft and tender silken texture that would creak apart if I so much as looked at it, I instead got spoonfuls of a grainy textured tofu that was spotted with tiny curds. Extremely disappointing overall, but I am hopeful that perhaps I came on an off day. I will tack on one more star to this review because I do love supporting a small business and the old man was very nice. read more

Absolutely delicious tofu pudding. It is warm, comforting, and delicious. They can also serve it cold and with peanuts, which is what I will try next time. Service super friendly and kind, the man behind the counter is the sweetest. Value is unparalleled, this 500ml container was only $3!! read more

Fresh Tofu dessert shop located in central Flushing NY Queens. The shop is located in the front right of the Flower shop and can be hard to miss if there are too many plants blocking your view. But once you find it, you must order the Tofu pudding dessert. Classic old traditional Tofu dessert that comes with ginger sugar syrup. The tofu is soft but also a bit firm. The warm dessert is great for snack or side dish to be combined with your meal. Order a small for yourself, or a large to share. read more
