Raul helped me bring my vision to life for my kitchen dining room table. I showed him a few inspiration pictures, gave him the measurements and we were off! Raul was communicative throughout the entire process. He gave us color samples to take home to make sure we were happy with the color choice. For a custom piece, the price was also very reasonable. I'm very happy with the final outcome! Thanks Raul! read more

Raul, the Owner of Southwest Unique Designs, doesn't need my review.... as you can see, he has 5's across the board! However, I have to say that Raul is the OG! When you meet him, it is obvious how much he loves what he does. I found him on Facebook Marketplace, I was looking for a potting table similar to the workbenches that he had posted. I reached out to him, sent him a picture along with the dimensions and in less than 2 hours, my potting table was done. He takes great pride in his work regardless of the complexity. I will be recommending him to all my friends and family. Thank you! read more

I only venture to leave reviews on Yelp if I am blown away by an establishment. For the short version of my review: If you're looking for someone to build you quality custom furniture for cheap, look no further. I found Raul on Craigslist and asked if he could build me a coffee table, to which he replied immediately. This continued to be the nature of our professional relationship. Raul would text me back right away, give me honest answers, and give me very reasonable prices. After doing quite a bit of furniture shopping, I can tell you that this is rare among other merchants. He finished my coffee table in 24 hours. I was so impressed with the quality and with his timeliness, I came back with another project drawn on paper which he finished with speed as well. This three more times until he built me 5 pieces of furniture. The pieces he built for me have a beautiful weathered, industrial/vintage look and were exactly what I had in mind when I described to him how I wanted them to look. The professionalism and quality of his work would have earned him 5 stars alone. The speed that he works as well as the extremely competitive pricing (all of my pieces were $100-$200) literally forced me to sit down at my computer and write this review. Raul is an artist, no doubt about it. Although he is very skilled at his craft, he humbly takes any suggestions you have and tries to create your vision with his hands. I am not surprised to see he has all 5 star ratings, to me he is beyond reproach. read more

Had a really great experience with Raul who built a custom interior bar based off of my technical drawing. If he wasn't sure about how something was supposed to look, he reached out and got clarification. Looking forward to working with him again on my next woodworking project. Cheers! read more

I provided Raul a photo of a table I liked from google, told him the size I wanted and within 48 hours the table was build. It's identical to what I asked for. He built, finished, and delivered the table within a week. Couldn't be happier with it, I highly recommend to anyone, actually already had a couple friends start projects with him. You would think that custom furniture completed that quick would cost a fortune but it doesn't, great prices comparable to what you would pay at any furniture store or less! And it's custom! I will be back again and again. Eventually my whole house may be Raul's work. read more

I was in the market for a coffee table for my apartment. I needed a rather specific dimension given the area where this table would be placed. After exhaustingly looking around, I gave up since I couldn't find what I was looking for. This was until I came across Raul's unique work. After contacting him, he advised me that I can give him my specific dimensions and he'll have it ready for me within 2 days. Sure enough, I gave him an idea of what I wanted, and within the 2 day mark, he constructed the perfect coffee table that fits in my living room. 100% satisfied with his work. I highly recommend Raul for his stunning craftsmanship. Definitely will be returning for future work. read more

Had a custom dining table made with a bench and absolutely loved it. My husband and I were scrolling offer up looking for a good solid wood bench to piece together our own breakfast nook. We found Raulo by chance and headed out to the workshop. After meeting him and seeing his work, we knew we had stumbled upon something special. Not only is he amazing at his craft but him and his guys are super down to earth. We ended up walking away with our small bench and contracting him for additional pieces: another longer bench and matching table to complete our nook. We just picked up the pieces yesterday and are very happy! The pieces were perfectly crafted to our taste and completed within a couple of days. Raulo worked with us, was very easy and just overall pleasant to do business with. If your looking for custom, solid pieces that will be with you for a while, invest in this small business! read more

Given the phenomenal reviews Southwest Unique Designs has received, I was very excited to commission Raul to make a great coffee table for me. He was responsive at first, gave a quote within a day or 2, but suddenly went dark on me. I sent three emails over the period of 6 days about the design specifics that all went unanswered. He is also still actively posting and advertising on CL, so I know he's still alive. Glad other people got great furniture out of this guy, but something went amiss here. Very disappointed in the customer service. read more

I had been looking for hairpin legs for a long time for a custom table that I made and found Raulo on Craigslist. Two hours later I picked up my custom made to order legs! I found a desk similar to the one I wanted on Craigslist and reached out to Raulo to see if he could make one in the color/dimensions I wanted. Raulo not only created the perfect desk, but he was fabulous to work with - very responsive, offered advice on certain dimensions, and ultimately turned around the desk swifty and perfectly. I can't express how happy I am to have stumbled upon his ad and I'm excited to return with future projects - his work is unique, well-made, and he will work with you to make the ideal piece of furniture. Raulo is the man! It started with my searching for a dining room table. Didn't quite find what i was looking for. And I stumbled upon raul's craigslist ad and called him up. Went down to his shop, picked my stains, how weathered i wanted it to look and gave an amazing price. From then on hes made my hanging entertainment center on the wall, my kitchen banquette and table and coffee table... So pretty much 90 percent of the furniture in my house. I just keep coming up with ideas for what i want in my house and he pretty much says, "yea i can do that" and creates what you envisioned. I reccomend him to anyone. You seriously will not be disappointed!! And will keep coming back with a new idea he can create. read more

Finding Raul was a gift! I moved into a new place and needed some furniture in specific sizes. After looking around at tons of stores and online sites, I came across Raul's work on Craigslist. I saw the photos of his work and thought maybe I would take a chance on someone making something for me. And I am GLAD I did. I did my research and found Google images of things I liked and I sent them to Raul along with the dimensions, the color wash I wanted and instructions. He truly can make you anything and anyway you like. I had a coffee table, entry table and matching bench made and couldn't be happier. The craftsmanship is great and the finish is amazing. My favorite part is they are exactly the sizes I needed. Raul was easy to communicate with and gave me updates along the way. My new place looks great with my new furniture and I have Raul to thank.
