We had a party of four and was seated at a low top that had a view of the kitchen. Lively open space with an open kitchen you can see both the cook line and the prep area. The cornbread was the unexpected standout of the entire meal. Mildly sweet, savory, light and fluffy all the way through. I was not expecting a side dish to steal the show, but it did. We also ordered the double stuffed burrata, and the bread it came with deserves its own mention. Crisp, lightly toasted, with just a touch of char. It paired beautifully with the creamy burrata and the accompaniments on the plate. For my entree I went with the grilled Caesar salad and added shrimp. It ended up being the perfect call. The portion was generous, the shrimp addition made it feel like a real meal. The romaine had this excellent crisp char on it that added so much. The dressing was heavenly. One of the best Caesar dressings I have had in a while. My favorite parts of the night had nothing to do with what was on my plate. We got to watch chef Sara Bradley working the kitchen with her team during service, and it was clear why this place has the reputation it does. Lucky for us it was really great! I had the country fried steak platter with over easy eggs. My wife had a bacon and egg platter, subbing the toast or biscuit option for a pancake. The pancakes here are offered in two varieties--"thin" or standard. She went standard, which is a thick, fluffy pancake. I haven't seen this style served outside of the many pancake houses in the smoky mountains. Always enjoy those when staying there and this one, judging from my bite, is on par with those. For those unaccustomed to this style, it's far better than you might imagine. The "thin" cakes, which can be ordered in stacks, is what is a "standard" hotcake pretty much anywhere else. My country fried steak was great, eggs cooked to order perfectly. Hot coffee, cheap prices, great service even though they were very busy and our server was juggling a dozen tasks simultaneously.

Room was saturated mildew smell, "fully equipped kitchen" had 3 forks 2 knives and serving spoons, appliances were reduced size, linens were questionable. Pool has trees and so much scrub brush growing around it, "renovations" have been going on for years. Didn't even try the alleged continenital breakfast. Due to unfortunate luck we were in able to relocate to a better facility. On the plus side AC worked and had hot water. Will never stay here again or recommend to anyone.
