Yupp whole 25 miles of it. Here's the story of that trip. I woke up on a Saturday morning to leave for Torrance. Admittedly, halfway to Torrance I had my doubts. It is a really far place and even if I have lived in Torrance its really out of my way. But I figured I'm halfway there already and I needed to satisfy my curiosity! I get there and its located in a small plaza with other business establishments. I found it quite odd for a clothing store so chic to be in the middle of restaurants and other stores. But that's just me. I went inside the store and I was the only person inside. There was one girl who didn't even bother to say hi to me or offer to help which was very disappointing. How hard could it be to ask the only person in the store right? Service aside, it was a stunningly beautiful store. I really loved the rustic, vintage layout of the store. I even loved the small dressing room in the corner surrounded with the brick walls. So ingenious! It made me feel at ease browsing around the shop. They did carry some good high end brands not jut for womens but more mens too. I saw Current Elliott jeans, Tom Ford sunglasses, Jurlique Skin care, Tocca Perfume, Toms, just to name a few. Everything was well made including the accessories. Even their own line of La Chou Chou clothing was very well made and they're not that expensive to boot! The only downside is, there's really not a ton of selection. And what they have in the front in terms of sizes are what they only have left. It was really too bad because I was determined (desperate maybe?) to get something from this store. But all my sizes were gone. And I don't know if all the sizes were gone but I noticed they seem to carry jeans in the smaller sizes. In the end though, I left the store empty handed. I was very disappointed and frankly sad. I expected more but the store fell short. Would I come back to make the trip again? Probably not. But if I'm in the area I'll definitely drop by. I saw some cute accessories that I want to go check out again. And who knows they might have more clothes in stock. Plus, as I was leaving the plaza, I saw some Japanese restaurants with Okononami Yaki and a pastry shop right next to it. So yay for me. I guess that means my trip hasn't ended yet! :]

I should note that buying shoes is my least favorite thing and I normally just repair my boots till the shoe repair person tells me to throw them out, but my experience at village runner was actually enjoyable. Once inside, what you will find is all of the things that you would expect from a thrift store; namely: clothing, household items, furniture, art, books, records, and a little bit of everything else. One of the great things about this thrift shop is that they often have sales. Though you never really know when this is going to take place, but walking in there, they let you know what the sale is going be. Within it, the shop has rows and rows of clothing and other things, like the household items are near the back. Whereas, items such as books, records, and household items are on shelves along the walls. It's a very clean, open, and airy place to shop. They have a small parking lot in front. On July 1, I purchased a beautiful jumpsuit for $200. Unfortunately, the bottoms didn't fit. As a busy single mom, the outfit stayed in my car longer than I intended. When I returned on July 28, I noticed for the first time the sign stating there are no returns or exchanges after 10 days. Like many shoppers, I assumed there was at least a 30-day return policy, as that's common at most retail stores. To make matters more frustrating, I was never handed a printed receipt when I made my purchase. My receipt was sent digitally, so there was nothing for me to reference that clearly reminded me of the 10-day return policy. Had I been made aware of such a short return window, I would have returned much sooner. I explained the situation to the employees on duty. One of them told me the policy was "mostly for bathing suits for sanitary purposes." I pointed out that my purchase wasn't a bathing suit--it was a jumpsuit with the tags still attached, completely unworn. She simply replied, "Yeah, it's over," followed by a dismissive "Sorry" in a very condescending tone. I asked, "Are you sure? I don't think that you are." Instead of trying to help or offering any possible solution, I walked away, and the two employees laughed at me. I turned around and told them that laughing at a customer was horrible customer service. There was nothing funny about the situation. What disappointed me most wasn't even the return policy--it was the complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and respect. At no point did anyone attempt to de-escalate the situation, offer store credit, or even show understanding. It felt like, "Okay, bye. Get out." I now have a nearly $200 outfit with the tags still on that I can't wear because it doesn't fit. While I understand businesses have policies, customer service is about how you treat people, especially when they're disappointed. A little kindness goes a long way. Unfortunately, because of how I was treated, I will never shop at Diane's Bikinis again. I also won't be recommending this store to my daughters or their friends. Respect costs nothing, and this experience left me feeling completely disrespected and unwelcome. I hope management takes this review seriously. This experience wasn't about being told "no"--it was about the way I was treated. Customers deserve to be spoken to with respect, not condescension, and they certainly shouldn't be laughed at for asking reasonable questions.
